Democratic National Committee votes against allowing 2020 candidates to participate in climate change debate

Updated 0020 GMT (0820 HKT) August 25, 2019San Francisco (CNN)Democratic National Committee members on Saturday voted down a resolution that would have resulted in single-issue debates among candidates — including on the issue of the climate crisis.

Some Democratic presidential candidates voiced their concerns with the vote’s outcome. Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke called out the DNC over its decision, specifically regarding a debate devoted solely to the climate crisis.
“This decision is as baffling as it is alarming,” he tweeted. “Our planet is burning— the least we can do as a party is debate what to do about it.”
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren also voiced support on Twitter for a climate-focused debate on Thursday night before the DNC’s vote.“Climate change is an existential crisis that threatens all of us—and we need to take bold action now to stop it before it’s too late,” she wrote. “That’s why we need to have a #ClimateDebate.”

The DNC threat to expel candidates who stage a single issue climate change debate in my opinion is unenforceable.
Imagine what would happen if they tried? Such a mass expulsion of climate concerned Presidential candidates would stir an immediate grassroots backlash, which would likely lead to the downfall of the current Democratic Party hierarchy.
In my opinion, the cowardice of the Democratic Party Presidential candidates in the face of this empty DNC threat, over an issue they tell us is an existential crisis, tells us all we need to know about the low quality of the candidates, and their unreadiness to take on President Trump.
But…but…I thought “Climate Change” was the ONLY issue and “The Green New Deal” was the only solution?
They can’t mention in the debates how they will best address “Climate Change”????
I guess the politicians know that “Climate Change” and “The Green New Deal” are no big deal after all.
(Or, if they really buy into it, they know it will cost the PR and votes.)

The story isn’t clear on the subject. It looks like the September 4 debate is going to happen. I don’t think there is a threat reading the linked story. Here’s my guess, the DNC will not do a climate only debate. Others will do at least one, and noone participating will be in trouble. I think that’s the way it sits. There is no current threat to expel. I could wrong. The situation should be clarified on WUWT or the article withdrawn from WUWT.

The ultra-progressively liberal socialist democrat communist party is prohibiting its own candidates from enjoying their own right to free speech!
Upon further review, they can forum and not debate. And I expect the debate police to be watching closely to make sure they are not debating. I could have written my above better.
The DNC believes in the nonsense. But just don’t want people to know what it will cost. Same for healthcare and college. So you want to hide the cost of your agenda. What should I think?

PLAN B:
The Crazy Crowd gets together to debate the Burning Issue of the day. Of course they think going all MoonBat will actually help them. That is why they are the Crazy Crowd.
But plans are in motion. Wheels within wheels, within wheels:
1) Biden stays away. His handlers will not let him anywhere near this disaster.
3) Warren stays away. She may be organizing this behind the scenes.
3) Sanders stays away. He would attend, but at the last minute, he smells a rat.
The MoonBat festival goes off as planned. The American Public sees just how Crazy these candidates really are. As damage control, DNC makes good on it’s threat and bans all participants from future debates. They HAD to, they had no choice. The debate was a PR train wreck!
Now the Primary race is the Top three, the field has been instantly cleaned out. The path to the nomination is greatly simplified.
1) Biden: His handlers breathe a sigh of relief, disaster averted.
2) Warren: {evil grin}, then issues tepid response showing empathy to failed candidates.
3) Sanders: Slowly, it dawns on him that there might have been more going on here than meets the eye.
Then it must not be the planetary emergency of our time. Come clean with the issue or admit massive deception up to this point.
What’s Steyer going to talk about then?
If the DNC — as a party — actually believed their own propaganda they’d have a single issue debate. They certainly SAY that the issue is important enough. The truth is, they are all pandering for votes, and their liberal-headed constituency is too dense to figure that out.
But after all, these are people who think that a trace gas is the global thermostat and that raising taxes and building wind turbines will cool the earth.
The Democrat nut jobs would be exposed in five minutes .
The problem the DNC has is it’s are addicted to the money
coming from the climate fraud industry yet it is a sure fired election loser .
You won’t be hearing any Hillary ” fire coal miner” pledges this time but the cat
is out of the bag and they know it .
Might as well go all but a climate debate …no chance , they are already anti -American enough .
Why would any union prop up a party that openly wants to wipe out its members jobs ?
