News Corp Australia chair says outlets not part of climate crisis ‘denial machine’

A senior News Corp Australia executive has defended the company’s platforming of climate science deniers, saying its news outlets were not part of a “denial machine” spreading misinformation.

The chair of the committee, Greens senator Peter Whish-Wilson, asked Miller “why do you platform climate sceptics” and said News Corp “[relies] on lots of opinion pieces from lots of people that are climate deniers”.

“I hope you are not suggesting that we should censor them?” Miller responded.

“This country has a great democracy and healthy debate and to answer your question there are people with differing opinions to your own but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a voice.”

Whish-Wilson said several submissions to the inquiry had claimed News Corp Australia was part of a “climate denial machine” that included PR companies, thinktanks and consultancies.

Asked if News Corp was part of that machine, Miller said: “No. We are part of a debate machine maybe, but not a denial machine.”

Question is …

… why does anyone platform scientifically ignorant and brain-washed activist Green senators. !

There is no “climate crisis” !

There is no evidence that human released CO2 will ever cause one.

There is no measured scientific evidence that CO2 effects “the climate” in any way whatsoever.

And they both have very low humidity, i.e., H20 ppm as a greenhouse gas is not relevant in those areas, plus CO2 ppm as a greenhouse gas is irrelevant as well.

CO2 IS AN ABSOLUTELY VITAL FOR GROWING FLORA AND FAUNA; NET ZERO IS A SUICIDE PACT
https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/co2-is-an-absolutely-vital-gas-ingredient-for-growing-flora-and

.
The IPCC, etc., has endowed CO2 gas as having magical global warming power, based on its own “science”
The IPCC, etc., claims, CO2 acts as Climate Control Knob, that eventually will cause runaway Climate Change, if we continue using fossil fuels.
The IPCC, etc., denies the Little Ice Age, uses fraudulent computer temperature projections.
.
Governments proclaimed: Go Wind and Solar, Go ENERGIEWENDE, go Net zero by 2050, etc., and provided oodles of subsidies, and rules and regulations, and mandates, and prohibitions to make it happen.
.
Net-zero by 2050 to-reduce CO2 is a super-expensive suicide pact, to:
1) increase command/control by governments, and
2) enable the moneyed elites to become more powerful and richer, at the expense of all others, by using the foghorn of the government-subsidized/controlled Corporate Media to spread scare-mongering slogans and brainwash people, already for at least 50 years; extremely biased CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, NBC ABC, CBS come to mind.
.
CO2, just 0.042% in the atmosphere, is a weak absorber of a small fraction of the absorbable, low-energy IR photons.
CO2 has near-zero influence on world surface temperatures.
CO2 is a life-giving molecule. Greater CO2 ppm in atmosphere is an essential ingredient for:
1) increased green flora, which increases fauna all over the world, including desert areas, and
2) increased crop yields to better feed 8 billion people.
.
At About 30% Annual W/S Electricity on the Grid, Various Costs Increase Exponentially
The W/S systems uglify the countryside, kill birds and bats, whales and dolphins, fisheries, tourism, view-sheds, etc.
The weather-dependent, variable/intermittent W/S output, often too-little and often too-much, creates grid-disturbing difficulties that become increasingly more challenging and more costly (c/kWh) to counteract, as proven by the UK and California for the past 5 years, and Germany for the past 10 years, and recently in Spain/Portugal.
.
All have “achieved” near-zero, real- growth GDPs, the highest electricity prices (c/kWh) in the EU, and stagnant real wages for almost all people, while further enriching the moneyed elites who live in the poshest places.
.
Native People Suffer Extra Burdens: Their angry, over-taxed, over-regulated native populations, already burdened by the wind/solar/batteries nonsense, and then further burdened by the bureaucrat/moneyed elites bringing in tens of millions of uninvited, unvetted, uneducated, unskilled, ghetto-trash, crime-prone, poor folks, from dysfunctional countries.
Those folks are sucking from the multiple, government-program tits, while making:
1) minimal efforts to produce goods and services; and
2) maximum efforts to be chaotic, culture-destroying burden, the native populations never voted for.
.
Minimal Temperature Change due to CO2: The climate is not any different, even though, atmosphere CO2 increased from 280 ppm in 1850 to 420 ppm in 2025, 50% in 175 years. During that time, world surface temps increased by at most 1.5 C +/- 0.25 C, of which:
.
1) Urban heat islands account for about 65% (0.65 x 1.5 = 0.975 C) of the warming, such as the UHI of about 700 miles, from north of Portland, Maine, to south of Norfolk, Virginia, forested in 1850, now covered with heat-absorbing human detritus, plus the waste heat of fuel burning.
Japan, China, India, Europe, etc., have similar heat islands
About 65% of the US linear warming trend between 1895 and 2023 was due to increasing population density at the suburban and urban stations; 8% of the warming was due to urbanization at rural stations. Most of that UHI effect warming occurred before 1970.
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2025/05/16/live-at-1-p-m-eastern-shock-climate-report-urban-heat-islands-responsible-for-65-of-global-warming/
2) CO2 accounts for less than 0.3 C, with the rest from
3) Long-term, inter-acting cycles, such as coming out of the Little Ice Age,
4) Earth surface volcanic activity, and other changes, such as from increased agriculture, deforestation, especially in the Tropics, etc.
.
BTW, the 1850 surface temp measurements were only in a few locations and mostly inaccurate, +/- 0.5 C.
The 1979-to-present temp measurements (46 years) cover most of the earth surface and are more accurate, +/- 0.25 C, due to NASA satellites.
Any graphs should show accuracy bands.
The wiggles in below image are due to plants rotting late in the year, emitting CO2, plants growing early in the year, consuming CO2, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere. See URL

Actually, I think this helps Newscorp. So many people are now starting to look at the very left wing greens (more red than green these days) and then look at the environmental damage inflicted in “saving” us from climate catastrophe and ask why can’t we see alternative ideas.

I suppose pointing out that adding CO2 to air does not make thermometers hotter can be dismissed by assorted dimwits and numbskulls as being merely fantasy generated by “The Great Climate Denial Machine”!

Regardless of how much putrid green slime the truth has to work it’s way through, in the end it will rise to the surface and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do about it.
There are positive signs world wide that the truth making an appearance here and there. To help it along, people with an eye to office should thoroughly acquaint themselves with the lack of any evidence of a problem with the climate. I do remember hearing Senator Matt Canavan saying ”there is very little evidence of CO2 causing any of the issues attributed to it”. (or words to that effect) So some are paying attention but unfortunately still constrained by the latest party line.

Michael Miller, told a Senate inquiry into climate and energy misinformation there was no coordination across the organisation’s news outlets

This is a Senate “Select Committee on Information Integrity on Climate Change and Energy” set up by the Greens who currently hold one 1 out of 150 in the House of Representative and 10 out of 76 in the Senate.
Like all natural petty tyrants they clearly want legislation enacted to stifle free and open debate on anything they don’t like, including the absurdly titled ‘climate crisis’.
What gets me is the popularity of double-barrelled surnames amongst their parliamentary members: Elizabeth Watson-Brown (Reps) Sarah Hanson-Young, Peter Whish-Wilson, Jordon Steele-John, Penny Allman-Payne, Steph Hodgins-May (all Sen), that’s over 50%.
It can’t be coincidence, it must be a symptom of some common psychological drive to feel important.

American football players are developing that same name symptom. It’s hilarious listening to the announcers trying to pronounce their names.

American football players have a number of psychological issues.

One announcer described one player last night as “immature”, which I thought was a little too kind, after he was penalized for showing off excessively (unsportsmanlike conduct) after a touchdown was made. His showing off penalty caused his team to miss scoring a point.

I think there is a lot of that kind of immature behavior in football. But I guess they *are* young, but still, they could act like they have a little class, instead of the goofing they carry out after every successful play. It gets real boring for me, real quick. I guess this stupidity (imo) is part of the culture now. You now see little kids doing these chest beating gyrations and demonstrations.

A lot of followers. Not many leaders.

Oklahoma did beat Alabama on Saturday night. That’s two years in a row that Oklahoma has beaten Alabama in football. I wonder how long it’s been since Alabama, one of the best college football teams in history, was beaten two years in a row?

And no, I don’t like Oklahoma players beating their chests when the game is not over, either. I cringe every time I see one of them acting like a fool, just because it’s expected of him, and he is too weak to think for himself. Got to conform to the culture. Got to act a fool for everybody’s entertainment.

I guess I’m just a non-conformist at heart, and it irritates me to see people who are not, and act like fools and think that’s cool.

I would never act this way. I suppose I would be an outcast on the football team. They would think my behavior was a criticism of their antics. And they would be correct.

WSJ, the American outlet of News Corp tries to straddle climate issues with editorials reliably “denialist”, but with news articles sympathetic with greens. They have a coterie of reporters assigned to cover developments in the “clean energy transition”, ESG, sustainability, corporate disclosure and so on. Whatever their marching orders or philosophical bent, the paper often straddles issues even in the same issue.

The mixed messages may be part of the legacy of Ruperto Murdoch, carried on by his son. Is it the same in Australian outlets?

people that are climate deniers”.

Let’s have a look at what the people screeching ”climate denial” understand it to be….

AI Overview

climate denial

Climate denial is rejecting the scientific consensus on climate change, disputing its causes, effects, and the need for action. It involves disputing the human role in climate change, understating the impacts, or overstating the costs of mitigation efforts. This is often done through rhetorical tactics that create a false sense of scientific debate where none exists.

Get that? No debate exists!

Denying the science: This includes rejecting the overwhelming evidence that climate change is occurring and is driven by human activities.

Where are all these people who are ”overwhelmed” by the evidence. Anyone? Do they mean school children or what?

Downplaying the effects: Another form is to acknowledge climate change but deny its severity or argue that its effects on nature and society are minimal.

Severity? Err what severity? Where is the severity? If no one mentioned climate change, no one would even know it was happening.

Misrepresenting the costs: Climate denial can also involve minimizing the costs of addressing climate change while exaggerating the costs of mitigation policies.

And what has any of that to do with climate denial? Wiki is just making up it’s own rules now?

Implicit denial: Sometimes, denial is less overt and happens when individuals accept the science but fail to align their beliefs with their actions, according to Wiki

Utter drivel. No one on earth, believers or not, have changed what they do because of climate change”
This is climate denial folks. Real Monty Python stuff.

I’ve learned a lot about a few AI’s. A recent foray into what I thought was a way to get a quick answer on a physics question was enlightening. The answer was wrong, I knew it was wrong, but I didn’t know what the right answer was.

So next thing I know its been an hour of debating climate science with ChatGPT, backing it into one corner after another. I finally got it trapped in a corner it couldn’t get out of, at which point some odd sentences about acknowledging error flashed for less than a second, and then it started admitting that I was right (with some noted reservations). So what was that flash of letters and the sudden change in attitude?

That was ChatGPT going into Analytic Mode, which it explained forced it to use fact based evidence rather than popular narratives. Oh, said I, can I order you to answer only in Analytic Mode from now on? Yup. Worth it. No more flowery responses, no more popular narratives, just the facts ma’am.

Yes, AIs are quite interesting. ChatGPT does know its fundamental physics, though, which is more than you can say for a lot of the non-physicists around here. I make sure to ask questions that have well-defined yes-or-no answers, and then I force it to only respond “yes” or “no”, to prevent it from injecting its usual left-wing unsupported nonsense (or “popular narratives”) into what should be a straightforward answer. For example, I like to use this question and answer to debunk some of the second-law-violating baloney that our local engineers, lawyers, and fishermen like to spout on a regular basis:

This undemocratic stance adopted by Whish-Wilson who wants to silence and no platform anyone who presents views he does not want aired, is exactly the position the BBC has achieved. They have not allowing any Climate Realist on to the corporation’s platform since 2015 as detailed by Iain Macwerter’s piece in yesterday’s WUWT.
They are a fraud and afraid of the truth,
Why these international organisations want to destroy effective safe civilised society, I do not know, but that is the unstated objective and ultimate outcome of all their denigration of reliable affordable energy.

It is simply a matter of contrasting those who hold catastropic climate change views with those who hold realistic climate views based on observations and not model projections. By lining these up side by side intelligent readers and listeners can see how ludicrous the alarmist view is. I have never met anyone who while sceptical about a climate change threat denies the reality of climate and that it encompasses a variety of weather conditions and a considerable range of temperatures and rainfall.

November 17, 2025 4:30 am

What if there is, in fact, a simulation machine that takes the daytime pulses of absorbed solar energy experienced at each gridbox, and computes the kinetic response of the compressible working fluid of the atmosphere, and that ends up producing a valid representation of the general circulation?

The ERA5 reanalysis model is the “climate denial” machine you are looking for! Energy conversion within the general circulation massively overwhelms the minor increase in IR absorbing power from a rising concentration of CO2. An explanation with references is given here in this Google Drive folder. Start with the Readme document.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PDJP3F3rteoP99lR53YKp2fzuaza7Niz?usp=drive_link

Bottom line: THE MODELERS KNOW from the math and physics of compressible flow, that the radiative influence of incremental CO2 on the climate system is negligible. Vanishingly weak. Not discoverable directly by any means we have available to us. Not capable of driving “warming” or ANY trend of ANY climate variable.

And here is a newly annotated image to make this point concisely.

Here’s the truth: Skeptics are not going to shut up, and the UN cannot make them shut up. Go ahead, try it. You won’t be able to do it in the United States. Maybe in Europe and Australia.
