Gore: "Entire north polar ice cap will be gone in 5 years"

This is from his address in Germany, recorded from German TV:

Write this date down so you can contact Mr. Gore in 5 years, then place your bets. I’m sure Lewis Pugh is making plans already.

Meanwhile at the Poznan climate talks, consensus remains in the eye of the beholder:

With all of the ice that suddenly disappeared yesterday, it should all be gone in just a few weeks.

Unbelievable. I would really like to see a catalogue of the predictions of the UN going back to ’88 or so, especially the ones with firm timetables.

OK.
Seriously.
Does he believe what he’s saying?

I saw on another site he said that a year ago, so only 4 more years. Why doesn’t GM hire this guy to sell cars? I’m pretty sure he could sell refrigerators to Eskimos’.

In other highlights of the program, Al Gore stated that he was so concerned about the state of the climate that he vowed to only do his intercontinental travel via sailing ships henceforth, while travel throughout the U.S.A. would be done by bicycle after the spring thaw. He also announced that he was donating his many mansions to house the poor while he and the Missus were moving to a small straw house in the midwest where they would grow their own vegetables and livestock in a sustainable, soil-building and carbon-sequestering manner.
/Since apparently we have tuned in to “Fairy Tale Theater”.

Is he looking at the same data we are???
REPLY: I don’t think Gore looks at data outside of the safe cocoon he has constructed for himself. – Anthony

Five years is JUST out of reach for a one-term Obama.
I guess we’ll have to elect Obama to a second term now, just to make sure he has time to get the job done.

The man is insufferable but capable of real comedy, albeit unintentionally. The good news for the “Goracle” is that the media is so in the tank for him that this will disappear down the memory hole without any notice from his adoring fans.

BTW, the current cooling trend illustrates how fast the globe is warming…..
I’m resigned to the wasted time and money by this crowd.

Anthony: For some reason, I laughed out loud when I read that headline. I still can’t wipe the smile from my face. Thanks. I needed that.

Of course they will claim because of their efforts global warming was reversed. It is all win-win for these shysters.
By the way, by that time he will be a billionaire.

As usual, the ridiculous scare tactics are used. Here is another example from surprise, surprise, the associated press know nothings.http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2008/12/14/time-running-obama-curb-global-warming/

The Arctic icecap does not actually have to be “gone” – merely, NANSEN will re-adjust the coverage to zero so that the real world conforms to the models and Gore will then be correct.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t every doom-sayer throughout history been wrong? We are still here, aren’t we?

Obama left with little time to curb global warming
By SETH BORENSTEIN, AP Science Writer – 19 mins ago
WASHINGTON – When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, global warming was a slow-moving environmental problem that was easy to ignore. Now it is a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can’t avoid.
Since Clinton’s inauguration, summer Arctic sea ice has lost the equivalent of Alaska, California and Texas. The 10 hottest years on record have occurred since Clinton’s second inauguration. Global warming is accelerating. Time is close to running out, and Obama knows it.

David Suzuki has stated that the world would see catastrophic warming in 10 years. Unfortunately, he said that 20 years ago, ….

All I know is I sit here in a campground in Nanaimo B.C ( I’m building a new house here) , under a foot of snow, waiting to go back to my family and home in Calgary Ab. where it is – 30 C w/ windchills in the – 40’s.
Nanaimo is basically in a rain forest on Vancouver Island and it’s gonna be sub-freezing for over one more week!
Can I make a bet with you Al ? Five years , your NUTS!!!!!!

No, but he knows others will, so he just shouts louder, evidence be damned.

Like monkeys, typewriters, and shakespeare, so many doomsayers are bound to get one or two things “right”. Of course they’re never the really big things.

So what happens when all that insulating ice “melts?”. Without the barrier to heat loss the Arctic sea will cool dramatically.
The formation of sea ice is about wind and multi-year ice. Without the multi-year ice, from which the sea ice grows, there would be much more cooling of the sea water because the longer Arctic water is without a protective layer of ice the more the water cools.

Australia will save the world with a 5% CO2 emissions cut…
No – really we will – for absolute sure- we will.
We’re using an emissions trading scheme – much like Kyoto and that sure worked…

He is a liar and crazy. Look at him. If he was your neighbor, you would avoid him.
If he worked in your office, you would call HR about a dangerous threat.
My predictions three years was this:
As AGW claims continue to fail when measured against reality, as they are, the promoters and leaders in the AGW community will ratchet up their fear mongering to higher and higher levels of hysteria.
As we see.

5 years from now I probably won’t be able to afford an internet connection (after Obama’s economic/green agenda) so somebody will have to send me a card to let me know what happens.

Prediction by the famous oceanographer, Ted Danson: Remember back in 1988, Ted Danson predicted that we only had ten years to live because the oceans were going to be dead and, if the oceans died, then we would soon follow?
We are living on borrowed time, 10 years worth.
