A highly credible gentleman wrote me as follows, concerning his recent conversation with an Ottawa insider.
The insider, he said, had been working on an advisory group to the Trudeau government. The group was not formed to discuss policy for the 5 year horizon that governments are usually interested in but to develop policies for the further future, 20 to 40 years out. The implication was that the group had concluded that the present economic model was flawed and had to be replaced. “Unregulated consumerism was unsustainable and people would have to learn to make do with less. The government would have to have more control over people to enforce their austerity and the wealth of developed nations would have to be redistributed to help undeveloped nations.”
These are not new ideas. For decades, intellectuals and politicians have argued that our consumer society, based on individual market demand, is a flawed system that generates waste, excess and environmental degradation.
The insider’s assessment also reflects the current underlying motivation behind the rise of climate change as the defining issue of our time. The words reflect the motives of environmentalists and climate activists who are using the climate “emergency” as a front for larger political and ideological ambitions. What they are pursuing as an economic revolution ushered in through the back door. They are yelling fire and then using the resultant fear to impose a new economic and political order.
In a recent Washington Post report, one of the leading players in the rise of New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal let the cat out of the bag. Saikat Chakrabarti, chief of staff for Ocasio-Cortez, said: “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all… Do you guys think of it as a climate thing? Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”
Naomi Klein, in her new flamethrower, “On Fire, The Burning Case for a Green New Deal”, also makes it clear that the climate is a “powerful motivator” to overthrow capitalism. “The idea is a simple one: In the process of transforming the infrastructure of our societies at the speed and scale that scientists have called for, humanity has a once-in-a- century chance to fix an economic model that is failing the majority of people on multiple fronts. … Challenging these underlying forces is an opportunity to solve several interlocking crises at once.”
The clear intent is to use the global warming smokescreen to restrict economic and political freedoms by transforming Western countries into tightly controlled totalitarian states.
The idea that climate alarmism can be the foundation for radical economic change has a long history.
Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace provided an early warning of this covert socialist campaign in “Hard Choices for the Environmental Movement – The Rise of Eco-Extremism”, in 1994: “Surprisingly enough, the second event that caused the environmental movement to veer to the left was the fall of the Berlin Wall. Suddenly the international peace movement had a lot less to do. Pro-Soviet groups in the West were discredited. Many of their members moved into the environmental movement bringing with them their eco-Marxism and pro-Sandinista sentiments.”
Justin Trudeau has stated that he admires the Chinese “basic dictatorship”. He said: “There is a level of admiration I actually have for China because their basic dictatorship is allowing them to actually turn their economy around on a dime and say we need to go green, we need to start, you know, investing in solar.”
Trudeau’s deeply flawed climate and energy policies have already done enormous harm to Canada. Governments have adopted costly, ineffective policies based on false global warming/climate change alarmism, the greatest scientific fraud in history. The foreign-funded green anti-oil-pipeline fraud has cost Canada over $120 billion in lost revenues, an enormous, needless loss. Living costs are increasing rapidly and living standards are falling.
On September 23, 2019, Justin Trudeau committed to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 if re-elected.
Zero-carbon means huge changes for society. Prof Sir Ian Boyd, the government’s chief environment scientist, said the public had little idea of the scale of the challenge from Britain’s “Net Zero CO2” emissions target. Roger Harrabin of the BBC wrote: “People must use less transport, eat less red meat and buy fewer clothes if the UK is to virtually halt greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the government’s chief environment scientist has warned. … We will all have to accept big lifestyle changes – travel less, eat less, consume less. But eventually some form of compulsion or rationing will be necessary, if climate targets are to be met. The Science and Technology Select Committee … officially announced “In the long-term, widespread personal vehicle ownership does not appear to be compatible with significant decarbonisation”. When they ultimately find themselves being told what they can and cannot consume, where they can travel and what foods they are allowed to eat, they will be furious about the way they have been misled.”
But these radical changes to society have even more catastrophic consequences. The socialists want total control, and have a history of extreme incompetence, environmental destruction and violent repression of dissent.
Costly, ineffective green energy schemes have destabilized the electric grid, damaged the environment and squandered trillions of dollars of scarce global resources. Properly allocated, these wasted trillions might have ended malaria and world hunger.
The number of shattered lives caused by radical-green activism rivals the death tolls of the great killers of the 20th Century- Stalin, Hitler and Mao. Radical greens advocate similar tightly-controlled totalitarian states and are indifferent to the resulting environmental destruction and human suffering… …and if unchecked, radical environmentalism will cost us our freedom.

When the democratic processes allowing effective representation of the people, has been hijacked by the agents of totalitarianism then the time may have arrived to review the working arrangements of the parliamentary process.
That dilemma and lack of true representation of the people is not restricted to Canada. The USA is suffering a similar take over by the agents of the totalitarian dream. Here in the UK, the people have been ignored for the past three and a half years by the establishment. It is a very close call whether the referendum to leave the EU will be delivered or continue to be blocked. The totalitarianists have the UK establishment working every trick known to man/woman to stop the people having their legitimately expresses will enacted.
This will not end well if the will of the people is ignored.
The tax payers are getting a raw deal, their views are being ignored and their wealth is being squandered of ever more expensive pointless pseudo climate solutions.
We may be reaching a point when a tax strike is required, to remind the establishment just who actually pays their salaries. It is not the UN it is not the Green Socialists, it is not the EU it is the people… just the people.
Forgot France and Italy there – the EU forced regime change on Italy, are still at it against Austria. And the French taxpayer reminds Macron that diesel prices are more important than cake.
There is no way to consider these as separate issues – it’s the entire transatlantic.
And with an immanent financial crash worse than 2008, the extreme madness is everywhere evident – what will President Trump do in such a crisis? London is taking no chances and going all out to make sure he gets no second term, as RIIA ordered. Pelosi got her marching orders.
For the over smug Parliamentarians/establishment who imagine they are above the standard and behaviour the people demand, they might like to reflect on this speech given on the floor of Parliament in 1653.
Oliver Cromwell’s Speech
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter’d your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil’d this sacred place, and turn’d the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress’d, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!”
Oliver Cromwell – April 20, 1653
Government Is Like Fire, a Dangerous Servant and a Fearful Master
Someone ought to read that Cromwell speech to the Democrats in Congress. It describes them perfectly.
Cromwell. My My. How Rule over a person creates greed for more rule-making a common citizen a slave. 3 Types of slavery, Physical-mental-economic. In USA mid-1800’s slave song, Swing Low Sweet Chariot. Looked Over Jordan, what did I see.
Form 1040 tells you what you are. A Slave.
Before the federal reserve system (direct taxation)even a slave could become a free man. Now the US has become a Fake News country.
When you get a spare moment perhaps you will translate your comment into rational dialogue for us Fred. By the way, Swing Low is the unofficial Rugby anthem here in the UK.
I agree totally with the article:
In 2007 I spoke to a school friend after many decades of having no contact with him. We had great email and telephone conversation, he came to visit me from from abroad, we had a lot of fun, it was very nice indeed to revive our great friendship, which had been lost in Limbo for so long.
At the time I was very involved in the “climate issue” as a skeptic, as an engineer and as one who had spend most of his time to read/interpret graphs and data for electronic components, inclusive some years of working for the wind turbine industry in the mid 80’es.
So, one day I voiced my skeptic climate/Co2/temperature thoughts in an email, also referring to major scientists’ conclusions, stating that the Gore Scare was mostly bollocks.
A few days later I received an email back from my rich academic friend, biologist and philosopher, solely with reference to a needed economic transformation away from current free enterprise and not a single counter argument about the climate. – it took three or four years, before we spoke to each other again. My friend sadly died died this past spring.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the Canadina federal government is heading in that direction, I know some of the provinces are going that way.
For example Nova Scotia is putting together something they call the “Sustainable Prosperity Act”, which gives their provincial government control of every aspect of business and private life there. It even includes a Cap and Trade carbon exchange, just for good measure. The local MSM loves it.
The most disheartening part is the opposition so-called Conservatives have not said a word to oppose it. Wow.
The same goes for EU Europe.
Dutch farmers blocked hundreds of miles of major roads with their tractors to protest what they say are attempts to scapegoat their industry and paint them as a “problem” that needs fixing in discussions over climate change.
Up to 10,000 farmers took to the highways in their tractors on Monday to slowly make their way to The Hague causing 620 miles (998km) of traffic jams and the worst morning commute in the country’s history.

https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2019/10/minister-tells-angry-farmers-she-is-listening-as-thousands-gather-in-the-hague/
Well judging by the protests from the farmers in Holland the push back against pointless draconian climate justified policies, has finally taken physical form.
The tractors are a modern day tank, I hope the authorities understand what they have done.
Reading the twitter comments, it looks like they have the vast support of the people. Very few are taking the position that things need to change to save the climate.
There is hope, yet.
Great to see RT, as being such a large news agency, providing this news and at the time allowing comments from skeptics.
The Left mustn’t think that we are just going to roll over and give into them: we are going to fight back. Mark my words; WE-WILL-FIGHT-BACK!

“Prince Charles has just given us 18 months to save the world. Over the past years, the prince and his father (among other inbred aristocrats of Europe) have taken an incredible interest in the safety of the earth from the pollution emitting machines who greedily consume and reproduce without any consideration for Mother Gaia. ”
Of course this is whispered by very covert insiders.
It’s not poverty and dictatorship, rather eugenics, as Huxley himself wrote in 1946 when that had gotten a bad rap :
“Political unification in some sort of world government will be required… Even though… any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable.”
You can note one important thing , those that wish to overthrow capitalism, and Naomi Klein is a classic exmaple , never take the opportunity offered by the ‘socialists paradise ‘ such has Cuba of living under none-capitalist countries. So are they into sadomasochism or are they merely talking out of their rear end ?
Great Posting, Allan. I have worked and traveled extensivly around the world and been President, CEO, and Director of a Canadian company. For sure, the greatest percentage of professionals are encountered in Canada as compared to other countries, my USA included. How leftist sentiment can drive the Canadian future into the ditch is amazing (and upsetting) to see. Several important countries around the world are facing monumental events/elections in the near future and it could go either way. What a stunning realization, humans in their highly evolved form could regress? And Climate Change is one of their favorite tools for this dismantling? At the minimum get out and vote, encourage others to do so, and be prepared.
This part got my attention: humanity has a once-in-a- century chance to fix an economic model that is failing the majority of people on multiple fronts. … – Klein (above)
This is hogwash. Pure hogwash. The capitalist model that these people so despise, because they have no control of it, is exactly what allows people to thrive and move ahead. When I was a little girl, my father’s paycheck as a university department head was not high, but we had a garden where we could grow enough stuff to supply ourselves food for a year for a family of five (2 adults and 3 children). Scholarships were available then, and even more are available now.
As time passed, things got even better, and eventually, we ended up in a 4 bedroom house with enough room for another garden (no chickens this time, they were cheaper at the grocery store) and guess what? People plant suburban and urban gardens everywhere there’s room now. Some even raise a few chickens for the eggs the hens lay.
So how is this WORSE than that asinine fake Utopia that the Socialists think they can create, when they can’t even tell you where their food comes from, or why they buy clothing online when they could get patterns and fabric and do what I (LOVE) doing: make their own freaking clothing??????
Road construction in this area is nearly done, just ahead of winter weather. (The plows will be busy this winter.) The average wage for people in that line of work is published at the sites where work is going on: as much as $40’/hour, depending on the specific line of work. So just HOW IS THIS WORSE than what these crackpots offer? HOW????? OTR Truckers make d***d good money hauling goods from a depot to a distributor, so HOW IS THIS WORSE? HOW????
Not one of those morons can come up with an answer. All they know about is they want to control everything and everybody, but they can’t even control their own b*(*el movements. The more we know about them, the better. You can’t fight off the enemies of freedom, or a despotic slimeball, unless you know what they are up to.
They do NOT want people to have equality and opportunity, never did, and never will. It is pure, unadulterated crap spouted by crapweasels.
Thanks for the article, Allen.
You are entirely correct Sara – thank you!
Some personal observations – I’ve also travelled on business to Castro’s Cuba.

In July of 1989 I entered East Berlin and East Germany through Checkpoint Charlie. The dreaded communist Honecker regime was still in power then; it was just four months before the Wall fell.
I wrote the following long ago and I didn’t keep track of dates then – probably about 2010.
THIS FEARFUL, REPRESSIVE SCENARIO IS WHAT THE LEFTISTS WANT FOR AMERICA.
____________________________
I had the privilege and misfortune of travelling into East Germany in July of 1989, just before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
We were on a business mission to West Germany, and somehow our bosses had committed us at the last minute to a brief detour into the East.
One of our group refused to go, saying it was a despicable totalitarian sh!thole, so we agreed to meet him in Cologne.
We flew to Tegel airport in West Berlin, and were escorted by a Stasi driver though West Berlin. It was Friday night, and West Berlin looked exciting, electric..
We travelled though the Berlin Wall at Checkpoint Charlie, and the world changed. I had been sitting in the front seat beside the driver snapping photos, but when I tried to take one of the East German checkpoint, I felt resistance as I tried to lift my camera. The Stasi driver’s hand was on my camera holding it down, even as he looked the other way, talking through his window to the East German border guard.
We took a sharp left and then a sharp right onto the main street, called Unter den Linden. The majestic Brandenburg Gate was visible just behind us. As we passed the Reichstag, I lifted my camera to snap a picture. The driver stopped quickly to assist my photo, and it was suddenly obvious that there were no other vehicles on the street, and no pedestrians either.
We stayed at the Metropol Hotel that first night, and went for a walk after dinner. I had asked my dinner hosts if I could go for a jog in the morning, and was cautioned that “We do not jog in East Berlin” I then asked if I could go for a long walk, and was assured, with a telling look, “You can walk anywhere in East Berlin – you will be perfectly safe, not like your London and New York”.
We soon found out what he meant – every block had eight small kiosks staffed with police, two on each side of the street. At any time we were within easy view of perhaps ten such police posts. Again, we were the only people on the street. The police talked quietly with each other on their telephones, and seemed to know that we were no cause for alarm. Their primary job to prevent any attempts by East Germans to defect to the Western embassies located on Unter den Linden.
In our brief stay, we visited a mine to view some equipment, had interminable meetings in a very hot room, learned that the local cola beverage was called Prik Cola, and found that our business colleagues in East Germany were pretty human, much like ourselves.
I also had sufficient liberty to get away from our group, and was able to observe that East German infrastructure was crumbling, the roads, buildings, sewage systems, cars, trains, heavy equipment, electrics, electronics, etc. etc. etc. were fifty years out-of-date and falling apart. Environmental degradation by industry was severe and disgusting.
More significantly, the East German people were a fearful lot – frightened to death of me, lest someone think they were communicating with me and report them to the dreaded Stasi. Those condemned to the Stasi, and there were many, would lose their jobs and could wind up in prison – their lives would be ruined.
My friend was right – East Germany was a vicious totalitarian state, and worse. We all decided that we had seen enough, and agreed to leave a day early.
We took a taxi to the Wall, and negotiated our way through Checkpoint Charlie again, this time without the assistance of our Stasi driver, and spent the extra day walking around West Berlin.
We saw a memorial to those who had been killed trying to escape through the Wall. The last death took place a few months earlier in February 1989, when Chris Gueffroy died trying to escape into West Berlin. Gueffroy was hit in the chest by ten shots and died in the border strip. He was 20 years old.
Several months later the Wall fell, and I stayed up all night watching the celebrations on CNN.
Now that was a good day!
Epilogue:
I recall our Canadian NDP leaders extolling the virtues of East Germany to the Canadian public, and their stories being dutifully reported by the Canadian press – how East Germany was the “Economic Engine of the Soviet Union”, “The Workers’ Paradise”, and all that other BS. I shall never forgive the Canadian left for these self-serving lies, and I will never believe a word they say.
A few years later, I was back in Berlin on another business trip. Although I no longer jogged, I walked to the Brandenburg Gate. Then, I broke into a slow jog, and ambled my way through the Brandenburg Gate and down Unter den Linden.
You see, now, we do jog in East Berlin.
Thanks for posting that recollection, Allen. I knew what East Berlin was really like, because one of my history teachers had been stationed in West Berlin long before the Wall fell, and he knew what it was like over there. And a very good friend, who was stationed in West Germany near the southern parts of the Wall (mostly razor wire and other fencing that was loaded with mines, had photos of East German soldiers shooting photos of him and his platoon. He and his platoon helped an escaped East German soldier who had climbed that razor wire to safety and got him medical treatment. He said he was surprised at how skinny the soldier was.
Please keep posting and exposing what Those People say and do. Awareness is a powerful weapon.
Thank you for that story.
Allan, paranoia can be treated you know!
No, I don’t think I’m paranoid, troll-boy – the many pieces of evidence lead to only one credible conclusion – that stated in the article.
But if YOU ever feel paranoid, just remember the old adage:
“Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you!” 🙂
Troll boy? Only people who are not sure of their position have to resort to infantile cheap shots.
As for paranoia, anyone who would seriously suggest that any Canadian political party could possible transform the country into something like a failed communist state has absolutely no understanding of Canadians as people or the political system that they have. Realistically, how do you think the population would ever tolerate such a thing? As long as we have elections, any government moves to implement what you are suggesting would be quickly stopped at the next election. If you fear something that is impossible, doesn’t that make you paranoid?
Finally, as for WUWT, I find the tendency towards a “Fox News” imitation style of website very disappointing indeed.
So I “disappoint” you, Andrew troll-boy? Did I invade your save space too, little snowflake?
Excellent!
The great thing about writing articles like this is you inform and delight your friends, and inform and “disappoint” your detractors.
Stay “disappointed” troll-boy – it looks good on you.

Care to actually point to anything Allan said that is wrong?
Or are snide comments all your paid to produce?
One constant around the world. The less capitalism, the more the poor suffer.
Look around the world, where ever you find extreme poverty, you find extreme socialism.
Even in China, they have improved the lot of the poor by allowing a measure of capitalism.
From the article: “Zero-carbon means huge changes for society. But eventually some form of compulsion or rationing will be necessary, if climate targets are to be met.”
I really can’t see the people of the UK putting up with these kinds of restrictions. I *know* the people of the United States are not going to agree to any of this.
As soon as the public understands what the Alarmists/Greens have in store for them, they are going to reject it bigtime.
Try taking my bacon and ham from me. Just… try….
Luckily, my pork products self-identify as vegan, so I’m good…
Communism by any other name…..
If the Democrats get their way and destroy the US economy and trash the Constitution, I’ll be heading north into Alberta…where I can ignore government like most of the natives do…Aye?
To trash the Constitution has always been the Democrats goal. The US was not meant to be a democracy. The Founding Fathers know the damage democracy does to a free society. By choosing the name ‘Democrats’ they told you exactly what their plan was. BIG (Brother) Government.
The “World Government” folks at the UN (and elsewhere) are convinced that rationing of resources is the primary solution to supporting the world’s population in future, hand in hand with their aphrodisiacal desire for power. Knowing that people won’t accept rationing without a “crisis” to focus on, they have selected climate and environment as their focus. Unfortunately “they know not what they do” as capitalism and free markets have resulted in humanity being better off in the world than ever before. U.N. needs to refocus their efforts on distribution of condoms.
Actually DmacKenzie. The UN would be better off and so would the world beyond their headquarters if they championed capitalism. The great plus would be richer inhabitants on Earth, along with a much lower birth rate and a reducing world population all achieved without them actually having to engage in giving out condoms.
Can’t wait to learn “newspeak” and get my own official, commemorative 1984, green-as-can-be, carbon neutral, organic, socially just TV that watches me more than I watch it.
I’m sure there is a word generator out there.

Seeing what passes for art these day, I’m pretty sure that anyone with an arts degree (which are dodgy to begin with) spends more time having this crap stuffed into them than they do actually learning art.
Could someone answer this question: If the US or Canada is lost to these fools, what happens to places like the Caribbean Island Nations like Aruba, Curacao, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Bermuda, Belize, Dominica, Barbados, St Kitts and Nevis…. you get my point. How will these nations be affected?
And just where do you think “these fools,” are going to have their 2nd and 3rd vacation/winter homes built?
Surely not on Staten or Long Island, ….. or a neighbor to the Obamas.
I am curious. (Forgive my ignorance)
Is it possible (Legally) for a Canadian province to secede?
The question was answered violently down here in the states as an emphatic No.
Well, the new law that the previous Liberal government of Jean Chretien put in place after Quebec came within 50,000 votes says “no”.
It is untested, however.
BTW, even Canadians find this boring, but scroll down to the bottom for the “latest”:

Nova Scotia can afford such foolishness only as long as Alberta pays the bills – for Nova Scotia and all the other provinces.
Here is a summary of tax transfers from province to province. Since 1961, only Ontario, Alberta and BC are net positive, contributing more than they took out. Now, only Alberta is positive – Ontario’s economy has been largely destroyed by costly, intermittent, imbecilic green energy policies.

History tells us that the first into the tumbrils or the three ton truck come the ‘revolution’ are the noisy intellectuals. The rather terse new regime doesn’t want chatter. Be careful what you wish for.
Indeed. If past revolutions are anything to go by, the same adults who are coddling these brats won’t know what hit them when the little zombies have run out of “climate deniers” to eat.
Or, as I say to people who think its ok to punch nazis: “Don’t forget, someone, somewhere on the political spectrum thinks YOU’RE a nazi, so don’t expect much assistance”.
One thing I really notice here is that Trudeau’s main opposition in the current election, Andrew Scheer appears to have fully bought in to the warmist narrative as well, despite promising to repeal the carbon tax. See, for instance, the recent questions to, and answers from Scheer on CBC television. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but it seems as though Canada’s main stream politicos will never get it, unless some scientific high priest eventually cuts them right off at the knees somehow?
I’m not a Liberal supporter but nevertheless I see a problem with this piece. There is a federal election campaign under way right now in Canada and this article could easily be construed as a party-political campaign contribution. I’m no lawyer but the posting on WUWT of party-political campaign material is surely not within this site’s remit and in Canada may even be illegal unless it is declared as such.
Andrew – I had a similar concern, so I made inquiries with a major Canadian newspaper and was assured that publishing this article was not a problem.
I have been told by two journalists that the likely reason the press are ducking this article is because they don’t want to lose their share of the $600 million that the Liberals have used to buy their loyalty – so they print soft-stories about Trudeau’s social gaffes, but nothing material that could do him real harm.
The newspaper industry is struggling to stay alive, and that government grants may be essential for their economic survival. “Don’t bit the hand that feeds you.”

Just more evidence of the evil of left wingers.
There desire to make sure that nobody but themselves are permitted to inform the people about elections and politicians.
The CBC had the debate between supposedly undecided voters and yesterday, it was the turn of Conservative Leader Andrew Sheer. The low point was reached when some nobody voter claimed that his grandchildren will be fried by climate change and he asked the politician what he plans to do about that… And the politician obliged with stating his climate change plan.
None of them could read a satellite image and explain the weather events on it if their lives depended on it.
Absurdity of those two discussing a a subject they have no clue about.
Is that democracy in Canada?
“Absurdity of those two discussing a subject they have no clue about.
Is that democracy in Canada?”
Yes, and also in the USA, Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand …
We are governed by scoundrels and imbeciles.
They will have to pull my gas guzzling snow blower from my cold dead hands!
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

What’s hard to understand is that when the math say’s Canada’s GHG emissions of 1.8% of global emissions is so miniscule that 100% reduction won’t do anything why would a 20% or 30% do anything. Can we understand simple math,.
Here’s the math to understand the potential Canadian 0.0058% Global CO2 reduction.
• NOAA source: total Natural CO2 emissions about 210 billion tonnes of carbon (annual)
• NOAA source: man made fossil Fuel etc 38.2 billion tonnes of carbon
• Canadian CO2 emissions 722 Mega tonness
• Natural + Global-Man-made, 210 +38.2 = 248.2 Giga tones Total CO2
• 722,000,000 / 248,200,000,000 = 0.29% , this 0.29% is Canada’s total contribution to the carbon cycle
• If Canada cuts it’s CO2 by 20% that would leave Canada with 577.9 Mega tones total emissions
• 722,000,000 – 577,900,000 = 144,100,000 tonnes CO2 reduction
• Sooooooo 144,100,000 / 248,200,000,000 = 0.0058% total CO2 reduction Globally
BTW that figure of 210 Billion tonnes for natural CO2 emissions from NOAA is probably bogus. NOAA is a warmest-alarmist organisation and they deliberately low ball this figure, other science bodies put this figure at around 700 billion tonnes. This makes Canada’s CO2 reduction even less than 0.0058% of total global CO2
