“The consequences of climate change can exacerbate the risk of sexual & gender-based violence, especially those facing intersecting forms of discrimination including Indigenous women & girls,” tweeted Christine Clarke, the “Australian Ambassador for Women and Girls” on June 28, 2022. Clarke featured a video with her climate gender violence message.

Christine Clarke’s bio claims she “advocates for gender equality and the human rights of women and girls.”
“As we confront the climate crisis, women and girls’ human rights, must be at the center of our collective efforts. Climate change and its consequences can exacerbate the risks of sexual and gender-based violence. This risk is most acute for women and girls facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination and inequality, including indigenous women and girls,” Clarke explained in the video she posted.
“We stand with Pacific women and girls in responding to the climate crisis, including by providing negotiator training to support woman delegates from Pacific island countries to represent their countries in international climate change meetings,” Clarke said.
She added, that “women and girls’ human rights is an important part of securing the future of our planet and a better future for us all” and “addressing violence against women and girls in the context of climate change and the women’s peace and security agenda.”
Clarke was appointed to this position on January 31, 2022, by the Australian Government: “Today I announce the appointment of Ms. Christine Clarke CSC as Australia’s next Ambassador for Women and Girls. Promoting gender equality, the rights of women and girls, is a priority for Australia. As Australia’s Ambassador for Women and Girls, Ms Clarke will work to ensure that gender equality, and empowerment of women and girls, is a central focus of Australia’s diplomatic, development, and regional security efforts,” Australian Senator the Hon Marise Payne wrote.
“Prior to commencing in the role of Ambassador for Women and Girls, Christine Clarke worked with the Pacific Gender Section in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on Reserve Service following completion of her lengthy full-time Navy career in June 2021.

Climate Depot analysis:
This is not the first time climate and sexual violence and/or rape have been linked. In 2013, United Nations IPCC Contributing Author Solomon Hsiang a public policy prof. at U. of Calif., Berkeley, co-authored a study in the journal Science claiming the following: ‘The study found that the rate of interpersonal violence, including assaults & rapes, increases 4% for every ‘standard deviation change in climate toward warmer temps or more extreme rainfall.” Intergroup conflict rises 14%’
UN IPCC’s lead author Dr. Richard Tol also ridiculed the study in 2013, asking, “How long before a rapist argues ‘I’m innocent, climate change made me do it?” Tol added, “Climate change will not turn us all into rapists and murderers.”
Here are some Twitter replies to Clark’s linking of climate change and rape:
“50 years from now when historians look at why the Western Empire fell, they will look at videos like this and realize we voted incompetents into public office. This is what happens when your notes get mixed in with another topic.”
“Its competition to see who can say the most ridiculous thing out there folks.”Translated as, “I’ve got to justify my salary with a word salad speech filled with popular cliches so I can get back to doing nothing”
“That’s the strangest word salad I’ve heard for ages. Is this a parody?”
“You’ll need a chiropractor after the acrobatics you’ve performed trying to link the two topics.”
“It means that the ice caps melting will cause you to attack your wife. Just roll with it, it’s science.”
“Is there anything that’s not claimed to be ‘consequences of climate change?’”
“Progressivism 101: Leverage fear and grievances to achieve more government control.”

This woman needs to fired on the spot, she is an incompetent fool.
Climate Change. What can’t it do?
Disappear, apparently.
These are the type of people we’ve been collectively voting for or having appointed to administration by other wing-nuts we collectively voted into office. Pay attention. We still have democracy and we can still fire the idiots and hire those with critical thinking skills and integrity.
It seems to be a constant – no matter how bonkers the politicians that get elected, they will always find people far more bonkers to make themselves look sane and competent by comparison.
Climate change has replaced the full moon as the most noted cause of human aberration.
Can she direct her staff to make a flow chart that shows how it begins with climate change and ends with rape?
Would that chart step out a deductive process or an inductive process?
(or would the whole thing just disappear up its own orifice at an early stage in the flow?)
Christine Clarke’s bio claims she “advocates for gender equality and the human rights of women and girls.”
You can have either one or the other, not both. Either men and women are equal, or they get special recognition for bearing children.
What “climate crisis”?
Yeah, really. What climate crisis? That’s the question.
You know – the one that begins next year….

THE DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF By Molière
Translated by Brett B. Bodemer
So old school…
Now Lucinde would be mute because of unregulated climate.
World is full of half baked wackos. Not worth wasting serious climate commenters time on. blah blah … but from the commentes here appears that a lot of WUWT followers are just more of the blogosphere blah blah interested in this sort of banter. Get serious.
Then again, one can begin to take oneself a bit too seriously Danley.
Just sayin’
If all “women”‽ were like her.
There would be very few rapes or sexual assaults.
Question 1 –
Is that because intending rapists now have to stop in their tracks and firstly determine if their intended victim meets whatever the current definition of a “woman” is?
Question 2 –
Will intending rapists have to consult a biologist to correctly categorize their intended victim as a “woman”?
Question 3 –
Is there an app for this?
Question 4 –
Should these matters be referred to the SCOTUS for a ruling?
Obviously twitters fact-checkers are broken as they have missed this false information.
Yeech. That put me off my breakfast.
More climate change BS but many of us should be use to it by now.
There is clearly no relation towards rape victims per 100,000 population and how relatively warm or cold a country is.
One example with a country next to the lowest rapes per 100,000 (0.11).
“Egypt’s climate is dry, hot, and dominated by desert. It has a mild winter season with rain falling along coastal areas, and a hot and dry summer season (May to September). Daytime temperatures vary by season and change with the prevailing winds.”
Highest (92.93) Botswana
“Temperatures for the country are generally warm to hot, with mean monthly maximum temperatures ranging from 29.5ºC to 35ºC summer, and 19.8ºC to 28.9ºC in winter. Mean monthly minimum temperatures range from 14.6ºC to 20.8ºC in summer, and 2.9ºC to 11.6ºC in winter.”
https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country
Clearly, by extension, everything causes everything else
The (very tiny) bit of truth in this is that, when young girls have to go further to fetch water, they are more likely to be raped. They are further from a possible defender.
The solution to this, of course, is to use the wonders of modern civilization to bring the water closer to the homes of these girls, if not right into them. The thing is, those wonders are ALL made possible only with the wide availability of hydrocarbons (to make and power pumps, to make and lay PVC piping, etc.).
wo,
By reverse causality logic, such women will benefit from a wetter climate that requires them to walk shorter distances for water supplies.

There is government money to be made, in Australia, if you can include words such as “because of climate change”, whether it’s a journo report, wild life documentary etc.
Okay but can she define the word ‘woman’.
And they have got you:
To enter this debate is to accept the whole global warming scam and join an argument about where to place the deckchairs.
Clearly another example of someone not at the front of the queue when they were handing out intelligence.
I fear for the future of the Australian residents if that level of ignorance is on public display from an official too stupid to realise being ridiculous and thus ridiculed, on social media is not a positive situation for them.
So as to be fair and not appear to single out our Antipodean cousins, in the moronic politician stakes. I attach a link to one of the UK’s best known Labour Party ex shadow ministers giving her opinion on the BBC broadcast live.
As we must always do these days we give a warning to would be viewers and listeners and readers some may be offended as this link involves Diane Abbott.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/07/03/diane-abbott-claims-boris-johnson-rumoured-like-assaulting-women/?WT.mc_id=e_DM6260&WT.tsrc=email&etype=Edi_FAM_New_ES&utmsource=email&utm_medium=Edi_FAM_New_ES20220704&utm_campaign=DM6260
Oh no, not bloody Diane Abbott again – I’m torn between crediting her with being incompetent and unable to utter a comprehensible argument or give her the benfit of the doubt and say that her diabetes has made her unfit to be an MP and unable to hold a rational conversation. Either way she really is a damned liability and a complete waste of space. She and comrade Corbyn should have been kicked out of Parliament years ago.
sadly the indignant indigenes and the miniscule% claiming warped as good will be right behind this
Actually the world needs a NEW webpage
I think OVINE would be a good name
and they can BLEAT not tweet
One interesting thing about this statement (apart from the obvious nuttiness on global warming and its effects) is how the term ‘gender’ is being used.
Various enthusiasts have at different times claimed there were varying numbers of genders in humans. An Irish senator for instance claimed the number was nine. Activists in the UK have claimed there are over 100. I’ve also read someone who said there were three. Facebook at one time listed all the genders it recognized, and from memory there were about 80. Short of 100 anyway, but well north of two or three.
However, in this piece, and in some of the comments on it, ‘gender’ seems to be used as a synonym for ‘sex’. Consider this extract:
Promoting gender equality, the rights of women and girls, is a priority for Australia. As Australia’s Ambassador for Women and Girls, Ms Clarke will work to ensure that gender equality, and empowerment of women and girls, is a central focus of Australia’s diplomatic, development, and regional security efforts
It seems from this that women and girls are a gender, presumably the female gender. It is true that in most of the material about genders which lists them, male and female are absent. But when it comes to specific policy issues, gender is now increasingly being used as a synonym for what we used to describe as sex.
The question to ask Ms Clarke is: is she appointed to promote the equality of the sexes or of the genders, and what is the difference between them?
My impression is that as it comes down to policy, the very expansive concept of gender, the idea of there being tens or hundreds of them, has become unworkable.
One reason for this is that if people are being offered gender confirmation procedures, for this to make any kind of sense there have to be male and female genders. It is obviously impossible for current medical procedures to be argued to be confirming a ‘free spirit’ gender, for instance.
So people have started to use a weak form of the concept, where the difference is that there are two genders just as there were two sexes, but the female gender, unlike the female sex, includes everyone who claims to be of it. It has no biological reference. Similarly for the male gender of course.
The piece, and similar announcements, show there is a radical conceptual confusion at the heart of current gender ideology.
in high school in the early 70s we were told we would be treated equally, by law.
well 50years on and we still dont get same pay for the same work, women got offered super much later than men if at all etc etc etc
until we DO all the waffle like this daft bint is just hot air and platitudes
as an aussie woman all i can say is. I am SO embarrassed and ashamed of crap like this getting any airtime or credit in any way!
making ridiculous claims like this DEMEANS the entire cause shes supposed to be supporting, makes it an object of ridicule
(and the ridicule for the climate claim made IS deserved)
As a mere breeding person, Clarke should be made to seek the opinion and authorisation of Lia Thomas et al before presuming to speak for women. Bit rude if you ask me.
If everything can be attributed to climate change
then nothing can be attributed to climate change.
Any special interest can hitch its wagon to climate change. Synergy…
“Professional climate alarmist” Tim Flannery is Missing in Action. Not a peep out of him about the present flooding in Sydney. The government also appears to be silent about blaming the floods on climate change. Could it be that Australia has always been a land of floods and droughts and always will be? Perhaps Christine Clarke needs to watch the news reports and revise her climate views?
