Watch British Police Protect Road Blocking Climate Protestors

Essay by Eric Worrall

Instead of arresting Just Stop Oil climate protestors, who appear to be maintaining an illegal road block, British police arrested a commuter who lost his temper at police inaction.

Let me simplify it for you Just Stop Oil. Ordinary people hate you.

If the police hadn’t been there to keep the peace, ordinary people would have beaten you up.

Britain supposedly has strict laws against illegally blocking roads, but clearly they weren’t being applied to their fullest extent in this case.

I really hope the gentleman who was arrested got let off with a warning. Who knows what real crimes were being committed, while the police were busy being distracted by the need to prevent ordinary members of the public from giving Just Stop Oil protestors a kicking.

Maybe the police were waiting for reinforcements, so they had enough officers to arrest the protestors, that would be an understandable reason for their hesitation to act. But what I saw on the video looks bad.

WUWT does not condone violence, but I couldn’t help imagining myself in the shoes of the guy who was arrested. We’ve all been in a situation where we were desperate to get somewhere, to keep the boss happy, or get back to our kids. To be stopped by a bunch of petroleum cloth wearing anti oil protestors, on top of all the usual nightmare traffic problems which British drivers face, that would be hard to accept.

It’s just a matter of time before the Brits revolt against the lack of Police enforcement of laws broken by XR and Just Stop Oil (illegally blocking streets) and overcome the police with plastic Zip Ties, taking the impotent Bobbies out of the equation then taking OUT the protesters … perhaps Tar and Feathers will make a comeback

In Philadelphia, the question would be, “did any protesters survive?”

Just Stop Oil seems to exclusively comprise white, comfortably off, middle class posers.

The purpose of the [UK] police service is to uphold the law fairly and firmly; to prevent crime; to pursue and bring to justice those who break the law; to keep the Queen’s peace; to protect, help and reassure the community; and to be seen to do this with integrity, common sense and sound judgement.

They failed

That driver was very clearly provoked by the Just Stop Oil disruptors – walking slowly along a road in front of traffic could only be seen as an attempt to provoke a reaction. They want to be seen as victims, not perpetrators, and will go to any lengths to do so – I’m only amazed that it’s taken this long to get a reaction like this.

I believe that the Bill outlawing some of these disruptive practices has now passed into law, just have to see if Khan’s cops are willing to use it.

The police need to understand the laws they are there to enforce. Their role is not to prevent lawful acts such as protests or citizens clearing the public highway when it is being blocked by anarchists.
They are there to stop crime and prevent injury caused by illegal activities.
It is an offence to block his Majesty’s highway. Those protestors are doing exactly that and the police are complicit in helping them do it.
No one who pays taxes and thus pays the wages pf the police know why the Met and other police forces are so focused on helping anarchists and criminals?
Perhaps the time is here for the Met Police to be charged with criminal conspiracy aiding and abetting others in pursuit of crime?
The Met is Britain’s largest police force. It is currently in special measures i.e. it is considered inadequate. It is being investigated for institutional criminality and incompetence across a range of social areas. Their performance policing JSO demonstrations is simply yet another example where the senior officers are completely out of order.
The police activity in the UK has resulted in public opinion turning against them. That is not a happy situation in a society where policing is allowed by the good will of the people. Our Police are unarmed because they have traditionally been able to rely of society to assist them if things are going badly for them. That historic foundation of policing with the consent and support of the people has all but disappeared in 21st century UK.

“Perhaps the time is here for the Met Police to be charged with criminal conspiracy aiding and abetting others in pursuit of crime?”

Where are the lawyers and the lawsuits against Just Stop Oil for breaking the law and inconveniencing the public, and against the police for failing to enforce the laws?

The radical Left turns the world upside down. And they do it on purpose. It’s time to push back on them because they are disrupting society. They are the ones who should be disrupted.

G’Day Rod,

Police are unarmed because they have traditionally been able to rely on society to assist them if things are going badly for them.”

When the New York (City) Police Department was first formed, the officers were unarmed. If there was a situation where a firearm needed, the officer was expected to borrow one from any nearby civilian. (From Wikipedia: In 1896 Commissioner Roosevelt authorized the purchase of a standard issued revolver for the NYPD. It was the Colt New Police revolver in .32 Long Colt caliber.)

Most US States still have a requirement that if a Law Enforcement Officer requests assistance from a civilian and is refused, it is a misdemeanor offence. (California did away with that requirement in 2019.)

It’s all of the muppets that used to go out of towns and cities into the countryside to go ‘hunt sabbing’ – they’re obviously bored and thinking up new ways to be complete plonkers.

I assume that the protestors gave the lambs back to their mothers? But it may not be that simple, ewes identify their offspring by smell. Any lamb smelling of Ariana Grande Cloud Eau de Parfum for Her or just the smell of unwashed human might have trouble re-attaching to a mother

What you see there is how UK Police behave when they’re being watched..
Obviously The Media were recording the oil protest.

When they think they’re not being watched, they behave a little differently.

Quote:CCTV footage appears to show a police van following two people on a bike in Ely, Cardiff.
It was apparently taken minutes before a crash in which two teenagers died. BBC Verify has established the location is 900m away from the site of the suspected crash.
South Wales Police have been approached for comment.

Hopefully you can see the BBC video
There is another video also from a home CCTV and much closer to where the kids died. The same van was still chasing the bike but claimed to be “on another road and responding something else
IOW: They couldn’t keep up but: the kids ran out of road (or juice in their electric bike) and the police van did catch up.

They then claimed to be ‘Responding to calls about A Road Traffic Incident’
What happened next started a riot.

When police were approached for comment: No Comment
Have you ever seen here a more ‘Frightened dazzled rabbit‘ in all your life.
(that ‘woman’ scares the sh1t outta me)

Meanwhile: Good Police News from Mississippi:
An 11-year-old boy who was shot by an officer after calling police for help has been released from hospital, his family says.

The US had it right all along, Police with guns/firearms are much less dangerous than joy-riding big willy wannabe Schumachers at the wheels of ‘police’ vans.
Seriously.

How long before this Powder Keg really does blow up…

A good time to repeat one of my favorites:
An American tourist was in a Cardiff pub next to a table of rather hefty women. He leaned over and said, “I love the accent on you women of England.” One woman replied angrily,”It’s Wales you idiot!” The American said,” I’m sorry, I love the accent on you whales of England.”
He was released from the hospital 3 weeks later.

I did notice on the video of the police van ‘chasing’ the bike that there was a cut between the video of the bike passing then the video of the van passing. How much footage was edited out between the 2 video’s?

One early report I saw said the van was captured on CCTV about 17 seconds behind the bike but don’t know if it then got closer.

Two boys aged 16 and 15-years on an eBike
To ride a pedal assisted motor bike on the public highway ride on public roads you first need to get a provisional licence and then complete compulsory basic training ( CBT ) to get a certificate. Once you’ve got an AM moped license (or higher) and passed your moped or motorcycle theory and practical tests, you can take a passenger.
Now I don’t know but I’d hazard a guess that the 16 year old hadn’t passed a test, and it was likely that he didn’t have a CBT Certificate. I’d also guess the bike probably didn’t have a pillion seat and footrests. So the police had a duty to take action to check the legality of what was happening

And here in the states same thing. I just had one of my business work trucks ( attached to a trailer) full of valuable tradesman kit and stainless steel chimney parts stolen. And I live in a relatively nice area.On video survallence at 3am. I call 911 after the discovery , was on hold for several minutes. All the officers that came out were very nice but old! No one young wants to do law enforcement here The officer said they can’t even get dispatchers. Truck has yet to be recovered. Turns out there has been a surge of crime recently in our “ safe liberal virtue signaling community here about 20 miles from our overseers in Washington DC. As U said many times will vote with my feet once i retire.

Who in the British government is giving the non-enforcement orders?

The British government is busy playing catch-up and is giving the Police powers to stop the slow walking provocations (among others) – it takes time to get those through Parliament however. In the meantime London Mayor Sadiq Khan, in charge of the Metropolitan Police, is doing everything he can to undermine the use of those powers and brief against the government introducing those powers for the police. Under the control of Sadiq Khan, the Met have sunk to a new low becoming a toothless, woke politically motivated joke of a force – frankly it needs a complete revision of the whole force and put under the direct sole control of the Home Secretary (like all other Police forces in the UK), not a political hack like Khan.

There is a very good reason why most of the Just Stop Oil/Extinction Rebellion disruptions have been within the jurisdiction of the Met – they know that Khan’s cops will give them an easy ride.

This is disgusting, but I can sort of see why this might be justified. Though I’m not saying my reason is the one the police used.

They need to make sure the public’s reaction to these protestors does not escalate. As in refusing to fully stop their car and instead use it to ‘nudge’ the protestors.

The public are more or less rational and knowing the police will hold them to account if they attack the protestors might dissuade someone. The protestors on the other hand are irrational and cracking down on them will just motivate them to escalate Their leaders would likely love it if they could broadcast images of badly beaten protestors.

Police administration for the Brit police have always been hamstrung by politics. The police are usually fine people, but their administrators are always under the thumb of politics.
