Climate Messiah Greta Thunberg: “They try so desperately to silence us”

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Greta Thunberg while being mobbed by reporters in Madrid complained that “they” were desperate to silence her – but the COP25 climate conference she hopes to influence is already on the verge of failure.

Greta Thunberg: ‘They try so desperately to silence us’

Matt McGrath Environment correspondent @mattmcgrathbbc

The 16-year-old was mobbed by press and spectators when she visited the conference centre earlier on Friday.

She had to be escorted away for her own safety amid shouts of “leave her alone” from concerned observers.

“People want everything to continue like now and they are afraid of change,” she told reporters.

“And change is what we young people are bringing and that is why they want to silence us and that is just a proof that we are having an impact that our voices are being heard that they try so desperately to silence us.”

This COP started with great hope last Monday, with strong words from the UN secretary-general and others, warning that time is running out and that negotiators should be guided by the science.

Since then, the urgency has given way to frustration.

Little obvious progress is being made on the central question of raising countries’ ambitions to cut carbon.

Indeed, UN climate chief Patricia Espinosa said the issue of increased pledges wasn’t even on the agenda for the final outcome of this conference.

We don’t have in the agenda one item that’s called ‘ambition’ and, therefore, it’s not like we are expecting to have a specific decision on that.”

Who are “they” who are trying to silence you Greta? Not climate skeptics – because we want as many people as possible to hear your message.

Greta makes the people I despise squirm by exposing their hypocrisy, while she practices that very same hypocrisy herself. And the funniest part, the people she targets have to sit there and take it, otherwise they’ll be accused of not caring.

” … She travelled by catamaran instead of plane, but pointed out living sustainably must become much easier. “We can’t require, from everyone, to rely on people like this to sail you across the ocean, that is absurd,” she said. … ” https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-12-04/greta-arrives-in-portugal/11763386
——————

At least Greta’s finally ‘learned’ that sailing across the Atlantic ocean as transport is absurd and impractical. But if she was less committed to conceit and arrogance, and was able to take instruction in advance from people who know these things (i.e. get an education), she could have listened to people who already knew that and not made that mistake. They could have instructed you Greta as to why crossing the Atlantic was a really dumb, immature, wasteful, expensive and dangerous thing to do in a plastic, carbon and steel boat. Plus it was still deeply hypocritical and delusional, and needlessly risked the lives of others, to satisfy your mad delusion.

If you’re reading this Greta, and I hope you do, you’ve now proven beyond questions that you are a fool.

This is no insult either as you did a brave but also incredibly foolish thing, it’s an observation. You’re a fool for not listening to those who could have told you the facts in advance before you foolishly repeated known obvious errors. If you run your mouth less and rushed to judgement and action less quickly you might have avoided this and further mistakes to come, instead of pretending you know enough to speak authoritatively, because you’ve demonstrated here that you have no clue about very important practical things.

And due to your amazing stupidity and stubbornness you actually did it twice! Once wasn’t enough? You couldn’t admit it was an error and recant and express humility? Are you now unable to do that? Are you captured and entrained by your own foolish words and inability to admit your own hypocrisy?

See the problem you face when you do that? You own mind is going to be very hard on you in coming years Greta, I don’t envy where you’re headed, but I do hope you get there safely. It’s not a case of people wanting to silence you, it’s just that you’re clearly a blind-guide who pretends to see the way for others. And as the rest of that parable goes, “… and they both ended up in the ditch”.

Try not to drag other people into your dangerous blind follies Greta, they don’t deserve that.

“COP25 on the verge of failure”

Not just on the verge

The whole concept conceived by numnut UN bureaucrats is a grand and complete failure. This is why there are now 25 COPS and no results. The idea that the UN is the global environmental protection agency is structurally flawed and that is why it needs the Gretas and the extinction rebellions of the world.

“Ambition” is an admirable thing but without the legal framework of the EPA of the USA, the UN’s aspiration to a global EPA role is pure ambition and no substance.

Seriously? That deserves its own thread so we can put a factual scientific flame-thrower over it.

See the following link:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/worlds-oceans-are-losing-oxygen-at-a-dangerous-rate-study-says/ar-BBXUJHd

Interestingly, the article states, “Larger marine animals are swimming closer to the surface, where oxygen is more available, but this leaves them prone to overfishing.” That is countered with the claim, “According to the study, about 50% of oxygen loss in the upper part of the ocean is a result of temperature increase.” Why would larger fish swim to the shallower waters that are losing oxygen from warming? More high-quality science!

She doesn’t want (climate) change but she’s bringing change. Poor girl seems confused.

Actually people want everything to continue like now but expect the Gummint or UN or whatever to take care of changing the climate back to wherever it’s supposed to be without any new taxes or charges but some free LED light bulbs or subsidised solar panels is fine. If you can manage it Greta then that’s fine with them too but tone down the bragging and just get on with it.

Hmmmmm, I’d suspect that after all the wind propelled travel difficulties, much publicised, young Greta probably expected to enter the COP being greeted with the modern day equivalent of Palms ?

Using the BBC news webpage as a source, it seems such an event did not happen 🙁 In fact one might even conclude that Greta is experiencing what its like to be a phart in a spacesuit ?

Greta’s real power is to be able to turn people off regarding the CC scam, and that aint going to fit the pistol of those making out like bandits on the back of climate doom.

Next up, Expect the Doom Militants to start attacking the mainstream CC mongers.

Greta is definitely being silenced by her handlers.
When she is asked questions by Rebel News, her handlers call the police so that she cannot make statements off the “script”.

I told Anthony to take tissues because the green and left would need it because the outcome was entirely predictable. The funny part is watching who the green and left groups trying to work out who to blame because they have to blame someone rather than face the reality there whole idea is stupid and was never going to work. Old white privileged males will be the obvious blame target again.

Who is trying to silence them?

Ever since Margaret Thatcher pushed the AGW story into international politics we have had the Establishment, the mainstream media, and politicians of every flavour shovelling the story on to us. Big Money and big reputations are tied up in it. The filthy stinking rich elite and the pseudo-left artsie-fartsies are happy to agree that AGW is major issue and should be talked about endlessly.

It is the dissenters who get silenced.

When was the last time you saw a climate sceptic on CNN, BBC, Sky, Channel 4?

How many alarmists have been fired for pushing the CO2 is going to kill us line.
On the other there are many skeptics who have lost jobs for opposing the Green Machine.

How many journals refuse to publish any paper that supports climate alarmism?
On the other hand, alarmists have bragged about getting an editor fired because he allowed a skeptic paper to be published.

How many sites refuse to post any comments that support the alarmists?
On the other hand the number of sites that ban skeptics is legion.

As always steve, you see what your paycheck demands you to see.

Well let’s see. The BBC doesn’t allow dissenting opinion on Climate Change. The Conversation and MANY other academic sites do not allow skeptic comments, no matter how respectful they are.

Are any skeptics being mobbed by reporters wherever they go?

Unlike the fantasies of Greta, there are skeptics that can provide evidence of “being silenced.” I have frequently had The Conversation delete remarks because I pointed out errors in claims by their esteemed authors.

It is in poor taste and not something I would say. However, he at least uses his full name and will be associated with the remark. That is unlike some of the trolls who engage in personal attacks and hide behind a pseudonym.

With the support of her adult handlers she has the world stage to condemn the very people who make the modern world possible for an easier and longer life. She has been told to ignore good weather and to look at it as prelude to total disaster.

Will the climate change? It always has. There are four seasons, are we to believe one of the four will become dominate and destroy when there is only one season.

I saw an advertisement of tv just now for Time Magazine and they were promoting their upcoming issue where they name the Time Magazine Person of the Year, and among others, they flashed a picture of Greta Thunberg. I wonder. 🙂

Silly people! THEY are actually afraid that without fossil fuels THEY will go back to the technological level of the early 1700s. What a preposterous fear! THEY have nothing to fear but fear itself! THEY should embrace change, welcome it! THEY must give up those cars and airplanes! THEY must give up their cell phones, computers! Horses are wonderful animals to ride. Since when do THEY need advanced medical technology? After all, our ancestors did quite well with herbs and witch-doctors as enough of them lived to a ripe old age of 40. Hey, if it was good enough for them it should be good enough for YOU. Anyway, THEY should give no thought to going without electricity, natural gas or diesel heating oil to keep warm with in the winter as THEY’ll all have fireplaces to burn wood. It’ll take 2 years to denude all the world’s forests to use the wood to heat their homes, but that should be good enough because we’re already in the midst of an extinction so we’re dying out anyway. We won’t need those forests after that. Be tough, chuck those air conditioners and just endure sweltering summer heat that the CAGW Alarmists say is coming! Embrace change! We’ve already started by going back to windmills to generate energy, so why not go all the way? But that’s what we mean by being “Progressive”! If we don’t keep all those dangerous fossil fuels in the ground the result will be mass death! Oh, the humanity!!!!!!!! /sarc
