Wow, it doesn’t get much uglier than this. In my opinion, this is hate speech. Steve Zwick writes in his Forbes column:
We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices.
They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?
People who doubt the magnitude of CO2/AGW driven climate change broke the climate?
I suppose then that Mr. Zwick has never driven a car, never taken an airplane trip, never heated or cooled his home, never bought products produced overseas and shipped here, never grilled at a BBQ, or never used electricity to power his computer to write his litany of hate for Forbes. No, he’s apparently not used any CO2 producing modern convenience at all, which is why he bizarrely believes he has some sort of moral high ground.

I can’t locate any field of expertise Zwick can claim. Does anyone know if he has a physics or climate science degree–any kind of expertise? I want to write about this. I think he is an expert at being ‘level headed’.
You can tell this is so from his comments because he obviously dribbles from both sides of his mouth at the same.
Here in Alberta a provincial election is days away. The leader of the frontrunning political party had the balls to say in a CBC-sponsored leaders’ debate that the debate on climate science is not conclusive. The jeers rained down on her from the audience. The leaders of the other parties called her a denier. Not a good sign for my province.

I would put my resource efficiency up against his any day and I’d come out way better. No I’m not a “save the planet” type (George Carlin covered that well) but I just don’t like to give money away needlessly. If I can stay warm/cool and enjoy life while spending half of what others do to do the same things I win 🙂

If these hypocrites lived in sustainable mud huts and rode to work on horse driven carts and made their own clothes and used the services of the local witch doctor or the power of prayer when illness strikes, if they shunned all the luxuries of the industrial world then I might listen. But they dont do they? Almost without exception these hypocrites are wealthy, are insulated from the consequences of their CAGW political fraud and its always the poorest who have to carry the burden of their politically inspired fantasies. These rich hypocrites do have something to teach us, and we would do well to heed and act on the lessons learned. We must not listen to these deluded dangerous fools, they are false prophets, everything they say or claim should be treated with the scorn and derision they fully deserve. If this cultist gave away his fridge/ipad/microwave/ipod/TV/HiFi/central heating/car/jet travel/money/luxury house/top of the range healthcare then I might listen.

If they really did live that type of “sustainable” lifestyle, we wouldn’t have to listen to them for long. They would be living a stone age existence that typically ended before age 35! Plus, they would have no electronic communications, which means no more television or internet rants from them.
One can only hope that these hypocrites would really embrace the “simple” lifestyle. The rest of us could have some peace and quiet for awhile. While they would be learning (through deprivation) the true value of living in an industrialized world!
(Just in case I was not clear, I do not want them to die early. I only want them to learn that living their supposedly preferred, sustainable lifestyle would be painful, brutal, disease plagued, short, monotonous and no fun.)

This is damage limitation. Starvation is coming but not from climate effects. It will be from lack of access to affordable energy which will severly limit food production and distribution alied to vast areas of food producing land diverted to biofuel production. They will also blame reduced crops on global warming caused by excess CO2 when the true picture is climate change due to perfectly natural GLOBAL COOLING. To my mind THEY are preparing for the riots to come and are directing the focus for the resulting anger.
The problem is that vicious, extremist outbursts like that seep into the weak minded. How long before one of them goes on a “crusade” as per the nutjob in Norway?
Zwick is another of the ugly and unacceptable face of AGW advocacy. Anthony is right not to react to him, it is not worth reducing ourselves down to this level. In a few years time I hope he feels deeply ashamed.
Not really a surprise that such people emerge after a couple of decades of doom mongering. Zwick just confirms my view that, if you bombard them with scare stories for long enough, a significant number of people just crack and start to see commies under every bed and terrorists on every street corner.
