It’s not often that climate sceptics get a chance to go head to head with alarmists on TV.
Here Marc Morano gets a chance to call out a Biden campaigner:
And credit to Fox News’ Dan Bongino, who inconveniently points out that the actual data does not support Walling’s claims that storms are getting worse.
This dude Kevin Walling has an impressive track record:
“Kevin’s proudest policy accomplishment was helping to lead the successful effort to pass marriage equality (in Maryland)” He is an activist and so we must trust his judgment.
The North Atlantic is only 400 years into a long warming phase that will last for the next 12k years. 1585 was the last time perihelion occurred before the boreal winter solstice. Since then the orbit started its 12.5k year march toward perihelion occurring at the boreal summer solstice.
On average the North Atlantic is warming with summers will get more sunlight but winters less.
There will be more water in the atmosphere in late summer and it will drop out faster over land as the colder boreal winter sets in.
There is very good sense in planning for these climate changes. This millennium, ice will begin to accumulate on the land masses surrounding the higher latitudes of the North Atlantic. Sea levels will begin to fall.
It would be folly on a grand scale to invest heavily in weather dependent electricity generating infrastructure with the aim of reducing atmospheric CO2, which has ZERO direct impact on Earth’s energy balance. All that investment would be better placed on improving flood controls; relocating dwellings if needed; improving building insulation for colder winter and warmer summers and strengthening all structures for higher wind loads.
Expect to see more tropical storms occurring a little later in the year. Expect them to progress to higher latitudes. The North Atlantic is actually a warm basin, currently just past its most recent minimum in total ToA sunlight.
If climate scientists were doing meaningful work, these are the changes they would be identifying – not dicking about with inept climate models based on nonscience.
Regardless of which side you’re on , both made assertions and provided no data or evidence. Disappointed given title.
Just a question: Does this individual (Walling) know anything at all about seasonal changes, how the Earth wobbles, and the difference between climate (long term) and weather (short term)??
Just askin;. If I could borrow the Tardis or the Time Machine and drag his sorry behind back to the Chicago blizzard of 1967 (look it up), I would do so in a heartbeat. (Ooops! Almost spelled that “heartbear”! And I love bears! Brain cramp, that’s all.)
Where does this denial of the real world come from? I can’t figure this out. We had a chilly-ish summer in my AO, with not close to enough rain, but elsewhere, things were different. That is simply weather. Now we’re getting chilly and rather early Autumn temps, and not enough rain to keep my poor postage stamp lawn from looking like the squirrels chewed on it.
That’s just W-E-A-T-H-E-R. It’s a shame he does not know the difference between weather and climate. He won’t live long enough to see any real changes in the climate, but I’m guessing that when they come, it will be perpetual snow, ice sheets and cold bitter winds.
So what will this Walling person do when his heat gets turned off because the “grid” powered by wind and solar sources quit on him, because it got cloudy and started snowing and that has gone on for several weeks? That will also cut into food supplies, among other things.
Can you say State-Federal money grab?
The Sun just went down. This has been the darkest it has been since the start of records, 7am this morning. The onset of darkness has been associated with a reduction in productivity so it is the canary in the mine of the economic turmoil to come. The government must stop people keeping time.
I hope this helps with the myopia.
