Watch the Senate climate pajama party all-nighter live

NA_COALPLANTIn case you haven’t heard about it, the Senate is having a “denier bashing fest” while they bask in the warmth provided by steam from the coal-fired Capitol Power Plant.

If Jim Hansen and Senator Tim Wirth can turn up the heat (like he did in a Senate hearing in 1988 by turning off the A/C in summer), you’d think these clowns would have the good sense to turn off the fossil fueled heat while they tell everyone how wrong it is to use fossil fuels.

Senate Democrats’ donor-friendly global warming show

On Monday night into Tuesday morning, two dozen Senate Democrats — members of the party’s newly-formed Climate Action Task Force — plan to hold an all-night, filibuster-like talkathon on the issue of global warming. “Congress must act,” Hawaii Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz, a leader of the group, said in a statement. “On Monday night we’re going to show the growing number of senators who are committed to working together to confront climate change.”

Managed to watch perhaps about 10 minutes of the stupid-fest, catching Tom Udall from NM give “examples” of how his state has been affected (mostly drought-related), and showing his state’s involvement with “green” energy – wind and solar plants, and an algae biofuels plant as part of the “solution”. He also bemoaned the absence of the Republicans, opining that perhaps they just don’t care about this issue. I managed a minute or two of Elizabeth Warren from Mass.’s testimony, I think the gist of it being about how we are facing a planetary crisis, and at a critical crossroads, and how “powerful interests” are blocking the pathway to cleaner air, blah-blah-blah. There is only so much of that nonsense one can take.
Maybe the Republicans should pull an all-nighter of their own to counter this. Wonder if any Dumbocrats would show up.

hunter and Mike Jonas, please do all of us a favor and list the names of the people McCarthy falsly accused. If you can’t do that, then stop repeating what you have “learned” about history.

Were there any Senators from North Dakota or West Virginia there? Democrats running for re-election in those states need to stay away.

I saw the Drudge title too. Then I saw Richard Branson going off on it too there. I wish his business partner, Bert Rutan, would take him aside and explain a few things to him. Sigh.

Sigh again… Burt Rutan… too much Sesame Street over the weekend (and I was a Vari-EZe fan since the 70’s – I should have caught that).

Instead of calling themselves “Climate Action Task Force”, maybe they should be:

Well, now it’s morning in the charming city in which the POTUS began his political career. The Senate all-nighter must be winding down. May I recommend that the Senators end their day in the manner in which I have just begun mine. You see, my sister, my older sister has just picked me up for breakfast. She had dropped someone off at Midway airport and was stuck in rush hour traffic on the way to get her dear younger brother – me. Due to the delay she had to go to the bathroom – big time. She was debating whether to pick me up or go home first because she had to go so bad. I told her I’d be ready immediately – big mistake.
So, during the entire time, trapped within her car, I received a dissertation on the urgency of a bowel movement from a 70 year old woman; complete with obligatory potty jokes.
I don’t know, but for some reason the above would seem a fitting tribute to the Senate’s all-nighter.

This is an appeal for Obamaclimatecare from the same people who crafted the original that so many people love /sarc
What I’m seeing is a predictable carnival from the radicalized climate warmists using techniques shown to work by Joe McCarthy: marginalize, associate multiple weak links to present the impression of a greater threat, congressional side show, involvement of a sympathetic press, symbolic activities.
Multiple weak link association example: Dr. Spencer, identified as a climate denier and an astro-turfing Christian fundamentalist right-wing conservative crank (http://www.skepticalscience.com/skeptic_Roy_Spencer.htm, http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Roy_Spencer). OMG, the evil just boils over, doesn’t it?
What these morons don’t understand is that McCarthy is probably the single most responsible party for the resurgence of the socialist movement that resulted in them holding office today. This shows they not only don’t learn from the observed record on climate, they learn nothing from history – some of which they’ve re-written!
This is also evidence we’ve entered the post-normal science based post-constitutional era in US politics. This public display of elected officials praising the virtues of suspending the 1st amendment rights of that half of the voting public which chooses another path is chilling.
“Then they came for the climate scientists and there was nobody left to help me”

Never mind the number of twitter comments as cited by Senator Boxer, how much money did they raise during the all nighter? Also, certain Dems up for re-election did not participate. Was that because they don’t believe in it fundamentally or because they are in hiding? Silence is not an option for either question.

What occurred in the Senate overnight was a form of prayer meetin’, where the believers gather to testify and proclaim their fealty to the Gospel of Climate and Sustainability, in the name of the sainted Goracle and his acolytes Obama and Kerry. The occasion, of course, was to acknowledge and prove worthy of the sacred offering of $100 million from the whacko billionaire Tom Steyer to any Democrats shouting hosannahs for The True Climate.
“Great day in the morning! The Climate is bad and getting worse! We have sinned against The Planet, but we will force our fellow Americans to atone with taxes; we will pass laws that force our dear citizens to turn off their lights and drive less, as a fitting sacrifice for the Climate. And we gratefully accept Mr. Steyer’s offering in the name of Holy Sustainability and our Sacred Campaign to keep the Senate in the hands of devoted Democrats, and to regain the House of Representatives from the evil hordes of Heretics and Deni*rs who would divert us from our true and noble Path of fighting Climate Change. Amen!”
Fortunately, the number of Americans who bothered to watch these shenanigans was almost certainly minuscule. But you can bet Mr. Steyer did, and was pleased.

These clowns know not what they do.
There’s a grass-roots effort going in many Democrat-dominated areas.
Republicans are converting to Democrat and becoming “DINOs” = Democrats In Name Only.
The premise being that if you can’t beat them, join them, and force change from within.
This way we can vote the clowns out in the Democratic primaries, where seats are won by narrow margins, and still vote Republican in the main election.
We’re a mounting force and choosing carefully! Join us!

Indeed. Perhaps it would be of some value to imbed and juxtapose both Inhofe’s and Whitehouse’s comments? I, for one, would appreciate a WUWT take on Whitehouse’s rebuttal.

2 points:
… Similar to 1633 when Galileo was imprisoned for his advocacy of heliocentrism. Prior to that in 1616 the Inquisition declared heliocentrism to be formally heretical.
—————————————
Kind of off topic, but No. Galileo was not imprisoned. His house arrest was not for advocacy of heliocentrism. It was for the combination of his already disproven dogma that the earth orbited the sun in a perfect circle, and his arguments about how this changed the authority of the bible. Copernicus, Kepler etc. had already shown that the perfect circle notion was undefinable.

BS. Adorno, Horkheimer, Markuse are. Markuse single-handedly mobilized the youth of the USA for cultural marxism. Adorno and Horkheimer did it in Germany.
Kind of like Romero only they didn’t make movies about zombies, they turned an entire generation into zombies in real life.

When Chris Cillizza of The Washington Post feels compelled to identify this overt campaign cash grab for what it is, it evidences the growing loss of media investment in the “climate change” fraud and the democrat party that perpetrated it (emphasis mine)…

What the Senate’s all-nighter on climate change is really about
[snip]
…there is another more political reason for the decision by Senate Democrats to devote their time to the issue right now. And that issue is campaign cash.
[snip]
And, for those Democrats — and interested donors — who really do care about the issue, it’s an opportunity to show just how much they care. Even if no one expects anything to come of it.

DirkH – the McCarthy era created “commie fatigue” owing to his outlandish showboating and hyperbole. It is a fatigue that exists to this day. But the point being made is these clowns in DC are repeating the worst of Joe’s activities and climate alarmism fatigue is already a reality. The clowns are not helping their cause.

Question: How much does it cost a big donor to sponsor a Senate pajama party? First I learned about the use of the WH as a donor motel during the Clinton regime, then there was the Wall Street sponsored political conventions complete with styrofoam Romanesque columns, and now sponsored pajama parties. I will say I learn a lot more about how things really work behind the curtain from Dems than anyone else.

I didn’t watch the warming fest. But I did see an article about it.
Basically, while they all called for “action” not one one of them actually proposed an action to take.
No legislation was proposed or introduced.
“Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” it was not.
