Bill Nye “the Science Guy” has another global warming prediction — Americans will have to grow their food in Canada if nothing is done to limit temperature rise.
“The agriculture in North America is going to have to move north into what would nominally be Canada and we don’t have the infrastructure,” Nye told MSNBC host Chris Matthews Tuesday night.
“We don’t have the railroads and roads to get food from that area to where we need it around the world,” Nye warned.

Bill Nye says global warming will mean America needs to grow its crops in Canada:

Nye made his remarks as freezing temperatures descended over much of Canada and the U.S., bringing below-zero temperatures across the Midwest and Great Plains. When wind chill is factored in, it really feels like -53 degrees Fahrenheit to Minnesota residents.

In Chicago, the temperature hit -22 degrees Wednesday morning, with a wind chill of -47 degrees. Officials are warning residents to stay indoors and avoid the dangerous cold.

More than 220 million Americans are experiencing below-freezing temperatures across the lower-48 states, according to meteorologist Ryan Maue. About 26 million people are living with temperatures at or below -20 degrees.

Nye also told Matthews rural Americans have been “hoodwinked” into believing getting rid of fossil fuels would hurt the economy.
“I claim that the people in rural areas are affected perhaps even more than people in urban areas, and they’ve been hoodwinked,” Nye said. “They’ve been led astray by this group of like-minded people who feel that the economic effects of getting away from fossil fuels are going to be catastrophic, but that is just simply not true.”
However, coal and natural gas are providing roughly 80 percent of the electricity needed to keep the power and heat on in the Midwest, according to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator that manages the grid.

Bill Nye is a true science advocate you morons !
His remarks in a period like this is a true wake up call to skepticism !
/sarc for the first sentence, love you guys
Windchill is bunk unless you are running around outside in your birthday suit.
What?
Do you also think that humidity has nothing to do with how warm or cold you feel when outside at some particular temperature?
I mean really now…how can you claim that wind chill is bunk?
Try this: Go somewhere where it is 20 below zero with no wind, and you have just enough clothing on to be comfortable.
Then go somewhere it is the same temp but with 40 mph wind in that same clothing.
I can tell you spend every little time outside in cold weather, if any at all.
If you have ever actually worked outside, or spent entire days out of doors over any period of time when it was chilly or cold, you know very well that wind has a huge effect on how well your body retains heat. This is just as true in hot weather.
90 degrees with 75 dewpoint is brain meltingly hot if there is no wind at all, especially if the sun is out and the angle is high. Same conditions with a stiff breeze is no where close to as uncomfortable.
70 degrees with low humidity, no wind? You can wear shorts and not be cold.
70 degrees low humidity and very windy? You are gonna feel cold in shorts, unless maybe if you are from Minnesota.
Why make such an obviously untrue assertion?
They sell a lot of fans every year, and every purchase proves that people feel cooler when the air is moving vs. when it is still. And the faster it moves the greater the effect.
A ceiling fan is known to allow Air conditioning to be set 3-5 degrees warmer with no loss in comfort.
The colder it is, the more effect wind speed has.
This prediction is worth one millionth of one Venezuelan Bolivar.
“What would nominally be Canada?” Them sound like fighting words you Bow Tie wearing gimp…
““We don’t have the railroads and roads to get food from that area to where we need it around the world,” Nye warned…
No YOU sure don’t, but we DO… You uninformed ignoramus.
Besides, the Prairies might be an Independent Republic in the near future as Anti-Socialist, Anti-Progressive, Anti-Moron, sentiments keep rising. We stoke our fires of industry with used Bow Ties… Better watch out Billy Boy.

You know, because it’s just a matter of time before solar-powered Tractors and other farming equipment are ready to do the hard work of farming.
Canada suffered large crop loss and low quality results due to cold in 2018. And as the planet cools its going to get worse. You can find media reports of this at iceagenow, there were articles and I particularly recall pictures of combine harvesters operating in snow covered fields. Also if my memory is correct the potato crop was severely damaged.
Hmm, average summer temperature in Kansas City is about 25C, average in Toronto about 23C. But perhaps bedazzling Bill meant Winnipeg, average 20C. Of course you also need some warming in those winters from -10C. He reportedly flies between residences in LA and NY, so presumably LA is getting far too hot.
If it keeps getting any warmer like this, we are going to erect a big, beautiful wall on our northern border to keep those Canadian heathens out. We will be migrating to Mexico to farm.
Bill Nye’s idiocy amounts to nothing. If America needs to buy food from Canada, ok. Canada knows how to build roads and railroads too.
I guess you could move to Canada.
Just planting a week or two earlier seems easier.
The rate of useless predictions being issued should be a major component of any index measure of advocacy/lobbyist policy moves. This would be similar to the VIX index of risk in financial markets, but in this case it’s more a measure of upwellings of stupidity ahead of a major policy mistake.
Slick Billy Nye is the “Dr. OZ” of atmospheric science. Nothing but hype & fraud, all the time making money from a brain numb populace.
Maybe at some point Bill Nye knew something about science, but he has put all of that aside to pursue a career in entertainment. He is no more credible on scientific issues than Al Gore or Whoopie Goldberg. Too bad his acting isn’t very good either; played the father of the head geek on “Blind Spot” (can’t remember the character’s name). Not surprisingly the show really went downhill not long after that and I stopped watching it.
The end is Nye … what a nutcase.
Yep. Just like Mexico and Central America grow theirs in the US. That’s why their people have to come here; to get their food. Thank you Science Guy! For being so so smart! And generous with your smartness. We owe you bigly.
Bill Nye should have a talk with the California food growers that are leasing land in Mexico and moving operations there because they can get water and labor.
Bill Nye… A really sad ending to someone that could have done much to influence young people over real science. Imagine my surprise when I discovered he doesn’t understand real science, he just repeats what he has read. I briefly met him once – he seemed to be in a hurry and not very polite – I get it, things to do, places to be.
If only he could have put the necessity of understanding a theory ahead of his need for attention, then he might have been more than a sad footnote in history.
Too bad, what a waste.
Nye also told Matthews rural Americans have been “hoodwinked” into believing getting rid of fossil fuels would hurt the economy.

He says this after people living in Minnesota just got an object lesson on the problems of relying on anything OTHER than fossil fuels. (https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/01/why-green-energy-is-futile-in-one-lesson.php?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=sw&utm_campaign=sw)
The wind basically wasn’t blowing anywhere (not just Minnesota) and there wasn’t enough Natural Gas available to produce electricity and heat people’s homes there. People would have had an even harder time staying warm if coal wasn’t supplying 45% of the electricity.
Forget harming the economy.
Getting rid of fossil fuels would make it impossible for people in some states to stay warm during winter.
Forget harming the economy.
What got me was when Nye was asked what he thought about LENR and replied about Tokamaks. For someone who claims to be a ‘science guy’ that was a real clanger.
If he is interested in climate and energy, surely he would have studied these subjects?
I wonder where Dr Zachary Smith went.
He floated off into space with the floating green woman that ate neutronium.
Bill Nye’s Latest Climate Warning: The US Will Have To Grow Its Food In Canada
But we’ll be OK, since Mexico and Central America will grow their food in the US….. 🙂
Sorry about being late to comment. Does he even spend a second to see if the data agrees with his latest pronouncement?
So check this out (from a source reputable with globalists even): https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/AG.PRD.CREL.MT
No go into the by country charts. Isn’t it striking that some of the fastest growing producers are closer to the equator that the arctic? If things warm up a bit, and we get a doubling of CO2, we should see an explosion of food production, both in the US and Canada.
Why not move to Antarctica. The icecaps are in full disintegration and collapsing, so in a few years there will be a lot of farmland available.
Or did i misunderstand what collapse means?
Yes, but penquins have sovereignty there.
You’d have to prove yourself to be at least 1/1024th penquin, or else its stealing.
‘Bill Nye is a LIAR. He is despicable.
