Michael Mann, I get that standing back and watching Greta on the world stage has the simple charm of watching a young kitten stumble around knocking everything over. But its not really fair to attack us for pointing out that Greta should have followed your example, and reduced her transatlantic carbon footprint by purchasing an airline ticket.

You know, the TV crews that flew in to see her off, then flew across the Atlantic to greet her, followed her around the US and flew back across the pond to greet her again? Did micky dripp figure that into his inane rantings?
I read somewhere that her plastic boat was equipped with backup engines, diesel if I remember correctly.

It is intellectually lazy for Mann to make this charge. I could understand a situation if a teenager made a cute video about some animal, misused a word and people poked fun at her faux pas, but that’s not remotely the situation. Greta, and her handlers deigned to tell the world they are wrong and should change their lives. Even if you are right, by doing so she’s stepped onto the stage with adults, and if she cannot be criticized, she should not speak. That’s without even considering the fact that her position is fundamentally flawed and intellectually bankrupt.
The crossing of the Atlantic was a stunt. A very clever PR stunt that could be applauded if it wasn’t for the fact that it generated far more CO2 than the alternative which makes it more hypocritical than effective. Mann knows this (if he doesn’t, he needs to step off the adult stage) so should know better.
I can’t be angry with Greta, she’s too young. But, if you are over 49 years old and still profess to believe the pablum she spews, then you are either an opportunist or an ignoramus or both.
Hey, Michael Mann, I’m assuming that you are still ensconced somewhere near Penn State, still doing your climate (mis)information thing at that university, so I have one simple question for you, particularly for this week . . . do you remember what snow is?

All that Greta has been doing is saying and doing as her handlers direct. Before she continues this charade she needs to complete her education and think things out for herself. It seem to me that, for her, science is :general science, a collection of “facts” that she has to memorize to pass tests. It takes a lot more education to be able to figure things out for ones self and to understand that the reality is that, based on the paleoclimate record and the work done with models, the climate change we have been experiencing is caused by the sun and the oceans over which mankind has no control. She has to realize that, despite the hype, there is no real evidence that CO2 has any effect on climate and that there is plenty of scientific rationale to support the conclusion that the climate of CO2 is zero.

No evidence at all – unless someone can point me to a quanitfied co2 signal in the temperature data. Seems the last 40 odd years of speculation about the effects of co2 is completely conceptual. Hey Mikey? What say you??
I don’t see a problem here. In fact, it seems that for the first time Little Mikey Mann looked at evidence in the real world before coming to a conclusion. He actually seems to have observed at least one sentence in the article.

Why is Thunberg using a picture of a solar 22 degree halo and a pair of sun dogs as a background? The phenomena is caused by ice crystals. Surely such things are in the past, like snow?

The first time I saw her on TV, I didn’t know who she was, but I was just shocked at her maniacal behavior. I thought, “what the hell is wrong with this kid?”
