h/t CFACT – in the wake of harsh accusations of greedy corporate collaboration in “Planet of the Humans“, the Sierra club appears to be attempting to reinvent itself as a racial justice movement.
Racism Is Killing the Planet
The ideology of white supremacy leads the way toward disposable people and a disposable natural world
BY HOP HOPKINS | JUN 8 2020
…
During the street protests and marches of the past two weeks, many people carried signs that read “Racism Is Killing Us.” It’s no exaggeration to say that racism and white supremacy harm all of us, because in addition to robbing us of our humanity, racism is also killing the planet we all share.
An idea—a long-overdue realization—is growing in the environmental movement. It goes something like this: “We’ll never stop climate change without ending white supremacy.” This argument has entered the outdoor recreation and conservation space thanks to the leadership of Black, Indigenous, and other people of color in the climate justice movement. The idea has taken on new force as folks in the mainstream environmental movement do our best to show up for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and all the Black people still living and subject to police violence.
I know that a lot of people are struggling with the thought that addressing the environmental crises must involve dismantling white supremacy. At Sierra Club meetings, some people hear me say something like that and think, “Damn, fighting climate change wasn’t hard enough already? Now we have to end racism and white supremacy too? Seriously, man?”
I get that feeling of being overwhelmed. It’s a lot to carry. It’s a lot to hold. We all have enough to do without feeling like we’re taking on even more.
But I want to share another lens from which we can view this moment. I really believe in my heart of hearts—after a lifetime of thinking and talking about these issues—that we will never survive the climate crisis without ending white supremacy.
Here’s why: You can’t have climate change without sacrifice zones, and you can’t have sacrifice zones without disposable people, and you can’t have disposable people without racism.

Do not underestimate the author, Sierra Club Strategic Partnership Director Hop Hopkins.
Most greens are not very self aware. They usually leave a juicy picture somewhere of themselves doing something stupid or wildly hypocritical, like protesting against fossil fuel while wearing a petroleum plastic jacket.
Hop is different. He is not someone who overlooks small details.

The Sierra Club has been an all-white, arguably racist organization since its founding. John Muir set the tone by denigrating Native Americans in his many journals.
Muir’s vision, and that of the Sierra Club, is that America was once a pristine wilderness unspoiled by humankind. Restoration of the untouched, virgin wilderness has long been their goal.
What Muir and the Sierra Club have failed to realize is that for the last 12,000+ years this continent has been home to humans who altered, manipulated, tended, and used the landscapes. Historical human impact on the environment has been extensive, significant, and perpetual.
Their vision is rooted in Victorian puritanism that has always been intrinsically and fundamentally racist. If any group has championed “white supremacy” it is the Sierra Club.
As recently as 2016 their leadership and membership have been nearly 100% white. It was then that they instituted a “diversity” program for appearance’s sake. It is a fraud and facade; they haven’t changed.
This latest attempt to jump on the diversity bandwagon is also fake and extreme pandering. Their racist roots make them typical Leftists, and the Neo-Anarchy wing has no affection or allegiance to the Sierra Club or any other so-called environmental organization.
Climate alarmists like the Sierra Club are racist. Their treatment of 3rd world nations as children is abusive. They make much of victimhood while victimizing indigenous people on all continents. They ruthlessly “save” land and animals from people who have lived in harmony with the land and animals since time immemorial, robbing their birthrights, liberties, economies, and very lives.
False flag waving, cynical posturing, and me-to-ism, are desperate attempts to gain traction with the Movement of the Moment. The Sierra Club is being rejected by their radical comrades and purged. Good riddance.
“me-too-ism”. I’d coin the word if I could spell it.

Correct! Here is the evidence of all that “altered, manipulated, tended, and used”. I ran into surprising evidence of this when I looked into the YDIH (younger dryas impact hypothesis)

Who’s the real racists?
I would say it’s the people who believe that minorities are helpless and can’t do anything to improve their lives unless they are being led by white liberals.
Markl: Everyone.
Sorry, I don’t give a f**k about skin color, its the f**ked up sh*t in their heads I have a problem with.
Climate change was never about climate, these protests are not about them caring about a bad man being killed by a bad cop.
Simple, Marxism, that’s what these people think, and they truly believe they have the right to tell me how to live. Angry doesn’t come close to how I feel about the evil these groups are trying to enforce on us.
You know, after near 60 years I have never met a white Man.
The only white men I have every seen on TV/pictures were painted Australian Natives .
So who cares about these weirdos who see white men everywhere. ?
I am in the pink.
Sierra Club are so toxic, even polar bears will not eat them.
One tried a few years ago, spat it out and left.
I would regard all these fools who are attempting to claim relevancy,as best described by this age old verse;
“Fools names and fools faces are always found in public places”.
There is an order of magnitude more white people apologizing for white supremacists than there are white supremacists.
You’re right, David. I researched white supremacy awhile back. I found a Florida law enforcement group that tracked white supremacy elements in the US.
They estimated that there were about 25,000 hard-core white supremacists and about 200,000 people who contributed money.
Nation of Islam has about 50,000 members. They are quintessential black supremacists. So twice as many black supremacists in the US as white.
They’re all fringe-group nutcases. But the white ones are the prop of choice for the Progressives who want to ‘remake America.’ Remake it into a tyranny imposed by a blood bath.
If it comes to that, and Antifa is their army, that part of the conflict won’t last long.
But until we win back our Institutions (Press, Academia, Science, Social Media, Entertainment, Sports, Law, Government, Commerce, Finance, and even Religion… the battle will go on.
“If it comes to that, and Antifa is their army, that part of the conflict won’t last long.”
Yes, I think Antifa has a false sense of security. They’ve been getting away with a lot of mayhem, but it won’t last forever.
And I think Attorney Gerneral Barr may be zeroing in on these people. They should probably go find themselves a good lawyer.
These idiots are using cellphones and other electronic devices to run their operations, all of which are totally compromised and insecure. Their images are already being used to locate them, and they stupidly keep posting them online.

Well put, Pat
White Supremacy Ideology is a fringe movement that no mainstream conservative buys into. About the only White Supremacist I can name is David Duke. I bet that is the case with most white people.
White Supremacy has no large following in the United States. And since that is the actual case, the Radical Left wants to claim that *all* white people are inherently White Supremacists. That way they can make the Black Community feel like they are really under seige from the entire population of white people. That’s the kind of fear they want to impose on the Black community in order to control them.
There is much more to the planet than the USA, where I live there is very little signs of racism and no climate emergency, these people should get out more and seethe planet.
Is the planet seething with rage or heat?
Other than the black supremacists, there is little sign of racism in the US.
Virtue signalling really lacks originality lately.
Even buying whole heartedly into the theory that we are facing a climatic catastrophy and that white supremacy is running rampant, the allegation doesn’t make sense.
CO2 emissions of predominantly white nations are slowly falling. Nations with the fastest rising CO2 emissions are China, India, and Iran.
It’s like Hopkins took two trendy activist topics and just slammed them together without any regard for the fit.
“It’s like Hopkins took two trendy activist topics and just slammed them together without any regard for the fit.”
That’s exactly what he is doing. That’s what all the others pushing this sham correlation are doing, too.
Didn’t see that coming at all
3 Jun: World Economic Forum: The Great Reset: A Unique Twin Summit to Begin 2021
by Adrian Monck, Public Engagement
•“The Great Reset” will be the theme of a unique twin summit in January 2021, convened by the World Economic Forum.
•It requires a new social contract centred on human dignity, social justice and where societal progress does not fall behind economic development.
•The global health crisis has laid bare longstanding ruptures in our economies and societies, and created a social crisis that urgently requires decent, meaningful jobs…
•The twin summit will be both in-person and virtual, connecting key global governmental and business leaders in Davos with a global multistakeholder network in 400 cities around the world for a forward-oriented dialogue driven by the younger generation.
•The announcement of the Great Reset is made by HRH The Prince of Wales and Klaus Schwab during a virtual meeting today at 14:30 Central European Summer Time and can be followed here…
“We only have one planet and we know that climate change could be the next global disaster with even more dramatic consequences for humankind. We have to decarbonize the economy in the short window still remaining and bring our thinking and behaviour once more into harmony with nature,” said Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum…
“Now is the historical moment to shape the system for the post-corona era,” says Klaus Schwab in his opening remarks…
“The Great Reset is a welcome recognition that this human tragedy must be a wake-up call. We must build more equal, inclusive and sustainable economies and societies that are more resilient in the face of pandemics, climate change and the many other global changes we face,” said António Guterres, Secretary-General, United Nations, New York…
“A Great Reset is necessary to build a new social contract that honours the dignity of every human being,” added Schwab “The global health crisis has laid bare the unsustainability of our old system in terms of social cohesion, the lack of equal opportunities and inclusiveness. Nor can we turn our backs on the evils of racism and discrimination. We need to build into this new social contract our intergenerational responsibility to ensure that we live up to the expectations of young people.”
“COVID-19 has accelerated our transition into the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”…
To do so, the World Economic Forum will draw on thousands of young people in more than 400 cities around the world (the Global Shapers Community) who will be interconnected with a powerful virtual hub network to interact with the leaders in Davos…
The announcement of the Great Reset was made by HRH The Prince of Wales and Professor Schwab during a virtual meeting, followed by statements by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
Their statements were supported by voices from all stakeholder groups of global society, including…
Ajay S. Banga, Chief Executive Officer, Mastercard, USA; Ma Jun, Chairman, Green Finance Committee, China Society for Finance and Banking, and a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People’s Bank of China; Bradford L. Smith, President, Microsoft, USA; Nick Stern, Chair, Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, United Kingdom ETC ETC…

1 Apr: Inside Climate News: COP’s Postponement Until 2021 Gives World Leaders Time to Respond to U.S. Election
The annual United Nations climate meeting in Glasgow had been scheduled for six days after the presidential contest in early November
By Georgina Gustin
President Donald Trump announced shortly after taking office that he would withdraw the United States from the Paris agreement, but under the agreement, the earliest possible withdrawal date is Nov. 4, four years after the agreement took effect in the United States—and a day after the upcoming presidential election.
The meeting in Glasgow had been scheduled for six days after the election. That would have given leaders little time to respond to either another Trump administration—and the full withdrawal of the United States from the pact—or a new, incoming Democratic administration, which, under the agreement’s rules, could restore and revamp U.S. commitments as soon as February 2021…
“With this scenario at least you have clarity on who the president is well before the meeting,” Meyer said. “And in a Trump scenario, they would have more than six days to think through the implications of four more years of Trump and figure out their response. It provides a little more breathing space.”
If Trump is reelected, China and the European Union, the first and third-largest greenhouse gas emitters, could make a joint commitment under the agreement…

Updated 29 May: Carbon Pulse: UN accepts UK proposal to host COP26 in Nov. 2021
By Matt Lithgow
Governments have agreed to move the COP26 UN climate summit to Nov. 2021 as environmental groups urged the UK hosts and other nations to use the extra time to enhance their climate action plans and to ‘green’ their post-coronavirus recovery efforts.
The decision taken by the UNFCCC’s COP Bureau, Italian ‘pre-COP’ hosts, and the British government at a virtual meeting late Thursday will see the Glasgow conference take place over Nov. 1-12, almost a full year later than the original dates that were pushed back last month.
“With Italy, we can harness the G7 and G20 presidencies to drive climate action and support a clean resilient recovery,” the UK’s COP26 envoy John Murton tweeted, alluding to the fact that the two nations will also host those major conferences among the world’s economic powerhouses next year…
The original timing of the conference this November was billed as a critical point for countries to ramp up their GHG reduction commitments ahead of the Paris Agreement’s 2021 start.
So far, only 10 countries representing 2.9% of global emissions have submitted updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in line with the climate pact’s five-year cycles, according to the think-tank WRI’s Climate Watch platform.
The postponement also means nations will have to endure more delays in agreeing international emissions trading rules under the treaty’s market-based Article 6.
After two straight years of failing to do so at the Katowice and Madrid COPs, experts have viewed the Glasgow summit as the “last chance” to forge an agreement on Paris-era carbon trading…
“By the time we get to COP26, we expect to see governments, tested by the pandemic, guided by the science and prepared to act unequivocally and with unity to end the climate emergency by bringing an end to the age of fossil fuels,” Greenpeace Executive Director Jennifer Morgan said in a statement…
The conference will also now take place a full year after the US presidential election this November, with the country likely to rejoin the Paris Agreement if a Democratic candidate can beat President Donald Trump…

The ideology of white supremacy leads the way toward disposable people and a disposable natural world
Planned Parenthood: life deemed unworthy of life or cannibalized for profitable parts?
Diversity: color judgment including racism, sexism, classicism, etc.?
Political congruence (“=”): selective exclusion of sociopolitically unprofitable constructs?
Social justice: relativistic?
Faith is a logical domain. Religion is a behavioral protocol. Ideology is a realization of the former. Whether God, gods, or mortal gods, they are inclusive.
Libertarianism is emergent. Liberalism is divergent. Progressivism is monotonic. Conservativism is moderating. #PrinciplesMatter
Hello Clyde. The source for the story that Chauvin and Floyd knew and disliked each other is CBS news. They’ve got a named source who appears on camera. This could be awkward if it is true because, as you say, Chauvin’s motive for killing Floyd would be personal animus rather than the much more politically incendiary racism.
In my experience, the established media are very reluctant to say, oops, we got the story wrong, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. My guess: it will be buried. The media have told a story about race-based police brutality, and this has spawned a movement, not only in the United States, but in Canada and Europe. If the story is acknowledged to have been wrong, a lot of people are going to look foolish. People don’t like looking foolish.
Ian
Nobody likes losing face. However, it is particularly embarrassing for those are trying to unjustifiably claim the moral high ground.
The media hasn’t made the case that Chauvin has a history of racially-motivated antagonism. Yet, they are telling everyone that this is obviously racism. I’m sure that the defense attorney will press the prosecution for evidence.
I’ll tell you a secret: there is already a chinese supremacy.
It’s always ‘dismantling’ stuff with this lot, never building. They have no plan after destruction.
The Sierra Club had a seminal moment in the 90’s. They had been against illegal immigration and mass immigration for the obvious effects on the environment, consumerism, people coming from low Co2 footprint life and plugged into a higher Co2 output. California at its core is anti over-development. We were close to being at max load in mid 25millions in population. But someone got to them and all that went out the window. Now itś open borders come one come all lets eat the last tuna for sushi de-face our deserts with wind turbines and solar arrays. Sad
I don’t know a single white supremacist. And I don’t know of any significant problems caused by any (may have…but what/where).
On the other hand I know lots of Marxists…and know lots of people who know Marxists. They are all troublemakers. They are always trying to make other people behave differently (won’t leave anyone alone, and they shout down people who oppose them.
And I have heard of problems stemming from other Marxist group activities…they were responsible for 100 million political murders…and counting.
It’s amazing how climate activists manage to link themselves to every single issue generating media coverage. Look at any photo of a climate match, the lack of diversity is astonishing.
If “white supremacy” were actually brought to an end and wiped out of existence, what would the excuse be for not succeeding then?
But ‘white supremacy’ will not be eradicated; it will be replaced with something else. Remember old fashioned ‘racism’? When it appeared it had been solved radical activists invented ‘institutional racism’. The rule of thumb radical activists apply is to change definitions at will when existing issues are failing the cause. Remember, for radicals there can be no solution to a problem; they do not seek solutions as a solution removes a weapon from the cause. George Orwell in Wigan Pier, explained how the English left had no love for those whom they claimed to speak (the poor), indeed they had only contempt for the poor, they simply hated the rich more. Plus ca change…
I want to know where all these supposed “white supremacists” are. I’ve been white in the USA for 6 decades now. I’ve known a lot of caucasians. But I’ve never (to my knowledge) met a white supremacist. I’ve seen a fair number of black supremacists on TV, though.
The Sierra club author of this demonisation of “white” people needs to remember a basic of human nature.
If you are full of hate, you see things to hate everywhere. If you harbour love there are things to love, you see love everywhere.
It is sad to think, a supposedly intelligent human being of what ever colour ( which is incidental to most of us) should conflate or generalise in the way he does. He talks about selective negative things, in selective areas, then proceeds to include all those who share a skin tone with the misconduct providers are guilty of the crime of those few committing the crime.
If the world took his logic to heart and viewed all Muslims as violent terrorists, simply because some of those believers are violent terrorists, the push back by the MSM would be absolute and rightly so.
If we are using his collective guilt principle? What stops the world saying there are black drug dealers, therefore all black people are drug dealers?
The basic stupidity of the approach taken by Hop Hopkins is so juvenile, you have to question his level of intelligence overall.
Perhaps what we are seeing, is the the Marxist long march through the institutions, now includes such talking shops as the Sierra Club.
What a sad individual Hopkins must be?
White supremacy was brought to end with defeat the National Socialist German Workers’ Party by US forces and the Allied forces- around 1945.
Maybe, this white supremacy refers to Communist Party of China- which does leads the world in CO2 emission.
And the CCP are bunch of racists and also suffering from wild delusions of grandeur- as did the NAZIS.
Presently Germans {living in their frozen wastelands] are largely fanatical believers of climate change religion.
And maybe when CCP has been ended, there will be a billion fanatical believers of climate change.
Literally, ending climate change is silly.
We are living in an Ice Age which has two major climate changes events of what are called the glacial and interglacial periods.
But religious cults seem tend to imagine that if they get enough of the faithful, then something similar “the end” occurs.
Calling people fascists or white supremacists is a dangerous game. You might get what you propose. People get fed-up being called names and will think that, perhaps, it would not be such a bad idea to behave like fascists, or that it could be time to exercise that ubiquitous white supremacy. Be careful what you accuse people of.
“Calling people fascists or white supremacists is a dangerous game.”
A very dangerous game.
It is very destructive to our national unity. Radical Democrat racial rhetoric harms the nation and the Black Community.
I think he’s on to something. My reading of his thought processes is something like this: Gee, I’ve seen the way this meme of racism/white privilege thing has mobilised people even more than the XR protests. Not only that but I’ve even witnessed the nations leaders roll over in supplication. I’ve seen CEO’s falling all over each other to endorse BLM while the media cheer them on. Even better, nobody dare criticise the violence; even the mildest criticism is crushed. This is incredible. If we the environmental movement can make climate change a race issue, nobody will dare oppose us. Comrades, we will have undreamt of power. Hahaha…hahahahah.
More and more, any criticism of BLM is a career ender.
I’m wondering how long until the first “re-education” camps are created.
“We’ll never stop climate change without ending white supremacy”
Why stop at white supremacy? I am sure that they would like to close down Capitalism and Democracy as well….
“White supremacy” the new bogeyman. The big lie : that Blacks should fear death by White cops, which happens a few times a year and certainly is not always a matter of racism. So far, the latest victim, George, may or may not have been killed due to any racism. The facts are clear : tens of thousands of (mostly innocent)
Blacks in the city ghettoes are murdered every year, often for their Michael Jordan tennis shoes, or jackets.
By far the most likely death will come at the hands of another Black. These Black lives don’t seem to matter to BLM, which only pays attention to White killings of Blacks. Just because a WHite kills a Black does NOT mean that racism had anytyhing to do with it. If White police transgressions against Black suspects (usually criminals) were very frequent, we would hear all about it from BLM. By claiming that Black’s biggest threat comes from Whites, especiially policemen, BLMis showing itself to be guilty of enormous anti-White racism.
So far in all this, that is the only signiificant racism,, and rioters/looters, arsonists are the only significant danger to the public
