Are you kidding!? They *have* their hands on real power: the Lying Leftwing Media. That’s why the Western world is in the sorry shape it is in now.
Btw, Trump’s “racist terms and dog whistles” are figments of the imagination of the Left. Saying the Wuhan virus came from China is not racist, unless you are Trump.
It wouldn’t matter what Trump said on any subject, the Lying Leftwing Media is going to say his remarks are racist. It’s automatic with them. It is their chief form of attack against Repulicans, conservatives and especially Trump. And it’s all a bunch of lies, just like everything else the Left spews.
Twenty + years ago Ralph Baric, published a paper on how to gene splice coronavirus without leaving telltale markers at the slice sites.
More recently, he and the Wuhan bat lady published a paper on gene splicing a newly discovered coronavirus into SARS.
This sort of research has become common place in virus labs. Splicing genes into coronavirus to allow them to jump species or become more infectious. The reason is to develop defenses against future infections.
Specifically, to produce virus strain that give protection similar to the way that cowpox protected against smallpox. This would allow you to release a virus into the general population that was relatively harmless, that protected against a closely related, but much more deadly virus.
Given the very low death rate among the Chinese population from Covid-19 as compared to the rest of the world it would appear they succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.

A study came out that shows that people that got the virus have immunity for life.

Given that the chances of dying from it are really small, better get the virus while people are healthy. That virus will be around forever now. Better get your immune system updated now than getting the virus once old.
