It's official: Al Gore is a prophet

Tim Blair of the Telegraph catches this little slip, which is rather telling. He writes:

Jeff Young interviews Maggie Fox, President and CEO of Al Gore’s latest scam, the Climate Reality Project:

FOX: I think the notion of Vice President Gore as a divisive figure is a bit of a hoax, just like the people who are denying climate change. It’s a pre-frame, it’s a fabrication that suits those who want to keep the status quo. So if you have a prophet, if you have someone who has woken up to a particular challenge in the world and that person speaks, if that disrupts things, who is going to be and what are the voices going to be that say that person doesn’t have credibility? Those voices that don’t want that change … There are so many more voices clamoring to hear what he has to say that his right to speak and need to speak is more than made clear virtually every day.

YOUNG: Did you just refer to him as a prophet?

FOX: I think he is a prophet on climate change. I think he woke up to this issue in his earliest years, expected as other people learned about it that they would also wake up to its significance … His presumption as a young man was that once you heard the information the world would shift and start getting its act together, and that hasn’t happened.

Here’s an “inconvenient truth”:

Traffic rank: lower is better. Alexa doesn't track ranks below 100,000

Source: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/climaterealityproject.org+wattsupwiththat.com#

NOTE: Since some commenters misunderstand the above graph, here’s an explanation. It is traffic rank, not hits. WUWT is in the top most visited websites of the world, AlGore’s CRP is not.

“97 percent of scientists say man-made climate change is real ……… woops”
Try to get some facts straight. A master’s thesis by a student at the University of Illinois, Chicago did a poll that tortured the data until it came up with a value of 97%. This did NOT represent the the views of 97% of scientists or even 97% of those polled.
It disgusts me that UIC is giving away MS degrees for doing a poll.

Is the alexa rank determined by averaging? The graph shows three spikes in ranking for July, the biggest being in the week of July 11th, which could have been generated by the article posted on WUWT on Tuesday July 12th., and, strangely, two smaller spikes on the following Tuesdays. Without those spikes, Climaterealityproject would not break the 100,000 threshold.

He is a prophet. The prophet of the coming of the 1/2 man, 1/2 bear, 1/2 pig….manbearpig. I’m super cereal.

I have a profoundly benevolent view of the universe. And since man is a natural part of the universe, I have a profoundly benevolent view of mankind as a whole. However, the human condition does have some temporary, periodic and localized malevolency.
I leave it to the philosophical enthusiast to comment on the uncertainty involved in the possibility of detecting any benevolence in the ideology of Mr. Gore.
Good news for Al baby, I think any seriously malevolent group would heartily welcome Al baby. After all even upper class malevolent people need entertainment from someone like Al, who they would surely consider a malevolent jester and buffoon.
Prophet? Yes, definitely. He is a prophet for the nihilists and fawning/clueless journalists.

Al Gore, the prophet, is standing on a cyber street corner shouting, “Repent! Repent! The end is near! The fires of Hell are upon us! Get your carbon-credit indulgences now while they’re half off.”

1. I don’t think the word “official” means what you think it means.
of·fi·cial
adjective /əˈfiSHəl/
4.Emanating from or attributable to a person in office; properly authorized
In this case, from Maggie Fox, President and CEO of the Climate Reality Project.
So, yes, it in fact does mean what he thinks it does.

The only thing more incredible than having Al Gore described as a ‘prophet” is the face-palmingly unbelievable idea that the High Priestess Maggie Fox herself would say so in so many words, publicly and unashamedly.
Unless she is a “completed” idiot, she HAS to know that this degree of sycophantic adoration of the Gore can not do her credibility any good.

I think there’s an ‘a’ missing from the acronym CRP. Perhaps it was originally called Climate Reality Awareness Project?

“super cereal” . . . LOL!
This is better than the good early days of Saturday Night Live.
Ahhh, you all are tearing me up with laughter.

Used to be rough to be a prophet; You know, stones for pillows, hair shirts, eating honey and locusts, getting around on a donkey. Al’s been looking mighty properous these days, living large even. But in the spirit of generosity I propose that we all limit our carbon footprint to no more than prophet Gore. Can I hear an amen?

Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are savage wolves.
Matthew 7: 15
Friends:
I gave a parody of a ‘H*ll Fire’ sermon as the introduction to one of my presentations at the first Heartland Climate Conference. It was delivered with full fervour and I know was enjoyed by several so I copy its text below.
I hope at least some of you are amused by it.

****************
We all know that the books of the IPCC are the Bible of man-made global climate change. And – according to the books of scientific revelation in that Bible – the atmosphere was in a state of Eden before human industrial civilization. Then humans began to consume the forbidden fruit of fossil fuels, so the atmosphere became contaminated with an excess of carbon dioxide. Humans continue to practice the sin of industrial civilization and, therefore, the contamination of the atmosphere continues to increase. As a result, our civilization is doomed by our sin as surely as Soddom and Gommorah.
The world will warm with the result that the Four Horsemen of the Apacalypse are set to roam the world spreading pestilence, war, famine, and death. We can stop them from destroying the world as we know it by turning from our sin of industrial civilization. But the sins of the fathers are weighed upon their children even unto the seventh generation because our sin has already added carbon dioxide to the atmosphere and it will continue to wreak its havoc for centuries to come. We must repent and turn from our consumption of the forbidden fruit to avoid its worst effects on our children and our children’s children.
That is the prevailing faith which is being spread by many proselytes and has been adopted as the State Religion in many places, notably the European Union.
But I am here to proclaim the message in the song. “The things that you’re liable to read in the Bible; it ain’t necessarily so.”

Al Gore is only a prophet of Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. There is zero danger or need to spend a single dollar based on the feeble predictions Gore puts forth when compared with empirical evidence. No one is listening because everyone can see there is no emergency. None at all.

And preferably one that makes sense, too.

Now you stand with your thief, you’re on his parole
With your holy medallion which your fingertips fold
And your saintlike face and your ghostlike soul
Oh, who among them do you think could destroy you?
Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands
Where the sad-eyed prophet says that no man comes
My warehouse eyes, my Arabian drums
Should I leave them by your gate
Or, sad-eyed lady, should I wait?

Moderators,
This a unique day in my wonderful life. After 1000s of comments on WUWT and pushing 3 years commenting on WUWT, I had my very first snip here. Does anyone want to go out for a beer or martinis?
I don’t feel sad. . . . . but snipping me for a comment with no foul language nor violence which we all read about in the MSM regarding Mr. Gore . . . . surely reconsider. I think WUWT even had a post on it.
What if I get a quote from the MSM supporting my comment or a very similar quote from a previous WUWT comment on an Al Gore thread that wasn’t snipped . . . will you then reconsider and reinstate my comment?
Thank you.
John

Latitude says: “97 percent of scientists say man-made climate change is real”
You’ve come to the wrong place to quote fake statistics.
Your 97% is actually only 75 scientists.
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/01/04/lawrence-solomon-on-consensus-statistics/
“The two researchers obtained their results by conducting a survey of 10,257 Earth scientists. The survey results must have deeply disappointed the researchers — in the end, they chose to highlight the views of a subgroup of just 77 scientists, 75 of whom thought humans contributed to climate change. The ratio 75/77 produces the 97% figure that pundits now tout.”
