Watch the Senate climate pajama party all-nighter live

NA_COALPLANTIn case you haven’t heard about it, the Senate is having a “denier bashing fest” while they bask in the warmth provided by steam from the coal-fired Capitol Power Plant.

If Jim Hansen and Senator Tim Wirth can turn up the heat (like he did in a Senate hearing in 1988 by turning off the A/C in summer), you’d think these clowns would have the good sense to turn off the fossil fueled heat while they tell everyone how wrong it is to use fossil fuels.

Senate Democrats’ donor-friendly global warming show

On Monday night into Tuesday morning, two dozen Senate Democrats — members of the party’s newly-formed Climate Action Task Force — plan to hold an all-night, filibuster-like talkathon on the issue of global warming. “Congress must act,” Hawaii Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz, a leader of the group, said in a statement. “On Monday night we’re going to show the growing number of senators who are committed to working together to confront climate change.”

As the Washington notes:

“because these senators are calling for action in a chamber they control but without any specific legislation to offer up for a vote, or any timetable for action this year.”

Which if there is an epitaph of the Reid senate, that is it.

They’re on the same wavelength…

Why doesn’t Senator Reid, the Majority Leader who kicked-off tonight’s clown show, simply bring the bill to the floor for a vote? Because it doesn’t have anything close to the votes it needs?

They could always re-vote Kyoto, Love to see that thing crash and burn again.

It would be fun to query each of these morons about their knowledge of the science on video…Wait, on second thought, that would simply add to our collective shame that our fellow Citizens elected these childish buffoons.
While they’re at it, they should protest ‘Perturbations in the Aether’, ‘The Diminishing Effectiveness of Rabbit’s Feet’ (due to global warming, of course), and the man-caused sharpening of the 90 degree corner of right triangles (models show this to be happening). Maybe ‘Socks Lost in Dryers’, too.

“the growing number of senators”
Meaningless, marketing talk.

Watching the Senate as I write this. It’s truly amazing that the United States Senators in attendance still believe that temperatures are accelerating. It’s as if they refuse to investigate the issue for themselves. Democrat leaders in the Senate are either liars or grossly uninformed.

Spoiler alert: They’ll need your cash contributions to save the world. (For just $5 a day, you can save all of civilization.)
The solutions will be 1) higher taxes, 2) more government regulation, and 3) wealth transfers of various shapes and sizes.

I can see old geezers taking their paws off their share of the gold heist from the Ukraine to rub their greedy hands in glee and to chuckle about the many useful idiots in Washington they’ve bribed with mere change into telling scary sci-fi stories about climate. May there never be a wind chill factor where they’re going.

All for show, and only for show.requiring more “climate change” restrictions ….
But the national ABCNNBCBS media will refuse to tell you (us!) that they DON’T WANT A VOTE to br on record
Too many democrats are up for re-election, and those that are up for re-election are losing. Losing big in many states.
So, the democrats need their crisis, they need their mainstream TV time to pretend to be concerned while they blame “the lack of progress” on the ignorant republican flat-earth deniers anti-science religiously bigoted creationists. But the democrats will at the same time as they condemn repubbies for “no progress” will refuse to hold a real vote, nor any vote that might reduce the current CO2 restrictions and rules that would help restore the economy and jobs. A real vote would be defeated, but would put on record the democrats who want to continue to destroy the economy worldwide.

The Senators are lying. The issue is not about saving the world from Climate Change and they know it.

In another lifetime my engineering firm was hired to ameliorate the solids discharge from the coal-fired Capitol Power Plant, yes in Washington D.C.
The design incorporated state-of-the art, second and tertiary dust collection.
After the bidding process, the Congress would not appropriate sufficient funds even though my firm offer to complete the project for the budget we advanced. They chose not to proceed with the project.
There was a Democratic Congress, House and Senate. Such hypocrites.

Al Franken just said that all the Cold this winter was caused by Global Warming. And we should expect more cold winters. Then says there are propane shortages. That’s all I could take. Morons should not get re-elected. I hope these ignorant Dems push this as their agenda in the fall

I watched for a while. Its the same thing all over again, 97%, Hurricane Sandy, lets do something before its too late, think of the children. Yawn.
There are a couple of important things to note here.
The first is that there are no senators in this climate action task force who are vulnerable this election.
The second is that all revenue bills must be introduced in the House. They can promote cap and tax all they want, but they can’t introduce a bill in the Senate that would fund it.
That leaves caterwauling, which is exactly what they are doing. You would think they would wait until the summer though. Most Americans are really tired of this winter’s weather.

Call it for what it clearly is. McCarthyism : A general term for the phenomenon of mass pressure, harassment, or blacklisting used to instill conformity with prevailing political beliefs

March 10, 2014 7:11 pm

Harry Reid won’t let them do anything else, so this is an effort to get press time before the election. At least this will demonstrate the lowest IQ members that show up to demostrate their knowledge on the subject. lol pg

I tuned in for a brief moment and listened to the senator from Oregon. He went on and on about “forest fires burning hotter and hotter”. I threw up a bit in my mouth and turned it off.
