FP: COP27 Host Egypt Arresting Environmental Activists

Essay by Eric Worrall

COP27 will be unusually quiet, because the local protestors who usually show up to such events will likely all be in jail.

Egypt to Host Big U.N. Climate Summit While Muzzling Environmental Activists

In the run-up to hosting a major U.N. climate summit in November, Egypt has publicly touted its commitment to curb carbon emissions and framed itself as a leader in supporting the developing world’s adaptation to new climate shocks. But behind the scenes, the Egyptian government has cracked down on environmental activists in the country through harassment, intimidation, and arrests, according to interviews with environmental experts and a new report from an international human rights watchdog.

Egypt’s role as the host of the 27th U.N. Climate Change Conference, or COP27, is expected to shed fresh light on President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s widespread crackdown on the country’s civil society, including environmental advocates, posing a vexing foreign-policy challenge for major democratic powers seeking to advance ambitious climate goals even if it means cooperating with some of the world’s most repressive autocratic regimes. For U.S. President Joe Biden, the upcoming COP27 summit puts his human rights policy on a possible collision course with his climate policy.

“There’s this underlying tension between two supposedly different realms: human rights on one side and robust climate action on the other side,” said Richard Pearshouse, the director of environment and human rights at Human Rights Watch (HRW), an advocacy group. “Now we’re seeing that tension really play out.”

HRW released a new report this week accusing the Egyptian government of “severely curtail[ing]” environmental groups’ abilities to do their job, through harassment, arrests, and intimidation, forcing some activists to flee the country. Other environmental advocacy groups voiced concern that the Egyptian government is limiting the number of civil society groups that will be allowed to attend COP27 and tightly controlling planned protests, relegating only limited demonstrations in a cordoned-off area on the margins of the conference, which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula from Nov. 6 to 18.

The cited Human Rights Watch Report goes into further detail;

Egypt: Government Undermining Environmental Groups

COP27 Countries Should Press Cairo to End Restrictions, Enable Participation

“The Egyptian government has imposed arbitrary funding, research, and registration obstacles that have debilitated local environmental groups, forcing some activists into exile and others to steer clear of important work,” said Richard Pearshouse, environment director at Human Rights Watch. “The government should immediately lift its onerous restrictions on independent nongovernmental organizations, including environmental groups.”

In June, Human Rights Watch interviewed 13 activists, academics, scientists, and journalists working on environmental issues in Egypt. All have been involved in promoting, advocating for, and working on climate action in some capacity. Some currently work for nongovernmental groups. Others who did stopped for safety or security reasons or left the country. They spoke on the condition of anonymity for security reasons. Six other people declined to be interviewed, variously citing security concerns or that government restrictions had forced them to stop their environmental work.

Those interviewed described a sharp reduction in the space for independent environment and climate work since President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s government took office in 2014. They described  harassment and intimidation tactics, including arrests and difficulties travelling,  creating a general atmosphere of fear. These experiences mirror similar tactics pursued by Egyptian authorities against independent local and international groups more generally since 2014 as part of a relentless crackdown on civil society.

Others described being repeatedly held up for security checks and questioning at Cairo airport upon leaving or arriving, and sometimes prevented from leaving the country. One person described the harassment of their partners in the Egyptians Against Coal campaign, a popular but ultimately unsuccessful movement that emerged in response to the government’s drive to reintroduce coal to power cement factories from 2013.

Well I’m shocked – who could have predicted a military dictator with a vile human rights record would arrest people who might say embarrassing things about government policy, ahead of hosting a big international climate conference?

Let us hope President Biden stays true to his public policy of standing up for human rights, and finds time to draft a diplomatic letter to Egypt to protest the arrest and intimidation of local climate and environmental activists, in between Biden’s diplomatic missions to Saudi, Iran and Venezuela to beg for more oil.

Sorry peeps, this is an epic but touches upon what’s being talked about and also upon most of the readership.
Look after yourselves. OK?

Much talk of Biden and Greta..

Let’s start with this:
Headline:”Most Americans Over 50 Suffer Some Type of Joint Pain (Poll)from here
It’s talking about Arthritis, in all its manifestations

Arthritis is an autoimmune disorder – your own body is attacking itself.
Why:

  1. Because something else attacked it, relentlessly and mercilessly
  2. Your intrinsic immune system malfunctioned in that it did not have the resources to fend off the ‘something else
  3. It is overworked because of the destruction/removal of ‘protective things

1/ The ‘something else‘ is, in a nut-shell, Oxidative Stress.
That comes from 3 main sources, in order of importance/magnitude:

  1. The consumption of sugar in its various forms but really = Carbohydrate Food
  2. The consumption of things that have been ‘burnt’ – grilled protein (classically animal flesh) and smoking (tobacco/weed/whatever)
  3. Alcohol, whether drank, inhaled or rubbed into your skin

2/ The protective things are ‘bacteria‘ = bacteria that are/comprise our own personal biome. Generally reckoned to outnumber our own cells by at least a factor of 10.
e.g. Consider just your skin. It is alive/crawling/covered-with bacteria All The Time. Consider a space of one metre all around you, generally reckoned to contain 10’s if not 100’s of trillions of micro-organisms. That is just your own little bubble and there is no escaping it.

Take or do ‘the sniff test’ If that bubble ‘seems OK‘ then it is OK. Nothing in that bubble will hurt you and nothing resident upon you will neither.
(It is why after all, we actually have a Sense Of Smell)

But, if you burst that bubble by/or strenuously wash/clean/sterilise your skin with repeated (daily) bathing/showering and/or the constant use of ‘sanitizers’ – that leaves room for ‘Bad Guy Bacteria’ to get into your bubble and onto your skin.

Normally your immune system would see them and take them out but, if it’s busy elsewhere clearing away all the damage being created by Oxidative Stress, the Bad Guys will gain a foothold.
What damage they will do can only be guessed at and sure as eggs are eggs, once you or your system figures it out, they will adapt and change.

Have any pennies dropped yet concerning the recent episode of ‘the virus that shall not be named‘ – how almost every measure taken to combat it in fact made it worse?

Some parts of us, notably our brains, have their own immune system.
Should anything get in there, that system will work to protect the brain and will do it in ‘different’ or seemingly strange ways.
So it is with sugar, or Glucose (blood) sugar. It is a small molecule, can get and go anywhere it likes and is The Main Source of Oxidative Stress.
How our brain’s immune system works is by trying to physically shield the neurons from the sugar – manifested as ‘Protein Plaque’
Enter Modern Medicine that says ‘Protein Plaque in the brain causes Dementia. Wrong wrong wrong. The plaque is trying to protect, not to damage.
(Likewise plaque on the insides of large arteries)

So, enough pre-amble and back to the top
By age = 50 almost everyone’s immune system is falling apart and attacking them. By age = 60, make that 97%+++

Why, because our immune system is wrecked.
Why is that if not via ‘nutrient deficiency’ – it is not getting the resources it needs to do its job
This is of course, the real actual manifestation of the, as predicted, Mass Starvation and in turn that is a real effect of Soil Erosion.
Then Climate Change is a manifestation of that.

The missing nutrients are not difficult to find nor are they expensive, unless you are really rich and you want them to be expensive. “One Born Every Minute” etc etc

In any case, get some Vitamin C.
If there is anything wrong inside your mouth, fuzzy/furry teeth, wobbly teeth, gappy teeth, receding and bleeding gums, rotten teeth and or masses of expensive dentistry = You Are Borderline Scurvy. period.
Get some Vitamin C and munch down 250mg every couple of hours while you’re awake. Don’t worry, water is genuinely more toxic to us than Vitamin C.

For an experiment, find some water-soluble Zinc. Ideally Sulphate but Citrate will do.
Take a very modest amount (about 2mg actual Zinc metal) in some water and swish it around your mouth.
4 things may happen:

  1. It will taste really really horrible
  2. It will taste distinctly metallic
  3. It will taste of something but you cannot define it
  4. It will taste of nothing

If either #1 or #2 occur, that is = ‘Good’
You are OK for Zinc and just ‘keep on trucking
If either #3 or #4 occur (esp #4), buy some more of whatever stuff you used (Citrate is fine and very inexpensive) and help yourself to 30mg Zinc daily.
Once you can taste the stuff, cut back to 15mg daily.

(You recognise the main symptoms of Long (shall not be named)?)
That’s what ‘long covid’ is = Zinc deficiency

To help your heart and brain, do what you can to get enough Magnesium into yourself.
It’s been known for at least the last 100 years, human bodies need and use 10mg of Magnesium, daily and per each kilogram of bodyweight.
To the greater extent, Magnesium is what ‘marbles’ are made of:
As in the saying “Old Joe has lost his marbles

Also to hold marbles together, Vitamin B.
Find a 1000mg tablet of Vitamin B complex (8 pence each UK price inc tax), split it in half: one bit in the morning and the 2nd half at bedtime

To hold almost everything else together, find some real natural sea-salt or salt taken from inland salt-flats or seas. In this part of the world, Dead Sea salt is epic and…
Do Not Be Afraid Of Using It

Now do we see how Zinc works?
In deficiency we lose our sense of taste so what do we do, we add more salt to our food to get it back.
And if that salt was ‘natural salt’ or Sea Salt as salt always was – it will contain Zinc.
Ain’t that neat?
Yet what Modern Medicine does when it says ‘Avoid Salt’ is beyond bizarre and frankly, those people are homicidal in their actions if not intent.

Simply cut the booze and reduce the carbs as much as you can, try to get below 10% of calories from carbs.
very simple to reduce the carbs, simply gradually introduce yourself to saturated fat and your sugar consumption will gradually fizzle out.
It’s what butter was invented for.

After that, Do Everything You Can To Avoid Glyphosate.
That means almost all French Fries you find in reastaurants and take-aways and also: most all grain products.
Vast acreages of grain are dessicated pre-harvest using Roundup.
It is Real Actual Insanity in action.
It truly is and is powered by nothing other than $$$$$$
Sod the people that eat that shit.
So just don’t eat it.

After that, we all a have a little ‘pica’ inside of us and it will keep you straight thereafter.
‘pica’ = Ye Olde Englishe Worde for Magpie.
Learn to trust yourself.

From the article: “For U.S. President Joe Biden, the upcoming COP27 summit puts his human rights policy on a possible collision course with his climate policy.”

I didn’t know Biden had a human rights policy. Ask the starving people of Afghanistan if they think Biden has a human rights policy.

Biden does whatever it takes to advance the radical Left agenda. Human rights have nothing to do with it or him.

This doesn’t mean that the conference will achieve anything significant, as usual. Didn’t global per capita emissions keep increasing from between the 1st COP conference in 1995 and the 2016 one? And hasn’t the earth’s temperature continued to slowly rise up to today also? Meanwhile last year’s CO2 emissions worldwide reached their highest-ever level as a result of more coal being consumed as part of the economic comeback. This despite the fact that renewables registered their largest historical growth. This tells us one thing: wind and solar still can’t come close to supplanting fossil fuels as main or even significant energy sources. So when in doubt, depend on oil, coal, and natural gas, while COP supporters need to realize that not enough countries are following their suggestions or maybe those suggestions are ineffectual in the first place.
