I’m pretty sure he’ll blame his blathering on the heat. You have to wonder if privately, many leading climate alarmists are saying quietly “shut up John you are blowing our argument“.
(CNSNews.com) – Secretary of State John Kerry told an audience in Mexico on Wednesday that temperatures in Europe and in Vietnam were “unprecedented” and broke “every record that’s ever been seen.” However, although it was hot that day, he was off the mark.
Speaking at an environmentally-friendly technology event in Mexico City, Kerry said he had just caught a CNN weather report in his hotel and “saw the temperatures around the world right now.”
“Thirty-four degrees centigrade [Celsius] in Vietnam today, in May. Twenty-nine, thirty, thirty-two, thirty-three in places all around Europe,” he said. “Unprecedented. Breaks every record that’s ever been seen.”
“What we are seeing around the world is what scientists have predicted,” Kerry continued. “They’re not telling us that we may see global climate change. We are seeing it, and we’re seeing the impacts now.”
Wednesday was a hot day in Vietnam, with temperatures rising at their highest to 36 degrees celsius (96.8°F) at Tan Son Nhut international airport in Ho Chi Minh City. But according to Vietnam’s foreign ministry, the highest temperature recorded in May is 39°C (102.2°F) in Ho Chi Minh City, and 42°C (107.6°F) in Hanoi. The Hanoi record was registered in 1926.
The hottest places in Europe in the heat of the day on Wednesday, according to weatheronline.co.uk included parts of Russia, Germany, central Italy and southern Turkey, all in the 29-32°C (84-89°F) range.
The highest temperature ever recorded in European Russia was 44°C (111.2°F) in 2010; in Germany was 40.2°C (104.4°F) in 1983 and 2003; in Italy was 48.5°C (119.3°F) in 1999; and in Turkey was 48.8°C (119.8°F) in 1993.

He goes on to cite the usual talking points, er tipping points. Meanwhile, real problems in the world exist and are getting worse. When one of those blows up while he’s off someplace preaching about non-existent all-time record highs, he’ll likely go down as the most incompetent Secretary of State ever.
I would like to say he’s an idiot, but he managed to marry a $500 million dollar fortune created by a Republican. So I can’t say he’s a complete idiot.
John Kerry has always been an ambitious dullard who’s never really had a clue about anything other than marrying rich women, so this really shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Kerry is a traitor who merely mouths the words his handlers tell him to say.
dbstealey says:
For the record, Kerry never went to NVM, but he did consort with the enemy leadership, while still a commissioned naval officer (reserve), in Paris, 1971. That was de facto treason, and he should have been court martialed for it.
BS. Now, does beans means Heinz?. Maybe that explains all the hot air coming out of his back orifice. Check out Heinz and you will understand the reason for Kerry’s garbage. Check out his son too. LOL.
Beanz means Heinz

Expect Kerry to declare the first day of summer as a sure sign of global warming. What a ding bat. They have lost of observations so they resort to pointing at cherry picked weather events.
Are we? What caused it?
If Mr. Kerry is the best thing the United States of America has got to offer as the Secretary of State then I feel for you. He knows sceptics aren’t fools so he’s counting on Joe Six Pack. The problem is that Joe Six Pack is a rabid sceptic anyway. Hollywood housewives? She’s worried about her mascara situation. When will these liars and climate investors give up on this con job?
There is still a 40% ice cover on Lake Superior heading into Memorial Weekend.
Maybe Kerry should try some wind surfing on the lake this weekend. If he did he might wish he were in Hanoi.

It doesn’t matter if he’s wrong. He gets his message out there, people hear it, and those who don’t know any better, get alarmed and anxious about the future of their planet. Job done, pay up!
It’s a disgrace that ridiculous, wild claims are made unchallenged, and the exposure of these errors/lies is never given the same publicity.
Meanwhile, here in Ireland today, temperatures are typical of November temps. Buy lots of warm clothes folks. I have proof we are returning to an ice age. (Eh… sarc.)
Take a look at the current sst anomalies. Note the cold anomaly in the upper Atlantic. That started developing at the end of February, and it now dominates a large portion of the ocean. That is going to keep Europe cool for the most part, during this summer. There is a somewhat similar cooler setup in the eastern Pacific, which has led to a steady amount of refreshing cloud formation passing over in the day. I see this as being the pattern for this summer in No California. I hope so. The last 3 summers were very hot.
It would be hard to imagine a more dysfunctional group than those who currently lead this nation. Kerry is right up there with the best of the worst.
He’s also introduced a new buzz phrase: ‘Climate Chaos’.
Probably to go viral soon.
I am so done with voting. So done.
“What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Can someone please translate that into Latin? I think the State Dept. needs a new motto.

23 May: WSJ Washington Wire Blog: Adele C. Morris: Will the EPA Push for a Carbon Tax?
(Adele C. Morris is policy director of the Brookings Institution’s Climate and Energy Economics Project.)
Thanks to a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that greenhouse gases are considered air pollutants under the Clean Air Act, the Environmental Protection Agency has to do something to control them. But the act is particularly ill-suited to controlling a non-toxic global pollutant…
One would be a national carbon tax, which could be part of a broader pro-growth, deficit-reduction package. Such a tax is, of course, politically impossible these days, but it’s still smart policy, as Aparna Mathur of the American Enterprise Institute and I explain in a new paper.
Another alternative that’s getting attention in Congress: Offer states the option of enacting their own sensible carbon tax to avoid the convoluted regulations that otherwise would be required by the Clean Air Act as interpreted by the Supreme Court. Legislation drafted by Rep. John Delaney (D., Md.) would offer states just such a powerful choice.
Or, the EPA and the states could muddle through under existing law. Stanford scholars and I analyzed how the EPA could allow states to adopt a carbon tax as their Clean Air Act compliance plan if they could show it would satisfactorily reduce emissions. A survey of 40 prominent economists last year found that 90% agree that a carbon tax is the “best system of emission reduction.” The question is: Will the EPA?

22 May: BBC: ‘Callous’ firms in carbon credit scam shut down
A web of firms that sold carbon credits to vulnerable investors at inflated prices has been shut down in the High Court on grounds of public interest.
Eco-Synergies Ltd bought credits for 65p each, selling them to investors via other firms for up to an 869% profit…
The credits were sourced by Eco-Synergies at a cost of £2.3m and then marketed, using false and misleading claims, through 12 companies and raised a total of £19m…
Chris Mayhew, company investigations supervisor at the Insolvency Service, said: “The credits were sold at such inflated prices that an unnatural increase in value would be required before investors could break even, let alone see a return on their investment.
“Essentially, investors including vulnerable individuals – and often repeat victims who were urged to buy more and more credits – have lost their money.
“I would urge anyone cold-called and offered hot air by callous individuals to simply hang up the call.”
Eco-Synergies used lavish brochures calling itself “the voluntary carbon specialists” and claiming to be a carbon market pioneer…
(BESPOKE – LOL)It provided bespoke assistance to the companies selling the credits, offering to train their staff in how to sell them to the public…
Its brochure claimed that the firm had a monthly turnover of more than £5m and had spent £200,000 on legal fees to ensure its system and contracts were “watertight”.
The Insolvency Service estimated that “hundreds, possibly over a thousand, individual investors [have been] affected by the 13 firms”.
These latest cases take the total number of (BRITISH) carbon credit firms closed by the Insolvency Service to 32.
In the last two years, 19 other companies have been closed down after taking nearly £24m from over 1,500 investors.

The Clean Air Act empowers the EPA to attempt to control Earth’s climate through curbs on
carbon dioxide emissions. This act is, however, incapable of rendering the climate controllable.
A result of inadequencies in the methodology of global warming research is that the climate is not yet controllable.

Q&A – What EU Parliament election means for bloc’s carbon market
LONDON, May 23 (Reuters) – Europe’s Emissions Trading System (ETS) remains in dire straits and is likely to be dealt a further blow on Sunday when elections to the EU parliament end as polls predict a rise for political parties sceptical towards climate change.

***politically, Australia is coming under fierce attack because the new Govt is rolling back CAGW policies & hasn’t put CAGW on the Agenda for the G20 Summit to be held in Brisbane in November. the following mentions the pressure from the US to get it on the agenda, & this week we had some European Ambassadors to Australia doing the same. of course, Europe has its own problems with CAGW sceptic parties predicted to do well in the elections, (results will be announced Sunday European time):
23 May: Bloomberg: Mike Anderson: Australia’s Pollution U-Turn Threatening UN Climate Talks
Australia’s program to rein in pollution is losing momentum, the latest in a series of setbacks for the international effort to tackle global warming.
With the highest per-capita fossil fuel emissions among industrial countries, Australia’s participation in United Nations-led climate talks is seen as crucial to sway China and India to step up pollution controls even as developed nations backslide. Now, Australia’s environmental stance is undergoing an about-face as the country’s new government and its political opponents haggle over the best way to dismantle earlier regulations…
“It feels like a 180-degree turn for Australia,” said Jake Schmidt, director of international climate policy at the New York-based Natural Resources Defense Council. “That’s the hardest thing for the international community to take.”
Closer to home, environmentalists worry that the new government’s stance will set back years of effort to rein in pollution…
“There is a likelihood of Australia becoming a climate policy wasteland,” said John Connor, chief executive officer of The Climate Institute in Sydney…
“The budget drama is significantly diminishing the authority of the goverment and emboldening opponents across the spectrum.” …
Yet Prime Minister Tony Abbott, fulfilling a campaign promise, has vowed to replace the levy with an alternative that he says would still effectively reduce emissions. His plan, though, is under attack by Clive Palmer, the mining magnate turned politician who controls three critical seats in Australia’s senate. While Palmer also wants to do away with the carbon levy, he is opposing Abbott’s program, arguing it’s a waste of money…
***The U.S. has encouraged Abbott to include climate change on the G-20 agenda…
“Australia risks being embarrassed by global leaders who are determined to take action, like German Chancellor Angela Merkel and U.S. President Barack Obama,” said Kobad Bhavnagri, the Sydney-based head for Australia research at Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
“Australia is now being positioned very definitely on the wrong side of history,” said Ian Dunlop, FORMER chairman of the Australian Coal Association and former CEO of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. “Paying polluters to reduce their emissions is morally and ethically flawed.”

Obama and Kerry sound as if they have been promised “positions” in the possible future UNEP climate treaty Global Government?
With Kerry, “highs” and lows of beclowning are the same. He was selected for his mendacity, after all, by the most truthless Prez in American history.
A lot of people, especially narcissists, forget the planet is older than the span of their lives. Records go back billions of years, not just back to their first memory of their short life.
By the way, for a global event, the warming hasn’t been very global. Here in Pennsylvania temps are lucky to get into the 70’sF on any given day.
So if it’s warmer in one place but cooler in another, is that proof of globul warming?
Kerry obviously has a problem with the truth. He’s just stated that America is the only country offering help to find the lost girls. That’s news to the other countries who have also been offering help….
Chris
Kerry was appointed to SOS to make Hilary look good.
@Barbee
Very similar to a comment I made elsewhere, but I said it was to make Biden look smart. 😉
When I first noticed John Kerry it was during some presidential election campaign and my first thought was that he looked like a tree. I reasoned, nobody will vote for a tree, however congenial. And so it proved. Now I can add, he also has the intellectually capacity of a tree.
I was a bit surprised about the record high temperatures in Europe because I read once somewhere that Seville (Spain) was holding the European all time record high temperature. So I went to wiki and I found this:
“A historical record high (disputed) of 50.0 °C (122 °F) was recorded on 4 August 1881, according to the NOAA Satellite and Information Service.[26] There is a non-accredited record by the National Institute of Meteorology of 47.2 °C (117 °F) on 1 August during the 2003 heat wave, according to a weather station (83910 LEZL) located in the southern part of Seville Airport, near the abandoned military zone. This temperature would be one of the highest ever recorded in Spain and Europe after the European record of 48.0 °C (118 °F) recorded in Athens on 10/07/1977 and the 47.4 °C (117.4 °F) of Amareleja, Portugal on 1 August 2003. ” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seville#Climate
Bolding is mine. I wonder why this temperature is disputed.
With Kerry out there swift boating the climate I’m reminded of a golden oldie.
The Night Before Christmas
(Cambodian Version)
Twas the night before Christmas and we were afloat
Somewhere in Cambodia in our little boat.
While the river was lightened by rockets red glare
No one but the President knew we were there.
The crew was all nestled deep down in their bunks,
While the Spook and I watched the sampans and junks.
Our mission was secret, so secret in fact,
No one else would remember it when we got back.
When out on the water there arose such a clatter
I leaped down from the bridge to see what was the matter.
The incoming friendly was starting to flash
And I knew that the ARVN’s were having a bash.
The snap of friendly fire on the warm tropic air
Convinced me for sure no one knew we were there,
On a clandestine mission so secret it’s true
That I’m still convinced only Tricky Dick knew.
While I huddled for safety in the tub on the bow,
I thought of a title, “Apocalypse Now.”
To give to the films I was I making each day
To show all the voters when I made my big play.
As I sat there sweating in my lucky flight jacket,
Spook said, “Merry Christmas!” and tossed me a packet.
And what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a new lucky cap, which I still have right here.
I keep it tucked here, in this leather brief case,
Just sharing with the press its secretive place
As I regale them again with my senate refrain,
That Christmas in Cambodia is seared into my brain.
Don’t bother to quibble with history my friend,
By pointing out Johnson was President then.
Don’t listen to Swiftees who try to explain,
For I tell you that night is seared into my brain.
Down Hibbard, down Lonsdale, and you too O’Neill,
So you don’t remember? Well it’s something I feel.
I don’t need all you Swiftvets to support my campaign,
Cause Christmas in Cambodia is seared into my brain,
Into my brain, into my brain, into my brain…
