Mainstream media is infamous for its exaggeration of everyday events. When it comes to the issue of climate change, it rarely misses an opportunity to promote fear. True to form, during the ongoing COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, media promoted incorrect information spewed by politicians and famous personalities.
Special attention was drawn to the assertion that rising sea levels are threatening island nations by none other than Barack Obama, who incongruously has purchased a multi-million-dollar ocean front property on the New England coast.
Catching the attention of millions was the image of a Tuvalu minister standing in knee-high sea water. But there is a problem with this: Most islands in the South Pacific nation of Tuvalu have gained surface area and are in no danger of being inundated.
Despite sea-level rise that has been underway since the end of the last ice age, Tuvalu’s land area has increased recently by 2.9 percent. A peer-reviewed research paper which studied four decades of shoreline change in all 101 islands in theTuvalu atolls categorically proves this. The paper notes that “…change is analyzed over the past four decades, a period when local sea level has risen at twice the global average (~3.90 ± 0.4 mm.yr−1). Results highlight a net increase in land area in Tuvalu of 73.5 hectares (2.9%) despite sea-level rise and land area increase in eight of nine atolls.”
The case of Tuvalu is not unique. Various island nations have gained landmass in recent decades, including Maldives which increased by 37 square kilometers since 2000.
The climate doomsday machine has been using this image-based propaganda for a while now. National Geographic circulated an image of a starving polar bear and falsely claimed that the bear’s condition was a direct result of man-made climate change. However, polar bear populations are relatively healthy and have increased in recent decades. When exposed, the famous media channel issued a statement saying that the reason for the dismal condition of the bear is unknown and that it had exaggerated the climate impact.
At COP26, Bill Gates joined climate elites who resorted to a false representation of reality to promote climate fear. “Farmers in low-income countries are at high risk from the impacts of climate change,” said Gates. But a closer look at weather data and the state of global agriculture reveals a different picture.
The United Nations makes clear that there is no strong evidence that climate change is having a significant influence on the frequency of extreme weather events. IPCC AR5 WGI Chapter 2 states, “In summary, there continues to be a lack of evidence and thus low confidence regarding the sign of trend in the magnitude and/or frequency of floods on a global scale.” When it comes to droughts, the report states that “… there is not enough evidence at present to suggest more than low confidence in a global-scale observed trend in drought or dryness (lack of rainfall) since the middle of the 20th century.”
Consider India, a country with world’s largest number of low-income farmers. More than 500 million people depend either on agriculture or allied products. Of that total, 150 million depend only on agriculture — the equivalent of 40 percent of the U.S. population.
These farmers — with an average monthly income of less of $120 — depend on monsoon rainfall and there has been no climate signature on the monsoon rainfall trend. Nor has there been any increase in cyclones. In other words, there has not been any increased risk from climate change for India’s farmers. Another indicator of the absence of heightened risk is crop production. For four consecutive years, India has produced record food crops, higher than ever before in its history.
You would think that Gates would know something about agriculture and climate given that he owns 242,000 acres of U.S.farmland and said to be the largest private owner of such acreage. However, it appears that the billionaire is at best ill-informed.
Though fancying themselves to be noble defenders of nature, these purveyors of doomsday scenarios are more akin to a cult’s priesthood offering commoners salvation in exchange for prosperity and freedom.

It has always been about the money. I’m completely amazed by the people arguing the finer points of the “science”, when science hasn’t the least connection to this pantomime, except as window dressing. Of course people like Gates worked it out early on. It’s the same with the plandemic. They tucked right in up to their trotters and have been feeding on pork from the start.
Years ago on this very forum there were opinion differences between “it’s all about science” and “it’s all about politics”. I miss those that used to regularly post their science facts and opinions but that conversation is dead. You can only see so many facts disregarded to understand political opinion is in control of AGW.

Not money, wold domination for Communism. The Theory of Warming is based upon the proliferation of CO2 produced by our use of fossil fuels. To control the use of fossil fuels is to control all use of energy which means controlling all production (Communism by back door) and all aspects of human life. Government would control what, how much and where production would be allowed. That will control if and where you can have businesses, jobs, homes and what products you can purchase. It will also control whether you can have an automobile and how it can be used and what amount of electricity you can use in your home, if you have a home. Question immigrants from the Soviet Union to discover how that works for the citizens.
It is true that socialists are increasingly taking advantage of government incompetence. They have always been waiting at the back door, looking for every opportunity to make gains … especially, education and social services. This is especially true where big issues open the door to fraudulent skimming of government largess. Things like “global cooling”, AIDS, AGW, second hand smoke, “climate change”, climate “exuberance” and of course … Wuhan virus. Whenever vast amounts of money is transferred from the public purse, the door to fraud is wide open. The socialists are always among the 1st in line.

Like all big storms in the hours before they arrive, it seems eerily clam as the winds start to stir. The winds of a coming pan-genocide famine are now starting to blow as global energy prices are rising. While we focus and complain on the rising cost of electricity here in the US, Europe and the UK, these energy price spikes are very much non-linear, akin to price moves on leveraged financial assets, in the 3rd World where food and energy price shocks are most felt.

There has to be some kind of mental illness going on here. How can so many people be so unaware of the consequences of what they are demanding? Some of the effects showing up now in the gasoline prices, the US is starting to get quite close to what we are paying in Europe. The same for heating oil and natural gas. As supply lines continue to be disrupted, sooner or later people have to grasp that this really has nothing to do with the fauxdemic.
This is what happens when radical Democrats are in control. They are very bad for the United States, as is obvious to just about everyone, since Biden took over.
The polls are looking very bad, not just for Biden and Harris, but for the entire Democrat Party. If we keep going this way, the Democrats are going to be swept from office in a very big way in 2022.

Their other objective is keeping power via control of the vote counting. They are within a hair’s breadth of achieving that objective. 2020 was the test run. It worked out great. But the Dems still have some tweaking to do, as shown by Virginia and one pesky NJ trucker.
The non-brainwashed in the U.S. must work hard to make sure the Dems don’t fully achieve that second objective. Otherwise, there’s no chance they’ll be swept from office in 2022 or ever, for that matter.

There is no mental illness going around, except maybe evil hidden purposes. The UN has been a “strictly” political organization from inception. It was never organized around some higher pupose other than money and political power. It’s been very patient.working its political schemes since it was founded 1945.
Around 1968-1970 they bought into the climate change game, driven mainly by a Canadian oil baron named Maurice Strong. It’s been down hill for the rest of us since. It’s all on the main UN websites and other UN program websites. Black and white- the only thing considered is “man-made” climate change. The only approach is the wealthier countries have to make financial amend with the poorer countries. A nearly guaranteed way to put together an empire of serfs, similar to the European Union.
The great hoax of COP26 is the bed wetters failure to address the fact global warming is not settled science. The UN is Janus when convenient. It projects an image of environmental concern in their condensed information for managers/politicians/environmentalists and one of “everything is normal/OK” in the body of the report. That way they can point to either to sooth everyone.

There are those who claim that this is not true, but the IPCC clearly state that politicians examine, discuss, and have a power of veto over every single line in the summary. Who is going to challenge the very people on whom they depend for large slices of taxpayers’ money?
Because of the SPM almost no one reads the scientific report. They only bother with the scientific report so that they have something to point to and claim they are doing the work!

From the beginning the trick has been to create as much ambiguity as possible, then count on the dishonesty of the media to spread the disinformation. The term “climate change” has no real meaning because those in charge of feeding the frenzy resist publishing a definitive description of what “climate change” means. It’s the same as how “consensus” is treated. You get to make up your own interpretation depending the angle you want. The entire issue is intentionally equivocal.

I think what we have here is a Criminal Enterprise consisting of Michael Mann and the Hockey Stick Team and the UN bureaucracy colluding to defraud the people of the world by making the false claim that we are currently living in the hottest time in the last couple of thousand years because of human-derived CO2 and they present a bogus, bastardized Hockey Stick chart as their evidence. The climate change propaganda is highly organized now. Dozens of news organizations and other media have signed up to promote climate change propaganda. It’s an Echo Chamber with many voices talking, all promoting a specific narrative.

The COPs are just an excuse for these bozos to get together and pat each other on the back about how much better they are up there on the clouds, while the rest of us are down here rolling around in the mud, cultivating food crops and building stuff and making things work. They need to be kept all in one place so that they can go on patting each other on the back.
Really, no one needs them. WE can get along just fine without them. Perhaps an island in the south Pacific that hasn’t been settled just yet would work. Drop off supplies once a month, that sort of thing. They don’t know how to do anything but vacuum up tax money that can be put to a better use than ridiculous exhibitions of flatulent egos like the COPs. They can’t even do their own laundry or cook a meal, for Pete’s sake, so what makes them “better” than the rest of us? Not5hing.

The creeping destitution of more farmers around the world is not caused by global warming, but by increasing costs of energy and the increasing cost of fertilizer and it’s availability, now being impacted by increased use of Natural Gas for other purposes.
Once again, ideology trumps actual data.
