Sir David Attenborough hid the truth about hundreds of walrus falling off Siberian cliffs to their deaths a few years ago – he insisted this was due to climate change, but we now know he was well aware the tusked beasts fell because they were being stalked by predatory polar bears. Since he was willing to tell outright falsehoods about dying walrus to powerful elites at the 2019 World Economic Forum, I expect he’d say anything to advance his agenda with members of the UN Security Council.
Headline quotes from Attenborough’s address to the UN Security Council today:
“Climate change a threat to global security”
Climate change could, within a lifetime, destroy “entire cities and societies“
“Climate change is biggest threat modern humans have ever faced”
In other words, lots of emotional hyperbole from a showman who wants to leave a legacy. This is not the dispassionate science we require to make sensible decisions about the future. Attenborough spouted contrived nonsense about walrus and now spouts contrived nonsense about climate change.
Attenborough is as senile as Sleepy Joe.
yes, and stark examples of elder abuse by their handlers in both cases.
I have heard that speech before 60 years ago, Paul R Ehrlich was Attenborough’s inspiration for this dire warning. “Population Bomb” he called it. We were taught it at school as the truth, how could it be wrong.
I can remember the consensus agreement of “serious and academic minds” to Ehrlich’s predictions. Hundred’s of millions would die of hunger, civilisations would collapse in the 1970’s. The UK would be wiped of the face of the earth, so dire was the situation.
Perhaps they did, but I must admit it all passed me by.
However I did not foresee SARS Cov 2 coming, and neither did anyone else, including all the “serious and academic” minds who now desperately want to link Covid to the favourite “extinction belief”, climate change. When they do this, as Attenborough has done, his credibility drops to zero.
John,
May I recommend PJ O’Rourke’s wonderful demolition of Paul Ehrlich and Al Gore in his chapter on ecology in “All the Trouble in the World”(1992).
It followed the publication of Al Gore’s first tome, “ Earth in the Balance”(1992).
Other than by the Board of Governors of Stanford where Ehrlich has been appointed a Professor of Sociology, it would be difficult to take seriously a writer who predicted Britain would be a herd of ranging tribes scrabbling for food by 2000.
But his mantle has been taken up by Sir David and many Malthusian followers.
DA despite his cuddly grandpa persona is a deeply misanthropic person who no doubt entertains genocial thoughts. He has lived long enough to see the utter rubbish that everything Paul Ehrlich said really was and is. It’s shameful that he still peddles the same catastrophist necrophilia.
Ever since he made the life of David Bellamy very difficult at the BBC and his claims in the 70’s of an ice age approaching I have not paid any attention to him.
Facebook continues to censor links to WUWT from Australia
so ditch f u over book and come here direct
More walruses hauling out onto the shore might be due to a growing population.
What is the data on walrus population or is this as politically corrupted as the polar bear population data?
Maybe the population is growing?
How do the catastrophist-necrophiles twist this into a bad news story?
but he Loves being seen as a climate warrior
a sage whos saving the planet
and making a tidy lifetime income is just a bonus
ruining others lives or incomes matters not to him
As a young person I grew up with Attenborough’s nature documentaries and loved watching them. Now I despise him. Great legacy “Sir” David. You just blew your life’s work out of the window.
He is a liar, a fraud. Not only lying about this, but also about polar bears ‘having’ to hunt narwhales because of climate change. A quick google and you find talk of that back into the 1970s.
He is a bulshitting liar.
When science is corrupted by politics, how can you believe any of it? Algore corrupted it all. I do not believe any of it.
