h/t Breitbart; Climate protestors in Berlin have upped the ante on green attention seeking, by standing on ice blocks with nooses around their necks tied to a mock gallows, to highlight their climate concerns;

In my opinion such stunts are utterly irresponsible. Climate protestors don’t need more attention, because they already have everyone’s attention.
Climate skeptics and lukewarmers are well aware of the protests, but we still don’t care, because we think protestors have been misled.
Protestors standing with a noose around their necks is not going to make people change their minds about whether what the protestors are demanding is reasonable, it just makes them look like nutcases.
But dangerous climate protest stunts might have one unintended consequence. How long until some attention seeking kid dies, because they tried to copy the recklessly irresponsible climate stunt of one of their green “heroes”?
There is a beautiful article in the Wellington “Dominion Post” of 22 September entitled “I’ve lived this horror for 50 years”. About David Lowe, who was conscripted into measuring CO2 concentrations in NZ many years ago. He has watched the concentration rise from 326 to 409 ppm. He blames the scientists of the 1980s and 1990s who deliberately spread mistruths about climate change while on the payrolls of oil companies, like Fred Singer and others profiled in the 2010 book “Merchants of Doubt”. “I just think …the bastard, how dare he not look at the facts. That makes me angry, people who deliberately go out and falsify what’s going on.”
Sounds like Gary Pearse’s third paragraph. Or perhaps Tim Flannery who thinks his life has been a “colossal failure.”
Didn’t the u.n or ipcc say that by 1990 all the world will be under water? Then it was 1996, 2001, 2008, 2012, 2017, (rough guess) yet all we have seen is the repeat of past weather cycles?? If the greens get what they want, which is total shut down of society, then who will grow our food? Control Sanitation? Or what will the ultimately billions of people do with out jobs? All countries which rely on tourists will close, bye bye hawaii…
Would anyone that participated in those protests point out what’s wrong with their climate and how it’s changed? Most of them looked like they were marching in very pleasant weather. No catastrophe to be found. Pleasant days are just as indicative of climate change as a hurricane if “climate change is happening now”. I’m sick of the drivel. Where’s the beef – er….catastrophe?

In the twisted, unethical and immoral philosophy of Leftists, if an environmental wacko accidentally hangs himself in a stupid publicity stunt, that person is doing Mother Gaia a favor by permanently removing their “carbon footprint”, which, in the delusional mind of a Leftist, is…a good thing; they become a “martyr” for The Cause…
My take, and I may well be wrong, is that this is the last gasp of the CAGW hoax, a last attempt to keep the bandwagon rolling. The effort the mainstream media like the Guardian are are putting into this campaign is extraordinary, and it smacks of desperation.

theyre being “assisted” by some collective of writers/journos to push the fear and panic for the duration of the climate fest and the un is supposedly releasing a terribly scary report on climate using the IPCC in the next day or maybe already? being OS it takes some hrs to drip downunder;-)
So.. if one happened to be passing by, slipped on the melt water and accidentally pushed the block away as one fell.. could one be charged? Asking for a friend..
How did they make the ice? fossil fuels of course!

not soon enough. yeah I know thats harsh but it is what it is.
I think that the blocks of ice should be where their heads are, and their heads should be under their feet. This would be more symbolically correct.
So those clowns are waterboarding themselves ….. the latest generation continues to amaze me!
It was a climate-political art performance.
No one at any time was in any danger.
What’s next? “Climate Death Trains”? “Climate Gas Chambers”? “The Climate Holocaust”?
Shameful.
These performance artists are way too tame. They need to up the shock factor and start using their sexual anatomy in some fashion — perhaps freezing certain parts, and then allowing body heat to melt them, … to symbolize how the warming Earth (caused by humans) is melting the sacred ice of Gaia.
Hope they weren’t wearing shoes with slippery soles…..
The stunt is, however, a good demonstration of how long it takes tomelta large block (or whole continent) of solid ice. except for the possibility of slipping off the block, they were protected by physics — and the amount of energy necessary to cause substancial melting of those blocks.

They wouldn’t be so well protected if there happened to be a weak joint in the block that only required a minimal amount of melting to fail.
