Before you dismiss this idea as too ridiculous to imagine, consider that a year ago many of us would have said the same thing about Joe Biden. Meghan Markle could be the perfect liberal candidate; claims to care about climate change, flies in a private jet, popular with liberals, breathtakingly entitled, a major thorn in the side of the British Royal Family, except for the tame royal who married her, and Oprah and the Hollywood set absolutely love her.

Meghan Markle will use the furore over her interview with Oprah to launch a political career which could take her all the way to the White House, if rumours circulating around Westminster last week turn out to be accurate.
One senior Labour figure – a veteran of Tony Blair‘s Downing Street administration with strong links to Washington – claimed to The Mail on Sunday that Ms Markle, 39, was networking among senior Democrats with a view to building a campaign and fundraising teams for a tilt at the US Presidency.
Last night, a source close to the Duchess of Sussex declined to comment, but the couple have made little secret of their political beliefs.
During the US election last year they levelled a thinly veiled attack on Donald Trump by urging voters to ‘reject hate speech’, which a spokesperson for the couple described as ‘a call for decency’. Trump himself declared that he was ‘not a fan’ of Meghan, 39.

Fox News suggests Meghan is already networking with senior Democrats to secure funding for a bid for Presidency.
Meghan seems to have no problem keeping establishment greens onside, despite flaunting her wealth and privilege. When Meghan Markle faced criticism after flying to France on holiday by private jet, British pop legend Elton John rushed to defend her environmental credentials.
Consider a possible 2024 scenario. Joe Biden has retired or has stated he will not contest a second term due to ill health, leaving the uncharismatic Kamala Harris in the hot seat. Candidate Donald Trump is surging in the polls. Democrats are desperate to cling to power – they need someone with media profile, someone who can speak to their supporters, and maybe even sway a few swing voters.
Meghan Markle, with her sky high media profile, her impeccable green hypocrisy and her claim to being a victim of British royal racism could well be the logical choice for the 2024 Democrat Presidential candidate.

Never heard of that supposed actress before she got in the news by dating Harry. I suspect this is nothing but a publicity stunt. But if she does give it a go the democrat establishment types she comes up against will eat her lunch.
If the establishment types decide that she is the Democrats best chance to hold onto the presidency, her path will be cleaned and greased. How the heck do you think Joe Biden managed to become president? Between fixing the primaries, and working with the media to bury any stories that might be embarrassing, they did whatever they needed to do.

Looks to me like ALL of you missed something: Markle is a Greenie, a greenbeaner, an ecohippie, and all those other things I’ve used to refer to that bunch of twits. I have no doubt that she’d have a serious plan in store to put the USofA on the same disastrous track that other countries (guess which ones) have followed in their fatal efforts to be “carbon-free”. She and Harry would/will be in complete comfort, up there above it all while the rest of the population is down here, trying to get out of the frozen mud.

And include Kamala Harris. Kamala has no qualifications to be president, yet there she is, first in line. So I suppose another person with no qualifications, like Meghan Markle, should not see no qualifications as an obstacle to running and possibly winning.
It could be Kanye and Meghan running together as president and vice president next time. Or the Rock! Or any number of other unqualified people who have voiced aspirations in the past.
Biden seems to have a penchant for choosing unqualified people. Maybe it’s just that the Democrats don’t have very many people who are qualified, so they have to make do with what they have. As long as they are the right color and ethnicity, that’s all that Biden really cares about. It’s all for the optics. Qualifications? What’s that? Who needs that?
Obama had more qualifications than Merkle does, but only barely.
Back to monarchy. Even Biden can’t get that establishment.

Um, who though the idea of Joe Biden running for president was too ridiculous to imagine? He’d already done it a couple of times before, so it was actually really easy to imagine. Him winning the nomination, on the other hand (let alone actually making it to the White House), yeah sure many considered that pretty ridiculous all things considered. But his running? nope, sorry but no one considered that “too ridiculous to imagine”
