Medium author Matt Orfalea has written a piece published June 1st that shows a revealing look into the Josh Fox’s campaign to get Planet of the Humans removed from YouTube.
In a now deleted tweet, the copyright claimant responsible for the takedown, Toby Smith, called the movie a “baseless, shite doc built on bull-shit”. Smith later admitted he filed the copyright claim because he doesn’t agree with the film’s message.
On April 22nd, Fox sent emails to colleagues and public relations professionals describing the film and demanding it’s removal from various platforms.

It is absolutely disgustingly horrible. Beyond it being terribly made, amateurish and inept. It has absolutely no factual basis. It encourages the most baseless kind of thinking. It also goes after heroes in our movement in gotcha type interviews for no absolutely reason.
It is TERRIBLE reporting. Cherry picking, ignorant. It is not only untrue, not factual in any way it is incredibly deceptive.
I cannot stress this enough. This film is as untruthful and deceitful as anything Donald Trump EVER did.
It must come down off of your pages immediately.
Please call me ASAP. This is terribly upsetting. I don’t care what time of day or night it is, this abhorrent piece of misinformation must be rejected and disavowed immediately.

I have bad news. There is a new MICHAEL MOORE produced film which just came out online which is an affront to all of our work.
The movie is a badly-made, unfactual smear peace that attacks the basic mainstays of environmentalism.
The film attacks renewable energy and climate leaders who promote renewable energy development in very unfair ways.
It is an unscientific, unwatchable sensationalistic piece of yellow journalism. Michael was just on Stephen Colbert promoting it. I think Michael Moore must have totally lost his mind to promote this.
It is called PLANET OF THE HUMANS and Moore has propped up a spiffy website to promote it.
The film needs to be roundly condemned. It is dangerous, and unfactual.
Please take a look, see what I mean and get in touch with me ASAP. A number of reputable websites are hosting this abomination and I need your support in getting them to take it down. See below.

“Planet of the Humans” discusses the issue of ever increasing population growth. However, there is absolutely no mention or suggestion of population control in the film. Instead, the film’s solution is to reduce consumption, not population. Nevertheless, Fox accuses the movie’s “old white guy” filmmakers of pushing “eco-fascism”.

The BBC has been giving a lot of space and time to the fact that no electricity has been produced using coal for two months. Also trumpeted was the falling cost of renewable wind energy, not yet reflected in domestic bills, and wood burning Drax also featured including the 7 million tons of American wood which is virtually carbon neutral apparently. No mention of low demand because of a 12 week lockdown and unusually warm spring. Typical BBC.

Forgive my ignorance, but who the heck is this character Josh Fox? Is he in any way significant? What has he ever done of significance ?
Seriously, who is he?
In the current context, what Josh Fox did which was ‘of significance’ was to produce an anti-fracking documentary called ‘Gasland’. It merits all of the barbs which Josh Fox himself has thrown at ‘Planet of the Humans’. The main claim of this documentary was that fracking polluted the water supply. Suitable citizens were wheeled out to substantiate this claim, complaining about sickness acquired from drinking their own water. In fact, there was so much methane in the water supply that they were able to set fire to their tap (faucet in US).
This film was demolished by Phelim McAleer and Anne McElhinney, two Irish investigative journalists, who produced the documentary ‘FrackNation’. They went back to the complaining family with government officials to take samples of their water to have it analysed. The family didn’t want samples to be taken : instead, they wanted to hand over their own sample jar. In the end, a sample was obtained and tested OK.
Phelim McAleer confronted Josh Fox at a news conference and pointed out that there had been reports of taps being set on fire since before the days of fracking. Josh Fox conceded that this phenomenon had been happening since the 1930s but he hadn’t mentioned this in his documentary because ‘it was not relevant’.

Looking at Josh Fox’s disgusting mug, he looks sooooo like the stereotypical indoctrinated, smug, entitled-elitist marxist-progressive. A pic of him would serve well for target-practice.

Both of Fox’s rants are opinion pieces he thinks are facts. It is a consistent problems with the Radical “Woke’s” They are divorced from reality.

What really terrifies the Greenie/Alarmists is that it is one of their own cherished brethren who has seen the Light and come over to the side of rational thought. Global Warming fanatics always react badly when confronted with the scientific facts.

Also other people have claimed that the movie is “untruthful and deceitful”, “untrue, not factual” and “unfactual unscientific”.
However has anyone ever made any attempt to write down the claims in the movie which are supposedly not correct? I have not seen any rebuttal. I would be interested to read those as well.

Yes, Fox’s complaints are essentially ad hominem attacks on Moore, with no specific points being contested, or alternative facts provided.
Censorship- the bastion of evil cowards and power mongers. Here in Canada our minority government is making repeated attempts to silence voices it doesn’t like. All the while funding voices it does like with tax dollars. It can’t get much sicker than that. I’m not sure anymore what it will take to get the masses angry enough to do something…

When Michael Moore conflated Dick Clark’s business operations with a child being murdered because some useless sack of $hit left a gun out for his 6-year old nephew to find, I thought, “here stands a man with no more brains than a small pile of rat droppings.” He confirmed my conclusion when he used the Oscar podium to squawk about a stolen election.
Now I have to concede that just maybe, brains or not, his only real concern is for the common working person. He sure as hell is still deeply misguided though with this stale anti-capitalist cant.

My thoughts. Man made climate change is a given. There were lots of scenes where people who were promoting renewable energy were asked fairly obvious questions and squirmed while admitting that fossil fuels were actually still involved. Great scenes were the mass gatherings with stage acts powered by solar power were revealed to have diesel back up. Mining is constantly depicted as being horrendously bad for the environment but, although it makes a mess while it is happening, the damage can be repaired by design or simply by nature reclaiming the site over time. The whole wood burning thing is exposed as the insanity that it is. At the end he blames the whole mess on evil capitalists instead of stupid and corrupt politicians. There is also some prog rock.
As to nature reclaiming land, looks what’s happened to the area around Mt. St. Helens.

Oh give me a break. Calm the hell down and realize the world is full of every color not just black and white for crying out loud. Grow some balls and do something constructive. Make a movie or a commentary discussing the points you disagree with and back it up with facts and more importantly cited researched sources. Disagree like an adult, not as a kid telling the teacher what happened with the “bully” in the playground.
Otherwise, sit down, shut up and open your ears, you might actually learn a thing or two. And for cripes sake, PROOFREAD your stuff! You want to be taken seriously as a dissenting voice against something you don’t agree with, well, proofread and edit. Calm your anger and fear, gather your thoughts and present your counterargument like a communicator rather than a spoiled little child.
The response to your anger spewing letter should have been, “Moore is entitled to his opinion, if you have a dissenting opinion or a counterargument, please feel free to upload your own video on your own channel.” In other words, “sorry but we are neutral, you are allowed to disagree with anyone and produce your own video saying so on our platform as long as it conforms to our rules and regulations that you signed when you became a creator. Opinions of creators are not the opinions of our company, we are not liable as we are a PLATFORM not a PUBLISHER.”
