My question – if 97% of left leaning voters want climate action, are they waiting for right wing voters to pay for it?
The world is on fire and our leaders are failing, poll finds
Poll respondents voice frustration at being left to take on climate action on their own after governments and companies fail to act.

02/08/2022 10:31 AM ESTAdults across the United States and globally have damning opinions about the performance of their political leaders when it comes to climate change, and say they are noticing an escalation in extreme weather events and natural disasters.
A new POLITICO Morning Consult Global Sustainability Poll reveals frustration from citizens that they are being left to take on climate action on their own, when they believe governments and the companies with the most resources (which also tend to bear the most responsibility for carbon emissions) should shoulder the burden.

Surprisingly, climate may be the only issue where President Joe Biden is getting higher marks from the right than from the left. That’s not necessarily because Republican voters are concerned that Biden is doing enough, but because they’re satisfied that he is legislatively constrained.
Biden’s base, meanwhile, is furious. Though the administration has made climate action a centerpiece of its rhetoric, executive action and legislative agenda, 80 percent of Americans who labeled themselves left-leaning said that the Biden administration is doing too little to address climate change, including 64 percent of Democrats surveyed.
The United States is home to the largest ideological divide on climate action. Among Americans, 97 percent of left-leaning voters expressed concern about climate change, compared to 51 percent of right-leaning voters.

Politico is saying 97% of left leaning voters think climate change is a problem.
If I thought we were in the midst of an existential crisis, and I knew lots of people thought the same, I wouldn’t be sitting on my butt waiting for President Biden to take action, or waiting for absolutely everyone to agree there is a problem. I would be out there fundraising in Democrat and Green Party branch meetings, or anyone else who would listen, to gather the money needed, to build wind turbines and solar panels or whatever other infrastructure is required to solve the problem.
But for some reason this isn’t happening. Or if it is happening, the money being raised is not enough to make an impact.
Are left wing voters more concerned about ensuring everyone pays their fair share, than saving the world?
Or do they say they are worried about climate change, but don’t really mean it?
I’d love to know the answer. If you are a climate concerned left wing voter, please make an effort to explain what is preventing the vast number of left wing voters who think climate change is a pressing issue, from getting off their butts and sorting the problem out amongst themselves.
Because we’re talking about around half the country, if the Politico survey is any guide.
Surely that many people between them have enough resources and initiative to at least make a start, to lead everyone else by example.

The world is on fire in the same way that people like Justin Trudeau, Joe Biden and Al Gore are clever and useful, and in the same way that a rabid dog is cuddly.
” … and say they are noticing an escalation in extreme weather events and natural disasters.”
A mentally impoverished media that spouts nonsense will do that to the poorly educated.
you beat me to it
Quote:”97% of Left Leaning Voters Want Climate Action
No they don’t, they want money
and all of them are liars
Nah, I think it’s because he’s done nothjing to harm the environment due to failing mental faculties and general incomeptence. Aside from his (usually plagiarised) claims, can anyone name anything he has accomplished in almost 50 years on the public teat?
As for the 97% of the left waiting for the right to pay, that’s only logical because it’s the right that have the jobs and pay the taxes. And the left can’t use the taxes because they need that for boondoggles, pork barrels, bribery and backhanders to their masters.
So the lefty responders (and it’s politico so you KNOW they aren’t polling actual conservative, just those slightly to the right of the rabid mob) figure they can double-dip into conservative pockets and the virtue signallers will not have to pay anything to get their agenda.

MMmmmmmm 97%.
Did they just do a global word replace on Cook’s “work”???
> “say they are noticing an escalation in extreme weather events and natural disasters”
In reality, they are noticing an escalation in MSM alarmist reporting about extreme weather events and natural disasters
If you’re looking for communists behind every tree, you’ll find communists behind every tree.
A young African-American once told me that all whites are racist. You just have to keep digging till you find it.
Using the same information I take a different view. It is true that the vast majority on the left aren’t happy with our progress addressing catastrophic anthropogenic global warming. I agree with them we haven’t changed the average global temperature one little bit. But it is not for a lack of trying. I can’t even imagine how much money has been squandered chasing after a fraction of a degree cooler temperature. Add up the subsidies given to green companies, the tax relief to green companies, the tax relief to citizens, the regulations constraining fossil fuels and nuclear, the added cost for fossil fuel and nuclear to be on stand by for unreliable wind and solar and on and on. The clear result is less fossil fuel and nuclear, higher energy prices, higher prices in general and a whole lot of wasted money only to slide backwards. The position we are in now doesn’t prove we haven’t done enough, it shows that no matter how much more we spend or regulate, we can not accomplish their agenda. Not ever.
Great comment
There is an old saying about such people
‘All care and no responsibity’
Sorry, above should read all care and no responsibility .
Because left wing voters don’t take action on their own – they expect the government to do it. That’s the definition of being left wing.
Bingo!
Left wing voters are all about government regulation. The more the better. You will never find any of them arguing otherwise. Individual thinking and actions are not their cup of tea, which is why they always talk about “consensus”, “community” and “democracy”. Each and every one of these ideas requires identical thinking.
And they truly believe that more government programs whose workers place checkmarks on agenda items decided in management meetings will bring utopia. This time. For sure.
I am of course not a left wing voter, despite the peculiar ideas of some people on what left and right are…
but climate science isn’t a left of right issue – it is one of national importance and needs involvement of the whole community to ameliorate and reduce its effects.
Griff should go back to the future:
(An) article in the Maitland Mercury explained that ‘great changes have taken place in the climate of Australia’, citing ‘heavy rains’ and ‘deluging floods’ and noted, “The aborigines say that the climate has undergone this change since the white man came in the country”. The article was dated 11 March 1846.
“A considerable change of climate, inexplicable at present to us, must have taken place in the polar regions ….the Greenland Seas…have hitherto covered (in ice), have in the last two years entirely disappeared.” That was the President of the Royal Society – in 1817.
The Brisbane Courier of 10 January 1871: “Every season is sure to be ‘extraordinary’ almost every month one of the driest, or windiest, coldest or hottest ever known …THREE consecutive years of drought…Others speculating quite as conjecturally and even more absurdly, seem to attribute the impending change of climate – of which they assume the reality – to the operation of men.”
(All taken from ‘The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change’ by Marc Morano.)
“climate science isn’t a left of right issue – it is one of national importance and needs involvement of the whole community to ameliorate and reduce its effects.”
Fair enough. All you need to do now is show us what effects?
You can say that again; the whole community needs to call out climate science for the massive scam that it is. Mikey Mann needs the community to expose him for the charlatan he is.
I am in the community and I don’t give a rats about climate change there are thousands of other things I would rate ahead of it. So where do you want to go from there scold me, tell me I an selfish or that I am stealing your childrens future?
Unless you can get over 50% voter support I really don’t care what you think it’s just noise.
Why is it that the vast majority of leftists will insist till the day they die that they are actually moderates?
Regardless, since there have been no effects yet, why should we do anything to ameliorate them?
97% of leftists believe people other than themselves should pay to save the world.
The left believes the rich should pay for everything.
The left defines rich, as being anyone who has more than they do.
The best way to confront climate change is to adapt to it. Our family adapted by moving to a warmer climate.
Are the 97% those who are freezing their balls off in the Northern Hemisphere at present?
I am sure they would prefer it to be a bit warmer??
I certainly would. My heating bills are killing me. Thanks Brandon.
You can always tell a push-poll. But you can’t tell it much.
For starters, the basic assumption of the poll, that “action must be taken on climate change” is completely bogus. Alarmunists need to have popular support for their ideology. And viola (cellists need not apply), the poll “found” what the pollsters wanted.
Yes, and I want the inflation to target them as opposed to sharing the pain.
I thought the answer to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything was 42, but apparently it is always 97?
Want action? There has been a massive amount of action. None of it good. So, now “it’s time we do ‘something'”? Stop letting them imply that nothing has been done. Plenty has. Enough to demonstrate that it won’t work.
” 97% of Left Leaning Voters Want Climate Action ”
“Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel
As the images unwind, like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind!”
(lan and Marilyn Bergman, 1968)
No warming for 7 years, so hardly a crisis. I think I can wait to take action.
When I believed in Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Change, I rode a bicycle year-round. I biked through the bitter, freezing cold and under the hot, blazing sun. I will hold alarmists to the same standard.
At least 97% of progressives are neurotic frauds.
