Washington DC Climate Protest Horror: Activist Burns Himself to Death

Essay by Eric Worrall

h/t Breitbart; Boulder climate activist Wynn Bruce has died from self inflicted injuries, after setting fire to himself outside the US Supreme Court in Washington DC.

Boulder climate activist dies after apparent act of protest outside U.S. Supreme Court on Earth Day

Friend of Wynn Bruce says his actions in Washington, D.C., were planned to “bring attention to climate crisis”

By SHELLY BRADBURY | sbradbury@denverpost.com and NEW YORK TIMES | The Denver Post
PUBLISHED: April 24, 2022 at 6:05 p.m. | UPDATED: April 24, 2022 at 6:36 p.m.

The Boulder man who set himself on fire in front of the U.S. Supreme Court on Earth Day apparently acted in protest of inaction on climate change.

Wynn Bruce, 50, a climate activist, died Saturday, a day after his actions in front of the nation’s highest court in Washington, D.C. He was airlifted for treatment but did not survive.

Kritee Kanko, who described herself as Bruce’s friend and a Zen Buddhist priest in Boulder, said on Twitter that Bruce’s actions were a planned protest.

“This is a deeply fearless act of compassion to bring attention to climate crisis,” she said in a tweet.

She declined to comment further when reached by The Denver Post on Sunday, saying she needed time to grieve.

However, she told The New York Times she was not completely sure of Bruce’s motivations, the newspaper reported, saying that “people are being driven to extreme amounts of climate grief and despair” and that “what I do not want to happen is that young people start thinking about self-immolation.”

There are indications that Bruce had contemplated this action for some time.

We at WUWT are saddened by the loss suffered by Wynn Bruce’s family and friends.

We urge anyone who feels extreme emotional distress about climate change or anything else to reach out to friends and family, and seek professional counselling.

Sad for the friends and family but mental illness is quite common. There are cases of people sterilizing for fear of future climate and also a few suicides, the small number indicates that the vast majority don’t really buy into the propaganda. All the noise comes a few thousand activists.

We the people should demand that the IPCC specifically define what climate change means and how is it measured. When they fail at this exercise perhaps the Alarmists will see the light…..I definitely won’t hold my breath.

The climate change alarmists and their propaganda organ, the Leftwing Media, have been trying as hard as they can to scare us all to death for years over CO2 and the Earth’s climate, and obviously, they are being successful in their efforts to a certain extent.

Meanwhile, there is no evidence CO2 is a danger to anyone or anything.

This poor man who died has been lied into his grave.

Pretty much what you’d expect of a religious zealot. The climate fraud is religion for atheists, Gaia/God, C02/Satan and our personal sacrifice required to reach Heaven/Utopia and avoid a hell on Earth. It hits all the subconscious buttons of early conditioning; and it’s total inversion – the breath of life becomes the gas of death. And what to make of the fact that carbon is 6 protons, 6 neutrons & 6 electrons: the human body is carbon-based – the ‘Number of Man’ and the designers of the eco-tyrannical new world order intend to replace currency with a carbon chip – ie the ‘Number of the Beast’, the dual meaning of prophecy defined. So is it Divine Warning, a lucky coincidence or pure evil genius to control & enslave humanity with a carbon jackboot?

Every single person who worked to sell the lie that is climate change/global warming shares the blame for this and many other human tragedies linked to this cult of anti-humanism. They insist we keep poor countries poor by limiting access to cheap reliable energy; they insist that waisting 40% of the US corn crop on ethanol which lowers vehicle mileage, damages engines and consumes more land is ecologically and ethically sound behaviour while it raises food prices for the most vulnerable and will, with certainty, result it the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children from malnutrition; they insist that the great tragedy of the war in Ukraine is that it distracts a malevolent power-hungry dictator from focusing on his nation’s carbon emissions. These people have blood on their hands and there is no washing it off.

Indeed.
And just imagine what would happen if, just for the sake of argument, everyone was to suddenly believe that we must instantly stop all usage of fossil fuels, at all, and then we all stopped using them?
The deaths would be in the billions within months.

Well there’s someone who finally found a local spot of global warming. Perhaps its was an ethanol accelerant, rather than a high octane carbon polluting fuel.

When there are record snow falls all around the world, and the Antarctic records its coldest temperature ever, the jig is up. People know UHI is forcing up land based temperature measurements, but all the while the planet is actually getting colder.

So with the truth so obvious, the goose green kingdom of greta and gore comes tumbling down. Form up the goose green suicide squads.

The CAGW crowd has displayed no such deference when it comes to pretending every bad outcome is due to fossil fuels and the CO2 emissions they bring. What cause that induces suffering and death of millions around the world could possibly be considered worthy?

Those are the unwilling martyrs to your cause that you never speak about.

Around 2015 the WHO estimated that by 2050 120,000,000 people in developing nations will die from respiratory illnesses caused by cooking over open, wood fires.

This can be alleviated by providing them access to cheap, reliable, fossil fuel energy. But fanatics like you won’t allow it. That’s 3.5 million people a year dying needlessly, a known problem today, but you’re more worried about what might happen, with no historic evidence whatsoever, in 20 and 30 years time.

Millions of people die every day, and most of them do not do anything to bring about their own demise.
How many tears do you shed, or thoughts do you give, for all of the people who are murdered every day?
We all know how we are supposed to feel when someone dies, but in truth, how much actual pain does one feel for all the people that die whom we never met and have no connection to?

It is wrong to say that no one here has any sympathy though.
I have as much as I can have for someone who takes their own life pointlessly.
I have horror when I consider how it must be to die by immolation.
I have been at death’s door on multiple occasions, after various accidents.
It is no fun to be in agonizing pain and to think you are gonna die…to know you will die if you do not fight with every bit of your will for every single breathe for hours and hours. Days.

I have sympathy, but the idea that any words we share between ourselves is some sort of ghoulish hatefest is itself a sort of hate.
Life goes on, and the living must make sense of the world we live in, as best as we can.
Some of us also feel a responsibility to think about how such an event may harm others who are vulnerable and misguided or similarly disaffected by what they perceive of the world and in their lives.

I’m not in the least sympathetic towards this guy, his cause or his family and friends.

I liken this to so called Islamic terrorism. It’s not Islamic terrorism. People call it that to distance it from what it really is, Muslim terrorism. And within Muslim communities, people know what’s going on, they know who the likely terrorist’s are, the elders and Imams know who these people are, but no one says anything because their faith doesn’t allow it. Indeed, their faith tells them it’s perfectly in order to lie to the Infidels.

Same with this guy. He was clearly obsessed with the impending end of the world. He must have conveyed that obsession to family and friends. No one could be this nutty about a subject and not be seen as obsessed, yet they did nothing about or for him.

The deceit, selfishness and stupidity of this action needs to be called out and exposed for what it is. Sheer violent dishonesty by people like you who are happy to see him martyr himself for your crazy cause. But it’s worse than that, isn’t it? Millions of others around the world, die every day for want of the comfort, prosperity and security fossil fuels offers them. The difference is, he had a choice.

Whilst I’m not religious, I agree entirely with the concept that suicide is a crime against the sanctity of life. Which is why terrorist suicide bombings are not just a crime against humanity and individuals, it displays an evil disregard for precious life by the perpetrators and his/her accomplices.

It also encourages similarly obsessed people to attempt similar actions, or simply give up on life in despair because they are being lied to by people like you.

Life today has never been better for humanity at any time in history, and tomorrow it will be even better, because that is the nature of man. But you peddle the myth that somehow, life will be worse tomorrow than is is today and that’s not just wrong, it’s evil.

The policy prescriptions that Simon and his ilk espouse would eliminate the very means by which 7 billions souls are kept fed and housed and clothed and cared for and from freezing to death.
And they would have us do so precipitously, long before any alternative means have been devised to make sure we can continue on feeding and otherwise keeping alive the vast multitude on the Earth.
Many of them openly call for depopulation, but the fact is that eliminating the sources of energy that maintain our civilization translates in no uncertain terms to deaths on a scale the world has never seen.
This guy seems to have killed himself in an attempt to induce the rest of us to commit civilizational suicide, along with all that entails, including massive numbers of human beings dying badly, in short order.

It’s a lie. All a lie and the CAGW crowd is killing people.

(1) The monks were NOT protesting the war. They were demonstrating against the Catholic regime’s anti-Buddhist regulations.
(2) The monks, according to some sources, were full of opium derivatives.

And then he ended it.

Unfortunately, his feelings are just the tip of the iceberg. Imagine the millions of children, informed that their world will burn, without question, within years. Add to that two years out of school.

Already, we see young adults convinced that bringing new life into the world is sacrilege. What do they have to life for? There aren’t enough psychologists in the world to address this problem.

People like Al Gore don’t seem to understand that there’s a cost to their religion. They saw this as a form of Pascal’s Wager that mean instant fame and riches. They did not think for one minute about what would happen if billions believed them and realized there was nothing that could be done about it.

Probably 30-40 years from now, people will begin to realize that the whole AGW movement was nonsense. But the damage done… hard to even begin to assess.

Yes, if ever a class movement should be started, it would be Schoolkids For A Positive Future.

And they could be plaintiffs in a $100 billion class action lawsuit against the UN, IPCC, academia, politicians, and all the other child abusers over climate doomsday.

This was one sick, sad, delusional human being. As is his ‘Zen Buddhist priest.’ But then again, they are (were” from Boulder…

The man was indoctrinated and obviously unstable. His name will not be known to many and will be forgotten by many more in a very short time. He accomplished nothing good by his act of “deeply fearless act of compassion to bring attention to climate crisis”.

I hope that Michael Mann and Greta and all the academics, politicians, and press that have been declaring this false “crisis” are proud. Are you proud Griff?

All above mentioned could not care less, else they would not be spreading lies.
What I fear is that there are so many deluded youngsters with life in front of them, who believe in this sort of cr@p and now may think that this is only way out of the non-existing climate change catastrophe.

Yes, it’s quite rational to prefer 1200 degrees to .01 degrees warming.

The Climate Doomsters say the world is going to end in eight years if we don’t reduce CO2 levels.

CO2 levels will NOT be reduced in eight years. That is guaranteed.

The Youngsters should just wait around for eight more years and see if the Climate Alarmists are correct before taking actions that would harm themselves.

Maybe the Climate Alarmists are wrong. They have been wrong for the last 40 years. Don’t do anything rash, kids. You are being lied to by Climate alarmists.

The End of the World is NOT at hand. Not even close. Not from CO2 anyway.
