The other day Judith Curry made the point that the left is getting their message across with bumper stickers, slogans and sound bites. Here at WattsUpWithThat nearly two hours of someone airing their tonsils …..

Yesterday Willis E. made the point:

“Pass. I HATE videos. No way to skim them, move far too slow so they don’t outpace the slowest watcher, no references or citations …
Grrr …”

With most online videos you can click on the gear icon to bring up the settings menu and you can increase the playback speed without changing the pitch of the audio (so it doesn’t sound like the chipmunks). I find that increasing to 1.5X is still intelligible and reduces the viewing time to 2/3.

113 minutes vs. 75 minutes. To each their own.

Right arrowing through picked off the funny conversation about masturbation but nothing detailed about the usual topics of sea level, methane, cherry picking, Greenland melting, nitrous oxide, polar bears, windmills, hurricanes, etc. that I might be interested in.

Plus podcasts are often a couple of hours long. It’s somewhere past healthy fandom to listen to hours of opinionated commentary, even if you agree with it….

Whatever happened to transcripts?

Bingo, one of the many authors here at WUWT could have provided a good synopsis, a few hundred words or so. And the link.

Unless education is wrested from the clutches of alarmists and wokeists it’s game over

If governments, when controlled by true conservatives, don’t eliminate the 50% plus of expenditures that go the liberal purposes and directly to liberal employees and NGOs which employ liberals, thus eliminating massive amounts of political donations to liberal parties, then the US, in particular, and western democracies, in general, are soon to be dictatorships.

Another article just here at WUWT shows the EPA is looking to add even more useless liberals to the payroll.

Every time Dems in the US are in power, they create new jobs for the otherwise useless of society. All the liberal arts college “educated” are a net drag on ANY economy, and thus liberal politicians create jobs to pay them to campaign for their reelection.

Back when Reagan was president, Dan Rather did a segment on the CBS evening news. He interviewed a female liberal arts graduate who was on her way home to Florida IIRC, because there were no jobs in the Reagan economy for her. No discussion of the fact she got a degree in what was called, when I went to UVA in the early 70s, “basket weaving”.

That was the very LAST time I watched CBS Evening news. Rather’s obvious bias driving me away. And CBS was the most “conservative” network at the time. Over the next 10 years, I stopped getting Time, then Newsweek, then finally U.S News as they each got more leftist.

I think that each country will have to hit a sort of brick wall on its own and learn on its own that green energy does not work and retreat from renewables, but how far will each have to go? The media wants to hide the truths, there will have to be big black outs, as happened in Texas.

Maybe there are tipping points after all?

Off topic- sorry, but I wanted to pass this one along from 7 years ago. I’m sure many of you saw it but if not, be sure to do so. Smart, witty, and brilliantly sarcastic. Loved it. I wasn’t familiar with Mark but I’ll start looking for more videos by him as I know he’s in many.

Thanks for posting – very funny stuff. And lots of very good points.

ok this is worth listing to. The agreement between the panel on how easily the false narratives are propagated by MSM and evangelists is worth listening to so you can pass this on to your lib friends and family. Although almost everyone here at Watts up have known it since the beginning.

Though 65+ is the fastest growing segment of US population, the two age groups spanning 5-35 are both almost the same size. WUWT comments skew waaaaaay high in age (and also white-male).
The YouTube market is not interested in a transcript.

why is the editor posting an interview of this liberal dolt here?? I can get that on any TV channel. he is a liberal politician and knows nothing about climate or physics.
