Trump Return Could See Climate Progress ‘Unraveled,’ Sally Jewell Says
The former Interior secretary said she’s “terrified” about what a second Trump administration could mean for climate and environmental policy.

12 July 2024 at 5:15 am AESTSally Jewell, who served as US Interior secretary from 2013 to 2017, said the climate stakes of the election in November “could not be higher” and that she’s “really afraid for the future of our planet” should former President Donald Trump return to the White House.
“To go backwards is not acceptable,” Jewell told attendees at the Bloomberg Green Festival in Seattle on Thursday. “I can’t say enough about the importance of continuing the progress that has been made over the last three years” on climate change, she added, especially the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.

One of the biggest hurdles to getting to net zero is that consumers still aren’t paying for putting carbon in the atmosphere, Jewell said. Economic incentives are needed: “Until we start shining a spotlight on the true impact, I don’t think people are going to begin to change their behaviors.”

If this woman truly believes what she says, she and all of the left should be ardently against illegal immigration. Emissions growth or slowing of the decline is directly due to population growth in the U.S. Every new illegal is one more consumer responsible for resource use and emissions growth.
But these people don’t recognize their cognitive dissonance, because they don’t really believe their own climate rhetoric. They are a death cult, emissaries of satan. They are personally sold out, motivated by the age-old ambitions of power, pleasure and profits.

WASHINGTON — Tens of millions of dollars raised by a landmark climate law in Washington state will go to Native American tribes that are at risk from climate change and rising sea levels to help them move to higher ground, install solar panels, buy electric vehicles and restore wetlands, Gov. Jay Inslee announced Tuesday.
Inslee and Washington State Democrats are delusional.

I am a bit confused by that specific fee structure, and it’s distribution matrix.
I understand taxes. They take your money and spend it how they want to. I am at a loss as to what fee means in the State of Washington. I’ve done two jobs on the north side of the Columbia (of course, under the absolute direction & supervision of a buddy that stamped the report for me); are there any other words (in Washington) that I need to be aware of that mean what they don’t say?
Ms Jewell seems to believe that CO2 is endangering the planet. Then why not do her best to get China and India to stop building coal power stations? Those two nations dominate CO2 production these days and must by her measure clearly be endangering the planet! No? But then, since she didn’t say anything about China and India, perhaps she doesn’t really believe.
Yeah, I bet Jewell has not complained even once about the CO2 output of China and India.
I am always puzzled when someone that has an engineering background all be not the main part of their adult career focus still thinks human activity involving fossil fuels has any meaningful let alone critical effect on climate.
It does not take long reading around the subject to get into the core features of climate influence. An educated open minded individual quickly realises, what the developed economies in the West do (regarding fossil fuel) makes no lasting difference to fossil fuel consumption world wide. They also quickly realise, it makes an immeasurable difference to climate anyway.
That leaves only one other explanation for educated individuals to call upon, to justify their unsupported anxieties, belief, plain old fashioned blind belief.
If we look at the key advocates rolled out to ‘big up’ AGW/Climate Change the common feature is how uneducated they are about the subject they are so passionate about. Al Gore, Emma Thompson, King Charles, the list is endless and topped by Greta Thunberg the ultimate know nothing uneducated spokes person for the faithful.
This observation of those engaged in the none debate about AGW leads me to conclude, no science based facts will ever change the position of the believers in man made climate change. They are on a mission. The destruction of modern society is their desired outcome. 2030 cometh.
Those who are to be persuaded by it should be completely immersed in the ideas of the propaganda, without ever noticing that they are being immersed in it (Joseph Goebbels).
This lady has been soaked in climate change nonsense and never noticed it.
She was wearing clothes while she spoke. Covered in oil and her “carbon footprint” is not zero.
Ms Jewell should sally forth, to mainland china, and then on to India, and at least try to deliver her “message” in those countries.
(I know, even the “How dare you” youngster was willing to try that.)
