The election of Donald Trump in 2024 looked like it brought an end to the previous administration’s radical environmental policies. America walked out on the global climate scammers, canceled green energy projects, and is still trying to claw back billions of dollars shoveled out the door to Democrat-linked groups in the waning days of the Biden administration. But one of the worst environmental policies of all, like a zombie, is still wandering around Washington. A spending bill that passed the Senate recently included a provision directing the Department of Energy to review the “carbon intensity” of American-made products and compare the CO2 emissions with similar products imported to the United States. Such provisions are how carbon taxes, or even carbon tariffs, come to life. What’s going on here? And can this be stopped?
The Heartland Institute’s Anthony Watts, Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will tackle this subject, plus other Crazy Climate News of the Week. Join us LIVE at 1 p.m. ET on YouTube, Rumble, X, and Facebook. Participate in the show by leaving your comments and questions in the chat.
Correction: the Zombie Senate. Walking cadavers. But still able to get drunk most of the time despite their morbid condition.
Story tip:
Stellantis announces today that they will take a $26B charge as the auto maker cuts back on electric vehicle production.
after it recalled 350,000 Jeeps due to the concern that the batteries would explode -so owners were advised not to park them in the garage (burning down the house) or even to charge them
no surprise – the Senate will vote for more taxes but decline to even consider a bill to protect election integrity and prevent democrat cheating
I recall the days when a voter had to present a voter registration card or photo ID to vote.
Last time I voted I only was required to state my name and confirm my address.
I was aghast. Anyone could have voted for me.
How does having a photo ID discriminate? You need a photo ID to drive a car. You need a Real ID to board an airliner. You need a driver’s license or photo ID and insurance card to see a doctor.
If someone needs a photo ID, give them a ride to Motor Vehicles. Non-driver photo IDs are available.
They call it an attempt to Federalize elections. I have not done a deep dive into what is proposed, but if it is truly Federalization it is un-Constitutional. If it is truly just standardizing ID and registration (including citizenship) requirements, then I am all in.
Oh, and mail-in voting? The loss of chain of custody is a valid concern. USPS is not election certified and the number of individuals handling the mail-in ballots is generally well over half a dozen. In the polling place, no one, no election official, nada, is allowed to handle your ballot until after it is completed and scanned by you so how is it acceptable that postal employees can?
Sorry. Red button was pressed.
Washington State has a mail-out/mail-in voting system. This has been partly in effect for many years and fully since 2011. I’ve not seen evidence that Washingtonians want to return to that system. My ballot — in a sealed envelope — gets dropped in a box at the County Court House. Mailed ballots are in a sealed envelope and if tampered with the security measures are compromised. Only election workers handle the ballots. We never “scanned” our own ballots. The rest of the States need to catch up.
Those trans-reality alarmists are slimy creatures.
The Bush faction of the Republican Party still has a suicidal tendency to suck up to greens, and need to be carefully watched (before you primary them).
