I’m pretty sure he’ll blame his blathering on the heat. You have to wonder if privately, many leading climate alarmists are saying quietly “shut up John you are blowing our argument“.
(CNSNews.com) – Secretary of State John Kerry told an audience in Mexico on Wednesday that temperatures in Europe and in Vietnam were “unprecedented” and broke “every record that’s ever been seen.” However, although it was hot that day, he was off the mark.
Speaking at an environmentally-friendly technology event in Mexico City, Kerry said he had just caught a CNN weather report in his hotel and “saw the temperatures around the world right now.”
“Thirty-four degrees centigrade [Celsius] in Vietnam today, in May. Twenty-nine, thirty, thirty-two, thirty-three in places all around Europe,” he said. “Unprecedented. Breaks every record that’s ever been seen.”
“What we are seeing around the world is what scientists have predicted,” Kerry continued. “They’re not telling us that we may see global climate change. We are seeing it, and we’re seeing the impacts now.”
Wednesday was a hot day in Vietnam, with temperatures rising at their highest to 36 degrees celsius (96.8°F) at Tan Son Nhut international airport in Ho Chi Minh City. But according to Vietnam’s foreign ministry, the highest temperature recorded in May is 39°C (102.2°F) in Ho Chi Minh City, and 42°C (107.6°F) in Hanoi. The Hanoi record was registered in 1926.
The hottest places in Europe in the heat of the day on Wednesday, according to weatheronline.co.uk included parts of Russia, Germany, central Italy and southern Turkey, all in the 29-32°C (84-89°F) range.
The highest temperature ever recorded in European Russia was 44°C (111.2°F) in 2010; in Germany was 40.2°C (104.4°F) in 1983 and 2003; in Italy was 48.5°C (119.3°F) in 1999; and in Turkey was 48.8°C (119.8°F) in 1993.

He goes on to cite the usual talking points, er tipping points. Meanwhile, real problems in the world exist and are getting worse. When one of those blows up while he’s off someplace preaching about non-existent all-time record highs, he’ll likely go down as the most incompetent Secretary of State ever.
Kerry is just another Colin Powell (a distinguished, capable Vietnam war veteran), groomed upon to frankly hustle people. Something in the air in Washington causes them to get caught up in the energy of special interests.
But, I never thought we would see Tea Party and Progressives join together in opposition to war in Syria. It was a good thing, united we stand, divided we get hustled… into all sorts of deceitful calls to action… by alarmists
Once again Kerry (Secretary Foghorn Leghorn) shows what a wise decision the American voters made in 2004 when they rejected him for President.
@milodonharlani –
Here’s my choice for the Republican ticket for 2016: Dr. Ben Carson for President, Gov. Susana Martinez for Vice President. The only Republican combination that can handily beat Hillary, and put an end to the corruption of climate science.
@dbstealey –
Yes, we have a traitor as our nation’s chief diplomat. One of my MBA classmates at USC (1975) served with Kerry in Vietnam, and what he had to say about him was not flattering.
It’s not surprising that a man of such low perspicacity and venal character would push the AGW line. After all, isn’t it about lies and intimidation? A coward’s game, for sure, and Kerry fits it perfectly.
One further note:
It is my understanding that Jeb Bush is a strong AGW believer, as is Chris Christie. Both are big-government, big-spending advocates, little different from the Democrats. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are skeptics, but probably no more electable than J Bush or Christie, both of whom will come across rather like Romney.. Mike Huckabee is a question mark.
–And to think in 2004, while running for the presidency, Kerry sounded like an educated, intelligent man. Somewhere between then and 2012, he must have had a brain transplant. I wonder where Dr. Frankestein found the brain that he put in the head of this new climate change monster?–
I don’t recall any politician sounding educated or intelligent, but Kerry was doing something he thought was important- running for president. So he had speech writers.
Kerry probably thinks being Senator, is more important than Sec of State. Senators historically
have regarded themselves as very important, and the billionaire Senator Kerry was probably excessive in this regard. So being a Sec State is getting a boy scout patch that Kerry doesn’t thinks he actually needs- a rare moment in Kerry’s life, where he regards that is doing someone else as service. So he has volunteered to do the dishes, but has no idea how to do dishes.
Since John Kerry’s now Secretary of State I believe nothing could be more appropriate than updating the lyrics to the classic R&B song, ‘Wonderful World.’ Since a wonderful world it will now be.
Don’t know much about history
Don’t know much biology
Don’t know squat ’bout science book
Know a little ’bout the French I took
But I know Terry that I love you
And I know that if I get in the Senate too
What a wonderful gig this would be
Don’t know much geography
Don’t know squat ’bout trigonometry
Don’t know much about algebra
Don’t know what a computer is for
But I guess that one an’ one might be two
And if you’re rich I could be one with you
What a wonderful gig this would be
I don’t claim to be a dashing leader
But with Botox I might be
Hope being an incredibly small pinprick threatener
Can win some respect for me
Don’t know squat ’bout climatology
Know even less ’bout meteorology
Don’t know squat ’bout science book
Know a little ’bout the French I took
But I know Terry, your money’s what I love ’bout you
And big honcho at State’s a cushy job I love too
What a wonderful gig this will be
Actually the Obama administration has many masters of buffoonery.
Kerry is and always has been, a boob.
Been browsing the Huff Post and some of the other alarmist rags – they’re into denying the pause in warming, claiming it’s hotter than ever and this winter was the warmest ever (!). I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or vomit.
Jawn, Jawn why the long face? Climate chaos is just a scary story for adults. Settle down and I’ll get you some sweet feed.
Kerry. Amazing.
I count myself as extremely fortunate having just moved from Mass to Fl., and finally, after 25yrs, escaping the asylum.
Mass is famous for producing/promoting individuals like Kerry. Many may be unaware that during his tenure in the Senate, he succeeded in winning the “Congressional Deadwood Award” by not authoring a single piece of legislation for a period of 8yrs (I believe that was the time frame).
This from the state that continually re-elected an individual blatantly guilty of killing a woman while driving intoxicated…yeah, Mass just can’t get enough of this type of politician.
Kerry plays to HIS base…which is how he continually got re-elected. It’s what politicians do…and he’s done it well.
I served with guys like him in the 70’s. Self-promoting, self important (wrote his own recommendation for a medal? Seriously?)
All of the people I know/knew in Mass were famous for contradictions. “Gridlock is the problem!!! It’s destroying the political process!” and then they vote for an Elizabeth Warren because she publicly guarantees that she’ll never vote for a single piece of legislation put forth by the “other side”. If, by some miracle, they ever put down the hammer, there’s a chance they may realize how good it feels to not have that constant pounding that came from hitting their head with it.
This guy tried to avoid paying sales tax in Mass, the very state that elected him, by “hiding” his newly purchased multi-million dollar yacht in Rhode Island. Worth billions, but had to try and scam the system.
And now, those same people are absolutely thrilled that he’s SoS.
He’s just a regular guy, standing up for the poor, wretched, middle class working family.
Hey…he went wind surfing to prove it.
Ok…I could go on, but I’ll stop, being thankful that I’ve finally escaped the madness. I felt like Susan Powder yelling “Stop the insanity!!!!” for as long as I lived there.
/rant off
Jim from FLORIDA…
Is there something wrong with the water supply in the Capital building? It appears the longer people continue to drink from that fount, the more detached from reality they become.
