So what does “climate justice” have to do with women’s rights and pussyhats?

I’ve never understood what “climate justice” is all about. I understand it even less now.

This happened in my town today:

Hundreds march in downtown Chico for women’s rights

I could not help but notice this photo, and the elements within.

People holding signs and cheering speeches gathered Saturday in City Plaza for the third annual Chico Women’s March in Chico. (Kayla Fitzgerald — Enterprise-Record)

Me thinks they are a bit confused.

What do you think?

Bemused Bill
January 19, 2019 8:39 pm

Moooo…munch munch munch munch…..mooooo!! Who knows what they are bellowing about…free abortions, free sanitary products, climate justice for hysterical moo cows?….and who really cares anyway? Maybe that’s what Melanias jacket was about? I notice all the sane women I know in Australia laugh at them, as do I, and Paula on this site seems bemused by the bellowing bovines of Chico as well.
Trump has more women working for him in executive positions than any other CEO on the planet…and Hillary has never hired a woman in an executive position…she did represent rapists in court however and went on to use those fine skills of coercion to violate the woman Bill had violated before her.
Trump Towers…was built by a woman. The only such project ever to be built by a woman.

Me thinks they doth protest too much, and they don’t even know what they are actually protesting about anymore. We should realize that most of these people are just kids and young adults and still wet behind the ears. Every generation needs to protest something, but at least my generation from the 1960’s protested the Vietnam war and later in the early 1970’s, nuclear testing in Amchitca and the South Pacific. Whether you agree or disagree with the Vietnam war, an/or some of the seeds of the early environmental movement, at the time, those were legitimate protests. By a demographic bulge of kids known as the baby boomers. While I was on the front lines of the creation of Greenpeace in the early 1970’s in Western Canada, I am ashamed of what it has morphed into and that I had anything to do with the creation of that group that is now the definition of the Global Green Blob.

But I must confess that things looked different to me then. When I saw overhead power lines with dozens of wires all connecting to various poles, transformers and houses/business, it all looked like mass confusion and chaos to me. But now it looks like art and I am amazed that we have created such a complex and technological society that actually works. (Unless I am in SE Asia and then it is all chaos, but somehow it works most of the time)

And now to think there are many mostly younger people and groups wanting to tear down this highly advanced form of technological advancement and use the phoney climate change meme as a wedge to limit the useage of affordable energy or implement failed socialistic/Marxist wealth redistribution schemes on those of us and our ancestors who created this miracle. I would say we are now near the cross roads of an ideological war that is liable to break out as soon as the abuse of this political process goes to far. Just witness what is emerging in Europe with a return to right wing populist politics, because that is what happens when you get failed policies from the Left that fundamentally alter a country so quickly for the worse, that the only solution is a hard turn to Starboard. Pelosi, Macron and Trudeau should take note, amongst many others.

“Me thinks they doth protest too much, and they don’t even know what they are actually protesting about anymore.”

That’s true. Protest is simply performance art. A clear demonstration of this is the group’s mindless popularization of the hijab, which is arguably the quintessential emblem of misogyny. Women worldwide are punished and even killed for refusing to wear it, and these stupid women celebrate it as a symbol of women’s rights.

As you say, “this highly advanced form of technological advancement…” also provides individuals and society at large with freedom. And that is a four letter word to Marxists, ictators and political leaders.

The whole human rights thing has formally been removed from the Paris rulebook so you can protest all you like there is no framework for it.

The issue goes back to the socialist left who wanted the idea that just because you were alive and breathing you had some right to a percentage of the worlds resources. The province of Ontario in Canada and Finland flirted with this stupidity and the concept of a living wage … it all failed spectacularly because guess what if you pay people to do nothing they will do nothing
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/making-sense/ontario-is-canceling-its-basic-income-experiment
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_income_around_the_world

The reality is socialism is morally corrupt even if taken to it’s purest form it encapsulates the concept of force. The person giving up resources does not receive anything they are forced to give it up. The system always breaks down because there is no incentive to be better as you don’t get any advantage just being alive gives you the same rights as anyone, so why not stay home and play computer games all day.

Capitalism have micro transactions that benefit both parties, if it didn’t benefit both parties the transaction would not happen. The only real weakness in the system is what resources you start with matters you have to have something to transact. No one has come up with a way to easily deal with that problem but what is clear is socialism is not a viable alternative it has failed in every country. Even poster child countries for socialism like the Nordic countries only survive by quirks that they have low populations living on huge natural resources or are held up by US defense money. If resources were evenly distributed to each person of the world the Nordic countries would fail immediately just based on their debt to the people of China.

While I realise that “Climate Justice ” is just a word meaning Socialism come Communism, I always thought that Climate was a 30 year thing and weather was the now thing.

So will these somewhat misguided persons be prepared top wait 30 years for their version of Paradise ? Perhaps its my near 92 years of age, but I look back to when we left school at 14, having by then learned all the essentials which seem to be lacking today. We got home after work tired and on our small salaries , not able to “Live it up”. By the time we got to voting age, back then it was 21, we had learned that if you want something you both worked for it, and saved until you could afford it, like my at 12 being on a paper round every morning before school and a grocery round via a three wheeler bike on Saturday. When I could finally afford the second hand telescope I wanted I valued it far more than all the things bought since then. .

Every single qualifier that a leftist puts on the term “justice” (social justice, racial justice, environmental justice . . . take your pick) is used as an Orwellian argument that subjugates fairness towards a real individual person to some hypothesized higher social imperative that the leftists thinks is more important than real justice. In other words, it’s just an oxymoronic phrase used to rationalize a wrong to an individual.

That’s what the phrase “climate justice” has in common with womens’ rights (the purported rights of a predefined collective).

On my first visit to Parliament in London for last week’s historic events I was struck by a fundamentally different approach between Left and Right. Labour MPs were in the main very emotional about their constituents and wanted ‘more’ public money to address their plight. Conservative MPs often used factual arguments and quantified data in support of the government’s successful programs and allotted roughly equal attention to the grand themes of education, defence, economy, transport, foreign affairs, security.

‘Climate justice’ is a mythical notion and is bandied about by irrational people for whom feelings come before facts; in short, by Lefties.

How ironic that Lefties only use their right-brains!

Climate justice is just a SJW euphemism for deconstructing the industrialized West. Sarah Myrhe is into this and thinks it can only happen when only women are in charge. She broached this subject with Richard Dawkins when she found herself seated next to him at a dinner during a week long conference in Chile, and then he proceeded to ignore her for the rest of the evening.

So. I may have been seated next to Richard Dawkins at dinner. And I may have used the words feminist leadership. And he may have turned away from me and ignored me for the rest of the evening.

https://twitter.com/SarahEMyhre/status/1084622835455324160

She then she became Dating Cop and indignantly asked what right he had to date someone young enough to be his granddaughter. What business is it of hers who he dates? Notice the “burn it down” comment. That’s all these people have to offer.

One more thing, while I am at it. Why is Richard Dawkins dating a woman who looks like his granddaughter? The man is in his late seventies. For real. I am done here. It’s an absolute joke. Burn it down to the ground.

Here’s another example that their main goal is the deconstruction of modern civilization by eliminating fossil fuels. She said this after a fossil fueled jet whisked her away to Chile for a week of leisure.

Same thing as: “Stop obsessing about leaning in and start deconstructing these institutions that were never meant for you.”

The hypocrisy of those who practice identity politics is to appoint themselves as moral authorities, and then accuse those who disagree with them of deputizing themselves as moral authorities. Clue to the clueless: moral authority belongs to those who do to others as they would have others do to themselves. All other moralizing is hypocrisy.

“What is the difference between deputizing yourself as a moral authority and struggling for a more just and caring world? Asking for a friend.”

The Beatles had something to say about this a half century ago. I can only say that SJWs in general are a confused, emotionally unstable bunch. By marching, and carrying nonsense signs and mouthing nonsense slogans, they get to feel “empowered”, and like they are part of something. The bandwagon effect.

Revolution
The Beatles

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We’re doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you’ll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right

Referring to the supposed point of the march, I’d like to know specifically what civil right that woman lacks that she hopes her daughter will attain? The “right” to free health care? … to a guaranteed “living wage”, free college or free housing?

Of course none of those things are civil rights and thus guaranteed to a citizen. At best, some may argue that those things are compassionate and maybe morally appropriate entitlements but they sure ain’t something you are guaranteed just ’cause you were born on this planet!

Reflecting on the signs:
1. Support Women… Isn’t that what corsets are for?
2. Climate Justice…. Probably a cocktail viz: Cognac, lime and tomato over just ice?
3. Chico 350… This I suspect is the gross weight of the bearer or perhaps her paramour.
4. Stop 45… Clearly a gun lobby mole promoting kevlar flack jackets.
I welcome well considered opinions especially from Griff or Ivan.
Cheers

What is Climate Justice?

Quote:
“…Climate justice includes a focus on the root causes of climate change and making the systemic changes that are therefore required, a commitment to address the disproportionate burden of the climate crisis on the poor and marginalized, a demand for participatory democracy in changing these systems which require dismantling the fossil fuel corporate power structure, and a commitment to reparations and thus a fair distribution of the world’s wealth….”

http://www.peacefuluprising.org/defining-climate-justice-20130521.

Translation: Climate justice is the use of climate alarmism to invoke a revolution that overthrows the capitalist system and replaces it with a Marxist-Socialist one. The new society will be green Utopian in nature and will be free of those nasty fossil fuels and will be powered by the sun and the wind and bio-fuels. Everyone (except those of us in charge) will be equal (equally poor) after the capitalist system is terminated and everyone has been blessed with the new glorious ecological Marxist socialist state. The Marxist-socialist state will control all wealth distribution in accordance with climate-friendly and eco-friendly criteria. Everyone will be free to participate in this new state unless of course you question the climate alarmist narrative or the new Marxist-Socialist state itself. In the latter case, you may have to be subject to disciplinary action.

That Anthony is just one definition of Climate Justice that I found. There are probably others. Marxism by any other name is still Marxism. BTW, what does the yellow “Stop 45” sign mean?

I do not trust my ability to judge the value of what these women are doing.
I did not understand the women’s movement when they were burning their bras and otherwise yelling about their rights. On the other hand, I seem to have benefited from all those crazies.
In the 70s, at a particular aircraft company, I was not hired as an engineer, probably partially because I am female. By 1980 the company had been “encouraged” to hire women as something other than secretary, and I was one of the first.
Later, I spent 25 years working as an engineer in the auto industry.
During the GM bankruptcy layoffs, as women were retiring, I heard many stories about their experiences before GM changed its policies toward women.
So, I don’t know how my granddaughters may benefit. Maybe I don’t see something good that is coming.
