A Very Serious Consequence of Climate Change–Sadiq Khan

From Not A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

It seems that Sadiq Khan has been sending this extremely irresponsible and misleading warning out to his citizens – (my bold):

There is no evidence whatsoever that the heatwave is a “consequence” of climate change. It is a weather event, one which is the direct result of an extremely rare set of meteorological conditions.

The clue to this lies in the weather models run a few days ago, which showed an extremely unlikely chance of temperatures reaching 40C. Weather models are run over and over again thousands of times, in order to provide a range of outcomes varying around very small changes to assumptions. In other words, the meteorological set up we are now likely facing was considered as an extreme outlier just a few days ago.

Even accepting that average summer temperatures in the UK have increased by a half a degree or so since the 1940s, the upcoming heatwave would still have occurred a century ago, albeit with temperatures a half a degree lower. In those days, of course, Londoners were much less prepared to deal with hot weather.

To label it as “potentially dangerous” is also irresponsible scaremongering, given that millions of Brits fly out to Spain and other countries, where temperatures are regularly much higher.

Of course, people need to take sensible precautions, but they don’t need the Mayor lecturing them.

While Khan is playing political games with climate change, I would ask whether he ever puts out red warnings every winter when it gets cold. Surely he knows that many more people die in the cold of winter?

And that death tolls in summer are always the lowest of any season, heatwaves or not.

Surely he would welcome a slightly warmer climate?

FOOTNOTE

The Met Office has issued its first ever Red Warning, which spans most of central England:

Forecasts for towns such as Manchester and Leeds, which are encompassed by the warning indicate temperatures might reach about 36C.

Yet temperatures of 36C are certainly not unprecedented in the South East, but were never accompanied by Red Warnings?

Are the Met Office playing politics too?

CO2 slows cooling so raises the Tmin temperature. The thing that raised high temperatures Tmax is extra insolation coupled with warm air being blown in from places like North Africa. Since the Clean Air Acts in the UK were implemented there has been a large reduction in Sulphur Dioxide in our atmosphere which has reduced solar reflection and hence increased insolation. Nothing to do with CO2.

I’m pretty sure sure the Brits will survive. If we Aussies avoided the outdoors every time the temperature hits 104F / 40C we’d have very boring summers.

Americans may (not) be interested to know that Sadiq Khan is the Mayor of London. What he was before the heat got to him is anyone’s guess.

A failed politician.

Didn’t the British spend some time in India and it wasn’t considered “dangerous”…/sarc

Except that only mad dogs and Englishmen went out in the mid-day sun. The Englishmen survived; the mad dogs didn’t.

The more extreme the idiotic climate doomsday warnings and predictions become, the more people will realise that they’re being lied to.
Keep ’em coming, Mr Khan!

I refer to the Met Office HadCET daily data for Tmax from this source:
https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/cetmaxdly1878on_urbadj4.dat

I plotted the 5-year mean of Tmax in deg F for each date in July from years 1878 through 2021. So the data points are from 1880 to 2019.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ILDWfrTkpac53vbmmHQGuaXMwISF-_YJ?usp=sharing

View the images one by one in sequence forward or back. The cycles, apparent trends, peaks, etc. are much different by date.

But don’t you see the influence of CO2 emissions, a.k.a. Climate Change?!!? I don’t either.

Yawn (As the head posting image suggests.)

Follow the science: “In conclusion on the basis of observational data, the climate crisis that, according to many sources, we are experiencing today, is not evident yet.”

The residents of Atlanta (GA) or Hot Springs (AR) should be so lucky as to have the Heat Index forecast for central England.

There is NO CLIMATE CRISIS!

THE CLIMATE HAS ALWAYS CHANGED!

5000 years ago, there was the Egyptian 1st Unified Kingdom warm period
4400 years ago, there was the Egyptian old kingdom warm period.
3000 years ago, there was the Minoan Warm period. It was warmer than now WITHOUT fossil fuels.
Then 1000 years later, there was the Roman warm period. It was warmer than now WITHOUT fossil fuels.
Then 1000 years later, there was the Medieval warm period. It was warmer than now WITHOUT fossil fuels. 1000 years later, came our current warm period.

You are claiming that whatever caused those earlier warm periods suddenly quit causing warm periods, only to be replaced by man’s CO2 emission, perfectly in time for the cycle of warmth every 1000 years to stay on schedule. Not very believable.

The entire climate scam crumbles on this one observation because it shows that there is nothing unusual about today’s temperature and ALL claims of unusual climate are based on claims of excess warmth caused by man’s CO2.

Evidence that the Roman & Medieval warm periods were global:

Evidence that those warm periods actually occurred:

Much more evidence on climate:

Even the IPCC debunks climate alarmism: http://www.debunkingclimate.com/ipcc_says.html

Feel free to disagree by showing actual evidence that man’s CO2 is causing serious global warming. (Or show your unwillingness to learn by posting a laughter emoji.)

Eighty Times More Excess Deaths Associated With Cold Each Year than Heat

Amid all the hysteria about next week’s extreme temperatures – which could climb to 41°, according to the Met Office – it’s worth bearing in mind that many, many more excess deaths in England and Wales are associated with cold each year than with heat. According to a recent study in the Lancet Planetary Health, between 2000 and 2019, there were an average of 65,000 excess deaths per year in England and Wales associated with cold, but fewer than 800 a year associated with heat. In other words, roughly 80 times more deaths per year are associated with cold than heat.

Needless to say, the report’s authors blame these excess deaths on ‘climate change’ in general and have nothing to say about the likelihood of the 65,000 figure increasing next
winter as a result of rising energy bills. […]

Somehow these ‘weather events’ keep happening… somehow the ‘special circumstances’ keep cropping up…

These extreme weather events have existed for eternity yet “somehow” this century they have decreased globally by a magnitude of 10 -11% according to the UNDRR data
