Watch the Senate climate pajama party all-nighter live

NA_COALPLANTIn case you haven’t heard about it, the Senate is having a “denier bashing fest” while they bask in the warmth provided by steam from the coal-fired Capitol Power Plant.

If Jim Hansen and Senator Tim Wirth can turn up the heat (like he did in a Senate hearing in 1988 by turning off the A/C in summer), you’d think these clowns would have the good sense to turn off the fossil fueled heat while they tell everyone how wrong it is to use fossil fuels.

Senate Democrats’ donor-friendly global warming show

On Monday night into Tuesday morning, two dozen Senate Democrats — members of the party’s newly-formed Climate Action Task Force — plan to hold an all-night, filibuster-like talkathon on the issue of global warming. “Congress must act,” Hawaii Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz, a leader of the group, said in a statement. “On Monday night we’re going to show the growing number of senators who are committed to working together to confront climate change.”

Senator(giggle) Franken has just committed himself to a prediction which is falsifiable. If the severe winter this year experienced does NOT repeat itself it means his statement is wrong, hence his hypothesis is also wrong. The main alternative is that there is some other mechanism that overwhelms the supposed forcing effect of carbon dioxide. If it is so overwhelmed, how can it be a primary forcing agent?
I have come up with some other alternatives, but Occam’s razor has only two edges, if that.
Hey senators. Explain the Carboniferous!

Oh Dear !
I do hope that the participants use condoms and wash their hands with soap and water and gargle twice with Listerine after every XXXX and use the toilet for heavens sake instead of the corner of the room.

Wow, that Senator from Oregon just let out a deeply guarded secret: The laws of chemistry are changing and forest fires are now burning hotter than ever before.
And all because of CO2!

I refuse to watch one second of this charade. The current senate leadership doesn’t have enough mental horsepower to light a (now-banned) 100 watt light bulb.

Al Franken just said that all the Cold this winter was caused by Global Warming. And we should expect more cold winters. Then says there are propane shortages.

Here’s a subtle but pointed billboard-campaign idea. It should be run after a lengthy or substantial period of global cooling that alarmists and the media have spun as being consistent with—if not actually proof of—global warming:

Schatz happens to be my Senator. He is one of the dumbest people you have ever heard. He speaks in liberal cliche talk. He is a scientific moron. This guy could lose at Tic Tac Toe to Obama.

2 points:
1. They doing this to extract/capture campaign donations, first and foremost. We already know the giga-idiot Steyer is putting up $100 Million to pols who sign on to CAGW (“A fool and his money…,” as the saying goes).
2. You know the global warming paradigm is in deep scientific trouble when the vested-interest political cognoscenti go to great lengths to defend it by making ad hominem attacks on science-based rebuttals. Similar to 1633 when Galileo was imprisoned for his advocacy of heliocentrism. Prior to that in 1616 the Inquisition declared heliocentrism to be formally heretical.

Time was the village idiot would get too annoying, we would convince them to run for senator and get rid of them that way.
Damn shame everybody else had the same idea.
Term limits will not be enough.

Here’s HL Mencken, in “On Being an American”:

The United States Senate will cost me perhaps $11 for the year, but against that expense set the subscription price of the Congressional Record, about $15, which, as a journalist, I receive for nothing. For $4 less than nothing I am thus entertained as Solomon never was by his hooch dancers.

Someone should turn off the heat and power. Unfortunately Capitol Hill security back in 1988 was pre-911. Try that stunt today and I bet those 2 clowns would know what 50000 volts from a tazer and zip ties feel like. Hey, maybe they can try and recreate that stunt now but tell security “THIS IS NO DRILL!!” Much hilarity ensues.

“Al Franken just said that all the Cold this winter was caused by Global Warming. And we should expect more cold winters. Then says there are propane shortages. That’s all I could take. Morons should not get re-elected. I hope these ignorant Dems push this as their agenda in the fall”
Yes, and based on best projections, as these cold winters “increasify” in tandem with increased warming, leading to less propane and longer lines and more mothers with small children waiting in line for said scarce fuel, we shall very most likely see in short order with a certainty approaching 90% , a sharp increase in alcohol consumption and thereby scarcity, though more work is certainly needed to reduce the uncertainty as to the particular types being consumed at that time.
Be safe, stock up now.

I tuned in late. Someone mentioned Non-Hurricane Sandy? I live on Long Island in NY, I was here for Sandy. Yes, it was a large storm, but it hit at high tide during a full moon! Was the timing also due to climate change? When Sandy was downgraded along the way I swear the tv news people looked disappointed.

Watching 5 minutes of that was enough. Schatz from Hawaii was ranting on. He uses comparisons to the opposition of removing lead from gasoline and some similar examples as correlation to what is happening now with the sceptical side against cagw. It shows how little they know about the supposed science facts they bring up. He can not see that the only argument with this issue is whether the concept is right or wrong. To point to examples where a contrarian view against a scientific consensus was proven wrong does not mean that the next science related debate will share the same result.
