Big Oil heiress funding ‘Just Stop Oil’ group that threw soup on Van Gogh painting

Fox news published this story

A Big Oil heiress is a key funder of a sprawling global network of grassroots climate groups, including the U.K.-based Just Stop Oil, which staged a protest Friday vandalizing a famous painting.

Aileen Getty, the granddaughter of the Getty Oil founder, is the founding donor of the Climate Emergency Fund (CEF), a Los Angeles-based organization that finances several high-profile climate protest groups around the world. Getty, who is a prolific environmental philanthropist, wired $500,000 to CEF shortly after it was founded in 2019, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Boosted by Getty’s initial and continued contributions, CEF has awarded millions of dollars to radical groups that have engaged in disruptive protests worldwide. Among CEF’s grantees is the A22 Network, which is made up of Just Stop Oil, the U.S.-based Declare Emergency and groups in nine countries including Germany, France and Canada.

In recent months, the group has repeatedly organized protests in which its members have glued themselves to famous paintings. Just Stop Oil activists have also blocked major roads and highways in the U.K., in some cases forcing emergency vehicles to take different routes to their destination.

There’s nothing new here, whiny narcissistic children prattling on in their deluded sense of moral superiority and committing vandalism, financed by the spoiled heirs of industrial magnates, who can only give meaning to their luxurious but empty lives with virtue signaling.

If you watch the video, either because it loads above or you go to link, note the inflection of the girl speaking. It’s an exact Greta Thuneberg imitation. The indoctrination is ubiquitous.

I’ve embedded the video, but Fox News embeds are notoriously slow to load.

Also, by choosing Tomato Soup (cans), an extremely important historical symbol in American modern art, ala Warhol, they have actually created a performance art piece which could be said to have an interesting media-is-the-message self-referential art loop. Campbell’s would have been a better choice.

I doubt many art critics will take note.

This is what happens when everybody gets a prize. It goes to their head, and they think they are just too good to be a Candy Striper at the local hospital.

Someone fills their head with nonsense and BOOM! Next thing you know they are throwing tomato soup on Van Goghs and gluing themselves to walls.

Where were their parents when they were 4 and 5 years old?

I wonder if they have a plan for freeing themselves if the police don’t come and rescue them. I guess they’ll just have to hang around for a while.

I hadn’t really thought about that. Maybe it would be a good tactic with these protests to glue them even more firmly down and let them get on with it.

Sooner or later they will need to make a trip to the ladies room. How will that work out?

The proper punishment for her and her kind is an individual tax on her. 100% sounds about right but instead of giving the money to the government to squander, it should be given tax free to fossil fuel and nuclear power companies to generate more power for the rest of us.

“Wired $500,000 to CEF”? If I wired $5 to WUWT would PayPal block it and take $5000 from my account?

Surely the entire affair was carefully orchestrated with the participation of the management of the museum?

‘Getty’ is a huge name in the art world, major contributor to the National Gallery where this took place. I think there’s a Getty Wing or something.
“. . . a new ground floor entrance, which was named in honour of Sir Paul Getty and opened to the public in 2004.”

The more outlandish these XR and Stop oil demos get, the more alienated from mainstream society the activists become.
One day, these modern day Luddites will reflect and realise, it is only the wealth generated from past generations of their family’s activities that gives them the free time and resource to perform these stupid stunts.
When they mature in maybe thirty years time they will realise what a bunch of spoiled brats they were.
Stupid stunts by cupid stunts, I think that is how it is worded….

Quite oblivious to the fact that tomatoes, being of Nightshade family of weeds, are The Hungriest and Ugliest Triffids on this Earth.
Joint 3rd hungriest (with potatoes) after #1 Tobacco and #2 Cotton then #4 Wheat

You’ve heard the rest from me a million times, the cultivation of those things is what’s causing the so far observed Climate Change.
Nice positive feedback comes from the consumption of such nutrient free mush, when the empty heads thus created become echo chambers that resonate and become paranoid.
Nobody actually thinks any more

So we witness panic reactions to everything from Acid rain, Ozone Holes, Diesel, Beef eating, Nitrogen Oxides, Methane, Fracking etc etc.

This thing has been building for quite some time.
We are now so demented and panic-stricken as to do something sooooo dumb as to wipe ourselves out

The biggest irony of course is them protesting against cheap, abundant energy whilst claiming to represent/fight for people left in the cold because of heating/cooking bills 😀

Whether our dysfunctional Parliament, police, prosecution service and courts will let her do so is a more open question, despite clear majority opinion in favour.

The worst of the morons are the limousine liberals who, in their guilt-ridden angst, are preyed upon by Rasputin-like manipulators (see the Rockefellers and the charlatan Bill McKibben) who preach the “world saving” gospel.

Others who fall into this category are the Hewletts (heirs to the Hewlett Packard fortune), John Kerry (even before he got his hands on Teresa Heinz’ inherited fortune), “Fat Al” Gore, Jeremy Grantham, Michael Bloomberg, and, now, Aileen Getty.

I think the New Congress should investigate all billionaires, left and right, and determine their political influence. These are the people behind our curtain pulling the strings, and it’s about time the light was shone on these activities, many of which are very detrimental to society and the status quo.

One billionaire, Mark Zuckerburg, may have swung the 2020 presidential election all by himself with his millions of dollars. That’s too much political influence for one person.

It’s time to rein in the globalist billionaires. George Soros, anyone? Is crime out of control in your neighborhood? There’s a good chance that was caused by money George Soros put out in his efforts to coddle criminals. He is sponsoring all these leftwing District Attorneys who refuse to lock up violent offenders. George wants these violent offenders on your streets.

They funded sedition. Their ‘charity status must be revoked an send them multi-100s of billions tax bills. Is there any political guts for this. The FBI raided Trump without cause, so they have a blueprint for tackling these actual illegal ‘charities’. Perhaps an order to build a hundred coal fired electricity plants for the poorest countries could be included.

The “Just Stop Oil” numpties held a demo in the centre of London today. They blocked a main road and sprayed an Aston Martin store with orange paint.
Here’s a pic of one of the protesters. Need I say more?

I’m a teacher here in London and it’s become trendy amongst the kids to announce that they are trans, non-binary, identify as a toadstool, etc.
It’s been driven by the militant trans movement and it’s sucking kids into their poisonous little world.
I am friends with a couple of genuine trans people and they abhor the militant trans movement – they just want to get on with their life quietly.
