BBC Peddle Fake Heatwave Deaths Claims

By Paul Homewood

More than 2,700 people may have died from heat-related causes in England and Wales during the exceptionally hot weather in May and June, experts’ estimates suggest.

The figure, from a team at Imperial College London, the Met Office and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, is based on what’s known about the dangers of extreme heat.

The study estimates that around 550 people died as a result of the heat between 21 and 29 May, and nearly 2,200 died between 18 and 28 June in England and Wales.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czx5zy82n7no

Unlike these shysters, I am going wait until the actual mortality data is available, which is generally three weeks after the deaths occur – ONS data is for deaths registered, which tends to be about two weeks after death; ONS also publish their weekly reports about 12 days later.

The Imperial study is not based on data, but on computer models, which makes the whole thing worthless.

https://www.imperial.ac.uk/grantham/publications/all-publications/uk-climate-heat-health-risks-may-and-june-2026.php

But what really disgusted me was this comment from Emily Shuckburgh:

Prof Emily Shuckburgh, who is chief scientific adviser for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, said her father died during the extreme heat last month.

“My own father suffered a stroke,” she told Today.

Although they do not know if it was heat-related, Shuckburgh added: “The ambulance services were overwhelmed and it took a number of hours for him to get to hospital. Really sadly, he didn’t survive.

“Now, I can’t say that was because of the heat, I am sure the heat didn’t help, but it really underlines the fact that… these extreme heat events are costing lives today, and we really need to take climate change seriously.”

Using your own father’s tragic death to peddle climate misinformation is unforgiveable, no matter how upset you might be.

She admits that there is no evidence that it was heat-related, but then goes on to say “but it really underlines the fact that… these extreme heat events are costing lives today”. A total non-sequitor!

Shame on you, Emily.

That’s why they’re coming up with ways to make it unavoidable. Surcharge on Council Tax, extra tax on your ISP bill….. etc. One way or another they’re gonna getcha.

They plan to force social media, and YouTube to put the BBC, ITV, C4, Sky etc at the top rankings for any searches. They want Ofcom to control what the independents do and say. The BBC is opening 52 channels on YouTube alone…

BBC to make shows for YouTube in landmark new deal

There may well be an element of surcharging streaming services added in – to replace whats been lost in Licence fee revenue.

This is analogous to next day WWA methods for weather events blaming man for everything that happened as being a large %age worse than it would have been without… nasty, evil man. And it’s rapid, historical data will suffice…

Rapid analysis suggests that around 42% of these deaths were due to the additional heat caused by human-induced climate change.

suggests the extra heat caused by human-induced climate change was responsible for approximately 59% of estimated heat-related deaths in May and 38% in June.

Dr Clair Barnes, Research Associate in Extreme Weather and Climate Change, Imperial College London, said: “It’s time we woke up to the fact that we now live in a country with dangerously hot summers. – London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

When you compare that arrogance and hubris driven certainty with the huge uncertainties of the models themselves, you know these people are activists first and foremost. Accuracy? That’s in their use of language – or not, as the case may be.

Even though the heat wave was a probably mythical tenth of a degree warmer than it otherwise would have been, they declare that CO2 was the cause of the death for everyone who died during the “heat wave”.

Paul Ehrlich suggested that everybody would be dead by 1990 (disappeared into a cloud of blue steam). The death of 2700 people in May and June in England and Wales today would be a miracle.

Alas, he’s dead. We’re still here.

I disappeared in a cloud of blue steam in 1990 like everyone else.

But I got better.

ONS deaths registered weekly is available here:

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/weeklyprovisionalfiguresondeathsregisteredinenglandandwales,

it’s up to, I think 26 June (at the time of posting), it should be a trivial matter to compare this year’s mortality to previous years.

You are all over pseudo-science shysters yet you accept GHE hocus-pocus without question and dismiss my critiques out of hand.

GreenHouse Effect theory says with it Earth’s Global Mean Surface Temperature would be 288 K or 15 C, while without it tGMST would be 255 or -18 C, a difference of 33 C (not K) and Earth would become a -18 C ball of ice.

That is simply wrong.

There is no consensus that 288 K is the GMST & 255 K is the result of a 30% albedo also no consensus. GMST was 15 C in Arrhenius’ 1896 paper (walked back in 1906) and no GHE means no 30% albedo. Without GreenHouse Gas water vapor there is no GHE and Earth would become much like the Moon, barren, 400 K lit side, 100 K dark.

The GHE energy balance graphic found in TFK_bams09 and a plethora of clones does not in fact balance and violates both 1st & 2nd laws of thermodynamics.

The kinetic heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmospheric molecules render “extra” surface energy upwelling as a calculated 396 W/m^2 black body impossible.

The GHE is failed science and Catastrophic Anthropomorphic Global Warming a fear mongering political and social power grab.

If 2,700 UK citizens died from heat strokes then the Labor government is at fault. There was no reason for any of those deaths. It is the Labor government who are denying people air conditioning. For what reason? They claim climate change and to achieve net zero. Only the government is concerned about Net Zero, not the people they supposedly serve. They work for the people, not the other way around. The UN wants control of the world governments and they don’t care how many people they have to murder to get it and bribery works in every government.

BBC has a long history of heavy bias. In the late 60s and 70s the BBC went into N Ireland with the view that the majority community (being basically conservative), were evil and so news programmes told lies, went with obvious lies and never changed. So most of what you thought you knew about it is not true.

When trouble flared in Sri Lanka, the BBC immediately knew the majority population were evil and for almost 3 weeks ignored the real horrors going on. Then newly-minted Channel 4 went there and very soon we learned about the horrific and heart-breaking events that led to the trouble – it changed everything!

By the way, Channel 4, in went on to expose the climate fraud by screening Martin Durkin’s “The Great Global Warming Swindle”. The globalists worked hard to destroy Ch 4 as honest reporting and now it is part of the blob. What a shame.

I’m surprised the BBC didn’t start peddling this nonsense within 48 hours of the temperature increase, but Canada’s consistently alarmist CBC has quickly swung into action on the same issue in North America. Except it’s conveniently omitting the fact that both Environment Canada and the US National Weather Service continue to identify the summer of 1936 as the hottest to have affected the continent in the last century-plus. Incidentally the overall population and the amount of industrial activity fueled by coal, oil, and natural gas were both far lower than they are today. Yet somehow the weather broke all heat records that year.

July 15, 2026 2:26 pm

Millions of British people holiday in Spain Italy Greece Portugal Turkey every year which have hotter temperatures that Uk HeatWave every year without dying . I remember flying into Greece at 4.00 am and temperature was 34C and 42C during the day . If someone has a stroke how do you know it’s caused by hot weather ? They can be very unpredictable for example the TV dermatologist known as Dr Pimple Popper recently suffered a stroke but has thankfully fully recover but she was a healthy looking woman , not overweight , and yet it still got her .

July 15, 2026 3:05 pm

600,000 peope die each year in the UK and the worst months are in the Winter. Roughly 90,000 people die each year during May and June and you want to find a way of attributing 2,700 deaths to the heat – and you use the word ‘may’. This and thousands of other examples is why there are those you call ‘climate deniers’.

This article and the one in the Guardian are just straight up f……g lies!

The mortality statistics for England and Wales show that for the vast majority of weeks this year deaths have been below expectation. There were three consecutive weeks this year where deaths were above expectations (not by a large figure just a little above). They were in April!!!. When the absolute hottest average temperature for any day was 14.1C and nobody is dying because of the heat.

In June one week was at average, one week was above average (slightly) and two weeks were below average. Deaths in June were below expectation overall. July has started out with deaths 2.8% below expectation. in England and Wales

The pattern for the year is the same as every other year (non-Covid). More deaths when it is colder and deaths reducing as temperatures ramp up.

Organisations and people just don’t seem to care that their blatant lies about the climate can be caught out so easily. They will carry on, knowing that the compliant media will not call them out over their lies.

It is absolutely astounding.
