John Kerry reaches new highs of beclowning himself with temperature

I’m pretty sure he’ll blame his blathering on the heat. You have to wonder if privately, many leading climate alarmists are saying quietly “shut up John you are blowing our argument“.

(CNSNews.com) – Secretary of State John Kerry told an audience in Mexico on Wednesday that temperatures in Europe and in Vietnam were “unprecedented” and broke “every record that’s ever been seen.” However, although it was hot that day, he was off the mark.

Speaking at an environmentally-friendly technology event in Mexico City, Kerry said he had just caught a CNN weather report in his hotel and “saw the temperatures around the world right now.”

“Thirty-four degrees centigrade [Celsius] in Vietnam today, in May. Twenty-nine, thirty, thirty-two, thirty-three in places all around Europe,” he said. “Unprecedented. Breaks every record that’s ever been seen.”

“What we are seeing around the world is what scientists have predicted,” Kerry continued. “They’re not telling us that we may see global climate change. We are seeing it, and we’re seeing the impacts now.”

Wednesday was a hot day in Vietnam, with temperatures rising at their highest to 36 degrees celsius (96.8°F) at Tan Son Nhut international airport in Ho Chi Minh City. But according to Vietnam’s foreign ministry, the highest temperature recorded in May is 39°C (102.2°F) in Ho Chi Minh City, and 42°C (107.6°F) in Hanoi. The Hanoi record was registered in 1926.

The hottest places in Europe in the heat of the day on Wednesday, according to weatheronline.co.uk included parts of Russia, Germany, central Italy and southern Turkey, all in the 29-32°C (84-89°F) range.

The highest temperature ever recorded in European Russia was 44°C (111.2°F) in 2010; in Germany was 40.2°C (104.4°F) in 1983 and 2003; in Italy was 48.5°C (119.3°F) in 1999; and in Turkey was 48.8°C (119.8°F) in 1993.

He goes on to cite the usual talking points, er tipping points. Meanwhile, real problems in the world exist and are getting worse. When one of those blows up while he’s off someplace preaching about non-existent all-time record highs, he’ll likely go down as the most incompetent Secretary of State ever.

If Kerry is ever on the mark, that would be noteworthy.

Kerry is not smart enough to know how dumb he sounds.

May 23, 2014 8:07 am

Yeah, but will the world’s media take him to task on this?
97% say “no”.

Blurring the line between gross incompetence and blatant dishonesty, is what politicians do best. Kerry is merely doing his best – please give him a break.

And to think in 2004, while running for the presidency, Kerry sounded like an educated, intelligent man. Somewhere between then and 2012, he must have had a brain transplant. I wonder where Dr. Frankestein found the brain that he put in the head of this new climate change monster?

Well in my bit of Europe, south west France, this year’s spring has been soggy and darned cold. We’re actualy thinking of lighting a fire this evening it’s so cold. Yeah, I know, that’s weather. I reckon that climate is nothing more than the sum of weather. Some weather we’re having this year . . .

Secretary Kerry is among those Obama administration officials who have been duped by applications of the equivocation fallacy on the part of climatologists ( http://wmbriggs.com/blog/?p=7923 ). One of the consequences is for them to base policy toward global warming upon a pseudoscience. .

Can’t help but notice that the dates for all most of those European highs is within the last 17 years, – but for which further global temperature increase has not occurred. Kerry, like Obama’s “I’m not stupid enough to compare buying healthcare to buying something on Amazon.com” two days after doing just that, frequently says stuff that reveals that one of two things must be true: that either the speaker is an idiot or that the speaker regards his audience as an idiot collective. In Kerry’s case, both.

Real problems may exist in the world., but what has he or the previous SOS done about any of them? Oh, yea, Ambassador Stevens. That’s one.

When your programs to find peace in the middle east, peace in the Ukraine, stop Iran from the bomb, etc., all fail, you turn to talking about the weather or in this case, climate change. John Kerry was basically a politician in Viet Nam when he was very young, and he has always been just a politician. Perhaps he was successful as a politician (small words) but a statesman, never.

“What we are seeing around the world is what scientists have predicted,” Kerry continued. “They’re not telling us that we may see global climate change. We are seeing it, and we’re seeing the impacts now.”
He’s not making a clown of himself , he’s lying. This is the new strategy from the White House. We see it being played out in a state by state propaganda effort, national climate assessment etc.
They’ve realised exaggerating about the future is not working, new approach is lie about the present.

Kerry serves an agenda. He will not go down, in fact they are preparing the big cull. Watch out.

Standard practice in the media world: Panic headlines/statements get published; retractions get buried and ignored.
As long as they keep up the mantra, their followers will keep repeating lies as gospel.

Show us the hidden meter or stamp machine behind the curtain that tallies party donations per ridiculous statement and speech, as in Steyer stamps. Kerry is running up the meter for sure.

May 23, 2014 8:36 am

Kerry actually believes that what he has been told about temperatures around the world rising is a proven fact. So quite naturally he accepts that every day the temperatures he sees on CNN are high and unprecedented. God help US foreign policy !

Greg,

They’ve realised exaggerating about the future is not working, new approach is lie about the present.

You’re correct. That’s precisely what the game plan is now. Skeptics, just try to convince the public that this severe thunderstorm isn’t unprecedented, or that this hot day isn’t unusual. The voting public doesn’t think that way. AGW is here, try to convince people it isn’t, while the politicians and media pummel you with the idea.
It’s audacious. I’m not sure it’s going to get very far, but this Administration seems to be staggering on its last legs anyway.

Has John Kerry been to Manchuria recently …(if too obtuse for the youngsters – search Frank Sinatra, 1962)

Well, I am in Madrid, which counts as Europe, and yesterday it SNOWED in the mountains to the north, barely 50km from my home and just 1600m above the altitude of the city. This would not be common in March, and is definitely very odd for a 22nd of May.

“What we are seeing around the world is what scientists have predicted,”
No. What “scientists predicted” was a continued increase over the last 17 years that has not happened.
France is way cooler than it was in 2003. That kind of heat is distant memory now.
May, 5 to 10 years back was scorching, full-on summer. I have logs of my solar water heater output to witness it. This year it’s mediocre and has been raining for most of the last week.
If Kerry wants to pretend weather is climate, I can inform him that today is overcast and 19C in the south of France. “Unprecedented” !!

All this entire administration does is bloviate. They can’t solve real problems because they are too busy creating real problems. So they yap about nonexistent problems.

If his lips are moving he’s probably lying.

Anyone think that these are the types of comments that should be coming from the DoE or some top government scientist? Kerry is having issues with the topics normally covered by State, is that why he’s branching out?
