Essay by Eric Worrall
The British people have finally had enough, after attempts by the MET to link the heatwave to climate change triggered an unprecedented social media backlash.
Weather forecasters faced accusations of LYING and scaremongering during this month’s extreme heatwave as leading meteorologists condemn unprecedented levels of trolling in hundreds of abusive tweets and emails
- The Met Office’s lead meteorologist asked for ‘a bit of respect’ for his colleagues
- It comes after reports linking the heatwave to climate change riled up viewers
- Climate change made the unprecedented temperatures ‘ten times more likely’
- Online abusers even accused TV meteorologists of lying and being blackmailed

Weather forecasters have been the target of ‘unprecedented levels of trolling’ this month, as keyboard warriors took to social media to accuse TV meteorologists of spreading hysteria during the heatwave.
The BBC‘s weather team said they were inundated with comments on social media telling them to ‘get a grip’, while others questioned the accuracy of their reports as the nation sweltered in heat that got as high as 40C.
Social media trolls seemed whipped up by reports linking the heatwave with secular trends caused by climate change, according to the Royal Meteorological Society who said their forecasters were also targeted along with forecasters from the Met Office.
…
According to the Met Office, climate change made the heatwave ten times more likely – although it is not possible to conclude causation definitively.
BBC meteorologist Matt Taylor said he had found the amount of online abuse levelled at him this month ‘depressing’.
He said: ‘Ít’s a more abusive tone than I’ve ever received.
‘I switched off a bit from it all as it became too depressing to read some of the responses.’
The Royal Meteorological Society also weighed in on the pushback received by their members during the heatwave.
The society’s chief executive Professor Liz Bentley said members had faced ‘public ridicule, accusations of lying or suggestions of being blackmailed’.

WUWT does not condone physical threats or violence. But I understand the anger. Britain faces a horror winter of spiralling price rises and shortages, in my opinion largely a consequence of a long term MET office and BBC climate scare campaign which undermined mainstream political support for reliable energy.
My question, what are the people hurling abuse and threats expecting to achieve?
Before I read Climategate I thought alarmists were all scientific frauds, but after I read Climategate I realised there is a range of motivations. Many if not all of them actually believe. Even when they hide declines or try to have open minded science journal editors fired, or manipulate data from New Zealand which strongly suggests the MWP was global, they think they are being the good guys. So there is no point threatening or hurling abuse. People who believe they are the good guys put up with abuse, because they believe their mission to help others is more important than their personal comfort.
So how do we fix the unaffordable green energy mess the MET and BBC have helped create?
The best course in my opinion is to find and vote for politicians whose priority is fixing today’s problems, rather than politicians whose obsession is what the weather will be like after we are all dead. Even if this means voting for minority party candidates.
Please don’t fall for the political canvasser canard that a minority candidate vote in Britain’s first past the post system is a wasted vote. Politicians watch minority votes like hawks, minority candidate support is their weather vane for what their voters really want.
So long as mainstream political canvassers can cajole you into voting mainstream, they don’t care if you have a few gripes. But a large breakout in favour of climate skeptic candidates would be a real shock to the political system.
Just look at Brexit. Nigel Farage‘s UKIP never achieved sizeable representation in Westminster Parliament. But they came close to a breakthrough. The threat of a voter support breakthrough was enough to persuade then Prime Minister David Cameron to hold the Brexit referendum, which Cameron thought would put the issue to bed. Cameron misjudged and lost.
If nobody had voted for UKIP, even though they knew their candidate was unlikely to win, in my opinion there would have been no Brexit referendum.
The same political formula could work for fixing Britain’s broken, overpriced energy system. If enough British people vote for politicians whose focus is today’s problems, even if those candidates don’t win, politicians will be panicked into responding. It will no longer matter what MET and BBC climate scaremongers believe or say, if they lose their position of influence.
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” – C.S. Lewis.

Eric The left does exactly that imitation calling people names and even trying to kill who the oppose. If we don’t get into face of the people who lie daily we will lose. Theathing people live and lively hood is meat and potatoes of the left. We should never threaten their lives but their lively hoods are fair game. Harassing them at outside their work and homes should be fair game. The right did not create this play book the left did and it about time they get a taste of what they created. We are on the door step of world famine(which may kill over a billion people) all created by these idiots they should be given no quarter.
This has become a War for Truth and hurling abuse and threats are used as weapons because rational thought and reasearched facts have had no impact on the enemy.

What a bunch of ingrates!
Arrogant and precious narcissists with their anti-science claims of rising CO2 forcing increasing the risk of brief Saharan plumes. Rising CO2 is modeled to increase positive Northern Annual Mode conditions, which means a more northerly and less wavy jet stream, that is why the MetO predict warmer drier summers for the UK. While brief Saharan plumes are dependent on negative NAM and a wavier jet stream, and are predictably more common during low solar periods.

New Study Offers a Surprising Timeline For Earth’s Sixth Mass Extinction (msn.com)
Always remember to trust the science and the scientists.
I’m so fed up with all this nonsense, I’m almost to the point of thinking a Sixth Mass Extinction might not be a bad idea. Maybe it’s time to start over in the hopes that the next iteration of Mankind will be more rational and intelligent than homo sapiens?
I doubt it. Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis, Heidelbergensis and the other iterations of Homo Sapiens were outbred by Homo Sapiens Sapiens who was weaker and a little less adaptable to differing conditions (we have to adapt conditions to suit us). The next iteration of Homo Sapiens is likely to be even less capable but just able to breed faster – not a legacy I’d wish on any planet!
I disagree with Eric, he is off the mark. Sitting respectfully like a gentleman while someone is pounding the crap out of you is not a winning strategy. The green devils in government and the mainstream media are lying and cheating plus they have one another’s back. They are not impressed when we respectfully point out exactly how they are lying and cheating, they frankly could care less what we gentlemen think. They know we are basically powerless so long as the green devils control the agenda and the lousy press confirms to us that their lies are true. Wake up Eric.
When weather presenters abuse their roles by incorporating their personal opinions about the presence and causes of climate change into forecasts by whatever method they may choose then the general public have every right to criticise and question their motives.
If the driver of an electric ‘bus warned passengers not to get on board because of the risk of a battery explosion how long before their employer would sack them?
These people are supposed to be professional and yet they and their senior officers prove what a bunch of amateurs they really are.
The nature of the current and future generation of policy influencers and makers is accurately summed up as infantile. This article entitled “The West needs to grow up” by Paul Kingsnorth is a good read and clearly spells out what has been and continues to go wrong in western civilisation: https://unherd.com/?p=439130?tl_inbound=1&tl_groups%5B0%5D=18743&tl_period_type=3&mc_cid=9eaa01ea6e&mc_eid=1eb4f2a0ea. It is also obvious the non-western world has realised what a lot of tosh has been generated over the business of climate change, and are working hard to undo much of the damage that religious cult has imposed. Hand waving, shouting and fearmongering are the traits of bullies, who are actually so insecure in themselves that they need to develop their own little, unrealistic, world(s) and encourage groupthink to sustain them.
Met Office. Given the wealth of publicly available data and earth imagery, who needs forecasters anyway when, if one was intelligent enough a bit of weather history and ability to reason and project, it can be done by oneself. Traditional country folk had the knack before instrumentation.
read this:- you will cheer up, especially the inevitable conclusions and the outright condemnation of the ridiculous German energy policy and its shutting all their NPPs!

“The biggest addicts among the European Union countries, led by Germany, must compensate for the damage they inflict on the indirect victims of their actions. If you want cheap but bloody gas from Russia, at least absolve yourself from the blame of supporting the war in Ukraine through providing it with money and arms.
Even then, would Russian gas and oil still be worth it?
To avoid so-called energy starvation in Europe, we should put the costly and ineffective green revolution on pause at the moment, and invest instead in nuclear power plants and recycle the fossil fuels in our ground.
Be it coal or, in the case of Estonians, oil shale. This implies getting our hands dirty, but at least we won’t have the blood of Ukrainians on our sleeves.
The current green energy technology does not provide us with energy independence, especially in winter. Let’s not forget, the green revolution is partly to blame for European countries becoming dependent on Russian gas. Germany has shut down its nuclear power plants at the insistence of the Greens and Russian gas was considered then ideal transitional energy.
We now face the result of that judgement.”
HOORAH!
This makes sobering reading on “the big picture” of which climate change is just a part:

The problem Mr Worrall, is that the cost of running a campaign is several thousand pounds per candidate. First, you have to lodge a deposit with those managing the running of elections (designed to stop timewasters) – it’s well over £1000. Then, to even get a modicum of voter awareness, you will need to leaflet about 20,000-30,000 homes at least three times during a campaign. Call it 100,000 leaflets to get delivered. That doesn’t come cheap.
The reality is that you need to be rich to run as a minority party candidate.
Most rich people aren’t on the front line when it comes to suffering from energy crises.

Anecdotal, but…
I monitored the temperatures between 17 and 19 July very carefully at my location in rural SE England.
On 18 July the max recorded (I make no claims about the accuracy of amateur equipment, but it was properly sited albeit too close to a tarmac farm courtyard) was 36 C. On the other 2 days of the much touted “heatwave” it topped out at 32 C.
Here is the interesting thing. The last time we had weather comparable was in June/July 2001 and again in June 2003.
That same equipment measured similar temperatures then, albeit the absolute max measured was 34 C. The 2001 heat lasted longer at 5 days, with 14/15 days of warm weather with daily maxima at above 28 C. I know, I was working outside in it.
The Met Office relentlessly peddles an agenda. Frankly they deserve ridicule and have earned contempt. A sad fall for British meteorology, once so good that Ike committed an invasion army to a very narrow 6 June 1944 window based on what was predicted some days before – it was that or delay indefinitely because (if I recall correctly) the right tides wouldnt come round again for several weeks.
Not just social media…..

Respect is earned! Not granted because the Met Office believes they deserve respect for their fallacious claims.
Believe!?
What is this, the Santa Clause defense!? Irresponsible concern for the Met O self claimed victims?
Shame!
Which group of entrenched corrupt politicians are you looking at!?
Do have or intend to publish a list?
Are you going to form your own political website, supporting candidate you believe are trying to fix real problems?
Which should draw attention to you and bring you thousands of phony claims to “fix today’s problems” and demands that you support them, or else.
