China Suggests Greta Thunberg is an Ignorant Political Puppet

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h/t Observa; In response to Greta attacking China’s colossal CO2 emissions, China has responded by suggesting Greta is “short of sufficient academic knowledge study, and lack of sound self-judgment capability”.

China’s response;

Thunberg may lack enough knowledge to correctly understand climate change

China’s annual greenhouse gas emissions in 2019 exceeded those of all developed countries combined, for the first time since national emissions have been measured, according to a new report from the US-based Rhodium Group. When retweeting the news on Twitter on Friday, Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg commented, “Yes, China is still categorized as a developing nation by WTO, they manufacture a lot of our products and so on. But that’s of course no excuse for ruining future and present living conditions. We can’t solve the climate crisis unless China drastically changes course.” It’s noticeable that Thunberg has not publicly voiced her opinion over Japan’s decision on dumping contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea.

The report by the Rhodium Group, which emphasizes that China’s annual emissions exceeded those of all developed countries combined, is prejudiced. Its aim is to impose more responsibility on China. Plus the report seems to have ignored a simple fact that the combined population of the US and the EU, which are mostly developed countries, is still less than that of China.

Thunberg, who at age 15 started skipping school on Fridays for her climate protests, is merely 18 years old this year. She is short of sufficient academic knowledge study, and lack of sound self-judgment capability. Girl like her is prone to be affected or even manipulated by some political forces.

Li said, in a bid to achieve their political intents, some Western political forces manipulate teenagers, treating Thunberg as a political puppet. This practice is unethical and despicable.

I’m shocked at Greta’s attack on China. I thought Xi Jinping’s China is now one of the good guys, thanks to China’s recent commitment to achieve net zero long after all their competitors suffer total economic collapse.

A quote from greta’s tweet above.

“But that’s of course no excuse for ruining future and present living conditions ”

Present living conditions are being eroded by you greta and your green blob , its not China making new climate and environmental laws ,its Western governments who you fly the flag for, who appear to be endorsing every thing you say, infact there pulling your strings gret your a muppit being manipulated.

The “China is a developing country” misrepresentation needs to stop. By what criteria are they allowed to be called that? They’re the only country putting up a space station on their own if proof is needed.

Don’t worry, they’ve been developing for 6000 years. As we all know, there is no time limit placed on developing countries. Besides, chinese peasants still do their laundry in lakes and streams and don’t have sewers. So it wouldn’t be fair to say that, until they all live like Europeans and Americans, you know, the developed countries.

The way things are going many peasants in Europe and the US will soon be doing their laundry in lakes and streams; at least during the regularly scheduled blackouts!

Here are the Monthly Charts for the South Pole. You will see that if you identify locations that are shielded from the Urban Heat Island Effect and Water Vapor, you get no warming even though CO2 has increased from 336.84 ppm in 1979 to 414.24 ppm today, a 23% increase.

Here are the charts and undeniable evidence CO2 doesn’t cause warming.

WUWT, you should do a report on why Antarctica isn’t warming with higher CO2. The evidence is undeniable.

I think I saw where NOAA is saying CO2 is up to 421ppm now.

CO2 is UP, Temperatures are Down.

News flash! Even communists tell the truth sometimes, but only when it benefits them.

Remember, in Sept 2016 at a joint meeting in Hangzhou, China Obama and Xi Jinping formally committed each country to the Paris Accord.

So the question is now, What’s Greta got against the Paris accord?

There can be no discussion about that : China is dead right.

Lu Xue is of course correct in the assessment of Thunberg’s lack of real knowledge of climate and the manipulation of this unfortunate girl by family, activists and politicians.

However, the angry grade school level of response of China’s spokesperson -all ad hominem and zero rebuttal – to her claims is very telling. What Greta said is the real elephant in the room. Even sceptics seem to think that arguing the science is the right course to kill this thing off – a sort of Marquis of Queensbury agreement on rules of engagement.

Greta may not have a clue about any scientific aspect of global warming theory (she’s an activist and in many respects not less knowledgeable than many of the climate wroughters who call what they do science). On the subject of China’s galloping rate of CO2 emissions, she has hit the nail on the head. That emissions from China and others in Asia and Africa will overwhelm the puny West reductions is a certainty. The Paris Accord is dead.

Recently, John Kerry and Joe Biden, and now Greta have recognized the elephant that has already made the Accord a dead issue. If this odd intersection of minds knows this, who doesn’t know?

Everyone is playing their role in this kabuki theater.

  • If we didn’t have Communist China boogeyman as the World’s biggest polluter and emitter of CO2, then we’d have to invent one.
  • If we didn’t have a petulant ignorant teenager lecturing the world’s leaders on complex energy policies and priorities, we’d have to invent a Greta puppet.
  • If we didn’t have stupid US President, we’d have to invent one, like the Left did with Trump and now tries to hide about Dementia Joe.

It is just that as the world’s population has grown, the relationships have become more interdependent on international trade and capital, the stakes in this theater dance are higher than they’ve ever been at any time in human history… bcasue we are all so interconnected.
And all it takes is one ill-placed lit match to burn it all down.

No need for us to invent one as someone already did.

None of these other Western Alarmists seem to want to take on the Chicoms over their emissions. Greta is fighting this battle all by herself.

You’re right, Greta. If CO2 is a problem, then the Chicoms are contributing the most to that problem.

I would criticize the Chicoms right along with you, except I don’t think CO2 is a problem, so criticism is not warranted in this case, imo.

May 11, 2021 6:23 pm

Wow! A banner day indeed! I can agree with both Greta and China!:

First up, Greta:

But that’s of course no excuse for ruining future and present living conditions. We can’t solve the climate crisis unless China drastically changes course.

And the riposte:

Li said, in a bid to achieve their political intents, some Western political forces manipulate teenagers, treating Thunberg as a political puppet. This practice is unethical and despicable.

Oooh, that’s gotta hurt. Especially as the “despicable practice” of manipulating teenagers is unknown in China.

I’m waiting to see how the Carbon Cult is going to spin this so it’s OK for China to emit more CO2 than the US and EU combined, as long as their per-capita emissions are lower. By that logic we could fight climate change by adding another 100 million to the US population and thus lower our per-capita emissions. With Biden immigration policies, that might actually happen.

Indeed. Both make good points.

For Greta: if you believe in a climate crisis caused by Man’s emission of CO2, then you can’t avoid the elephant in the room that is China and it’s emissions

For China: why should anybody take seriously what an ignorant, high school drop-out has to say on the matter?

Personally I feel sorry for Greta. Her family and helpers have abused her and when the gig is up she’ll be a laughing stock.

One day she is going to wake up and finally understand who actually stole her childhood and she is going to be pissed.

I suggest her parents should hide all the sharps.

Greta was probably just a fad. An outraged and perfectly sincere child is lot more appealing than an outraged, perfectly sincere teenager. I’m sorry I’m too old to see it happen, but thirty years from now, she will be 48, and the world will not have become uninhabitable because of the burning of fossil fuels, and she will have long since realized that she had been had. I wonder how she’ll feel about it.

No, it won’t be uninhabitable because the “problem” wasn’t a real problem to begin with. What it will be, however, is a very miserable place due to energy poverty (think poverty stricken areas of Africa on a global scale).

Ian Coleman

Actually, Griff, the solution to the problem is to find reliable, affordable alternatives to fossil fuels. Those don’t exist. What are the main contenders? Wind turbines and solar cells? The cannot possibly work.

I live in Western Canada, where we have a town called Rimbey. Population 2500, powered by a coal-fired generator plant. It would be impossible to replace the plant with wind turbines. Think of the cost of the land, the cost of manufacturing and erecting the towers, and the necessary back-up of a fossil fuel power source to smooth out the inherent inconsistency of the wind turbines as a power source. The cost would be something like a hundred million dollars. For a town of 2500 souls.

“Sustainable” energy sources (which are unsustainable if you actually use the correct definition of the word sustainable) are a fantasy. That’s just a fact.

But no, the world will not become uninhabitable, because the problem is imaginary. How gullible do you have to be to believe that the Earth’s temperature is contingent on the concentration of a trace gas in the atmosphere, and that there are computer algorithms that can predict the climate of the future by extrapolating from that concentration? The story on its face is preposterous.

I don’t understand what this is all about. After all, wasn’t the whole idea of climate catastrophism that it was to be used as a political weapon against Western society, while giving everyone else a free pass?
