It's official: Al Gore is a prophet

Tim Blair of the Telegraph catches this little slip, which is rather telling. He writes:

Jeff Young interviews Maggie Fox, President and CEO of Al Gore’s latest scam, the Climate Reality Project:

FOX: I think the notion of Vice President Gore as a divisive figure is a bit of a hoax, just like the people who are denying climate change. It’s a pre-frame, it’s a fabrication that suits those who want to keep the status quo. So if you have a prophet, if you have someone who has woken up to a particular challenge in the world and that person speaks, if that disrupts things, who is going to be and what are the voices going to be that say that person doesn’t have credibility? Those voices that don’t want that change … There are so many more voices clamoring to hear what he has to say that his right to speak and need to speak is more than made clear virtually every day.

YOUNG: Did you just refer to him as a prophet?

FOX: I think he is a prophet on climate change. I think he woke up to this issue in his earliest years, expected as other people learned about it that they would also wake up to its significance … His presumption as a young man was that once you heard the information the world would shift and start getting its act together, and that hasn’t happened.

Here’s an “inconvenient truth”:

Traffic rank: lower is better. Alexa doesn't track ranks below 100,000

NOTE: Since some commenters misunderstand the above graph, here’s an explanation. It is traffic rank, not hits. WUWT is in the top most visited websites of the world, AlGore’s CRP is not.

To know him is to not trust him. All Gore would have won the 2000 presidential election (even without winning Florida) if he could have carried his home state of Tennessee. The state he served as a Senator knew him too well. That pretty much says it all. He’s a snake oil salesman and as they say, “Once bitten, twice shy”.

I looked him up on the definitive website but couldn’t find any mention of the bloke-

Maybe that Einstein bloke left a tribute for him and the Team –

Best of luck. Al Gore is a fraud. Simple as that. Carbon emissions nor CO2 relate to climate change. However investing in carbon trading did for a time bring in dollars for some. Green or clean energy is under some doubt. WA has suspended their project to provide geo thermal
because it doesn’t work. Well he may have invested in this, and if he has he is barking up the wrong money tree. The fissures close up under gravity. As found in Cornwall and other places
in the world.
Nite folks, still keep fighting for the truth and as we say ‘It only takes a few good men (or women) to do nothing, to let evil prevail’ or something like that?
Good nite from Australia.

I can somewhat understand people’s dislike of Gore even though I think it’s ashame that people want to shoot the messenger. But James Hansen? Does this really seem like a money hungry person:
Hansen? Surely you jest. He’s also a Warmist prophet, just a different sect of the same Warmist Religion. His pretense of being a real scientist still manages to convince the more gullible crowd which, happily is thinning. Warmism is his career, though, not science.

As far as Gore’s CRP, I don’t know which is funnier – the idea that Gore knows anything about climate, or the idea that he knows the difference between reality and fantasy.

I don’t know if this has been posted up yet, but AspenJournalism.Orghad just released a article titled:
“Al Gore calls “bullshit” on climate propaganda”
By Brent Gardner-Smith, Aspen Journalism
I only brought this link up because they have a audio recording of Al ranting.
Thought you guys might want to hear it if you hadn’t already.

Ahhh … the naivety of the young and stupid*; Hansen is a grand deceiver (is the traditional devil a ‘money hungry’ person?)
The following is from: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2011/06/25/bring-it-mr-wirth-a-challenge/

… back to June 1988. Dr. James Hansen is getting ready to testify before the Senate on what he thinks is a serious problem, global warming. …
If we left it there, there would really be nothing to say beyond the fact that he’s the guy [Wirth] who put Hansen in front of the Senate and launched the [AGW] cause. But Senator Wirth was culpable in foisting stagecraft onto the Senate to make them “feel” the problem in the form of a well crafted lie [during Hansen’s testimony].
If any of you have ever been in Washington DC during the summertime, you’ll be able to relate to this. Senator Timothy Wirth made sure that room was “steamy”. This transcript excerpt is from PBS series Frontline which aired a special in April 2007. Here he admits his stagecraft in his own words:
TIMOTHY WIRTH: We called the Weather Bureau and found out what historically was the hottest day of the summer. Well, it was June 6th or June 9th or whatever it was. So we scheduled the hearing that day, and bingo, it was the hottest day on record in Washington, or close to it.
DEBORAH AMOS: [on camera] Did you also alter the temperature in the hearing room that day?
TIMOTHY WIRTH: What we did is that we went in the night before and opened all the windows, I will admit, right, so that the air conditioning wasn’t working inside the room. And so when the- when the hearing occurred, there was not only bliss, which is television cameras and double figures, but it was really hot.[Shot of witnesses at hearing]
So it goes without saying, that if the case Dr. Hansen was to make before the Senate was so strong, why did Senator Wirth need to make use of cheap stage tricks?
And, why would anybody trust this man’s opinion on climate today, knowing this?

His hindsight, however, is better than his foresight:
“It is not a good policy to have these massive subsidies for first-generation ethanol. One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president.”
