Friday Funny: Paul Ehrlich Discredits the Peer Review Process

Ever since CBS trotted out serial doomster Ehrlich to promote his never ending negative knowledge this week, we’ve heard a lot of pushbacks.

For example, this post yesterday from Anthony

Well on Tuesday it was all just too much for the old malthusian and he lashed out at all those right wingers.

Twitter was not kind to nonagenarian face of environmental chicken littleism. Here are some examples.

It is quite entertaining to read the quote tweets directly. I highly recommend it.

Dr. Roger Pielke Jr also joined in the response.

🧵
This 1971 review of Ehrlich and Ehrlich by Roger Revelle titled, “Paul Ehrlich: New High Priest of Ecocatastrophe” is really something

https://doi.org/10.2307/2134034

The poor should stay poor, to allow more for us
Hence the concept of “never-to-be-developed countries”

I had no idea Revelle was so spicy:

“No one can blame the Ehrlichs, living within a few miles of the Bay Shore Highway between San Francisco and San Jose, for thinking that the four-fold growth of California’s population since 1930 is a disaster”

Compulsory abortion, sure, why not

I’ll end this medley with a video clip demonstrating what a disgusting, anti-human, anti-freedom, totalitarian statist, Ehrlich always has been. It’s illustrative that he begins by saying he’s not in favor of government interference then goes on to describe all the ways he wants government to interfere.

A secondary low with heavy precipitation reaches California. It will stop over the mountains.

Rain is good. Of course, with California, there’s either not enough rain, or too much rain. This time it’s too much rain. So hang onto your hats.

It could be worse: Everything could be brown and dying.

Here’s a ring-side seat of what it really looks like when political operatives concoct a useful story – in this example Russian interference in the 2016 election – and literally force / coerce organisations like Facebook and Twitter to “find” evidence for it. And the punishment that follows when they fail to find what they were told to find.

Naive to imagine that this method is not front and center in climate science also.

One more low is waiting in the Pacific lined up for California. It too will bring heavy precipitation.

Sure beats what happens with the reverse…Blocking High…weather pattern. I purposely don’t live in a flood prone area (next to a creek, along a river or in a low point) and am glad to see it. After 3+ years of drought, the rain is welcomed

In two days another cold front will reach California, in four days another.

Yea…more wintertime precipitation

People who still believe anything Paul Ehrlich says are like the ones who bet the wide receiver will catch the pass and lose when he drops it but keep betting that he will catch it THIS time as they watch the video replay.

Very heavy precipitation north of Sacramento. Heavy snowfall in the mountains.
The low is located over California.

In two days, another stratospheric intrusion from the north along with a rain front will reach northern California.

If anyone thinks that the winter storms in California will end, they are mistaken. This is indicated by the polar vortex circulation, which is blocked over the Bering Sea by ozone accumulation.

He’s against government interference in our lives. Except for the fascism against families, anyway.

How embarrassing that old age is going to get Paul Ehrlich before any of his doomsday predictions will.
