Priest sews his mouth shut over ‘muting of climate science by Murdoch media’

Updated: 03/08/2021A priest has sewn his lips together to protest against the “suppression” of climate science in Rupert Murdoch’s media outlets.
Reverend Tim Hewes, 71, carried out the symbolic act outside News UK’s office in Central London yesterday. It’s home to the UK arm of Murdoch’s global news empire, News Corps.
In a video released on YouTube, Hewes calls Murdoch a “climate change denier, dissembler and delayer” and says the media mogul has influence over governments which has led to a lack of meaningful action on the climate crisis.
Alongside Hewes, a Church of England priest in the Diocese of Oxford and a former dentist, was Reverend Mark Coleman, 62. Coleman took a letter into the building addressed to the Environment Editor at The Times newspaper, asking him to meet and discuss the situation.

The Reverend is part of Christian Climate Action, a branch of the climate movement Extinction Rebellion.

What can I say – I think most of us wish the Anglican Church would focus on more immediate problems.

I was in two minds whether to cover this story. There is a legitimate concern that publicity is what the perpetrator of this gross act of self mutilation wants, and I’m helping to supply that publicity. More misguided attention seekers might follow his example.
But I think it is important to hilight the true state of mind of the most extreme climate activists in Britain. What will their next move will be, when self mutilation fails to deliver the outcome they want? I do not want to be anywhere near the action when we all learn the answer to that question.
In saner times this guy would have been sectioned for this.
He should come over here and stand for election as a democrat.

The authorities in Britain and elsewhere are ruling to force all population NOT TO DIE from C19 sequestering normal, healthy and working people in their houses for weeks.
But, on the other hand, they do not prevent those idiots to self-mutilate, do not lockdown them where they should be surveilled and (probably; I did not check) do not ask Youtube and the like to cancel their movies…
Thus: normal, healthy and working people are prosecuted and have their rights and liberties coherced; however, all the fools and maniacs are free to do what they wish, as they wish, when they wish and where they wish.
If you’re trying to destroy Western civilization, it’s a feature, not a bug.

I thought about what this man’s act might signify from the perspective of what Jesus preached. From the “Sermon on the mount”;
“And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Maybe this guy thought Jesus was saying an eye or hand could actually be responsible for the wicked things one did making use of them . . and is a pathological liar . . ; )

But, his behavior is characteristic of a lot of people in the alarmist camp. They have delusions about the importance of the cause they are willing to sew for.
This reminds me of the tongueless women Jamesian Society members in “The World According to Garp”, and also that brother of the Atlanta Olympics bomber who cut his hand off to show how much he believed in his brother’s innocence.

The climate isn’t doing anything it hasn’t done before. He ought to be more concerned about how some of his fellow clerics treat children.

The primary duty of a Priest is to tell people about Jesus. How can he fulfill his most important duty with his lips sewn shut?

The Climate Belief Cult is fundamentally a destructive one, with hatred of humanity at its core. It is a belief system guarranteed to drive those who are already mentally unstable to acts of extremism and destructiveness, whether directed outwardly or towards oneself. It also contains the very seeds of its own destruction, and I believe we are witnessing that destruction now.

All the (gobsmacked) commentary on this guy and I started wondering why he’s a former dentist.
Struck off? Patients only went once and it was a bad experience? Word got around?
Maybe dentistry was the one thing he was good at. Being a nutter, of course he’d give it up to satisfy his loony side. After all, isn’t it just plain crazy to give up a lucrative practice in a field where you have talent and a future?

Western societies have shown they do not have an answer to this question.
I would prefer they set themselves on fire – Vietnamese Buddhist monk style. It would fit better with the standard climate activist practice of releasing a lot of CO2 while crying about CO2.
Just as long as they do it in a courtyard surrounded by non-flammable objects.
