Obama Installing 2500 Gallon Propane Backup at Marthas Vineyard

Essay by Eric Worrall

h/t Scissor; In a resounding vote of confidence in our new green energy age, President Obama is installing enough propane backup to provide an entire winter of energy independence for his Martha’s Vineyard Holiday Home.

New Fossil Fuel Fan: Obama Orders 2,500-Gallon Propane Storage For Vacation Home

Earlier this month, the town of Edgartown, Massachusetts received an application for an underground propane tank installation at Obama’s estate, consisting of two 1,000 gallon-tanks and one 500-gallon tank, to be used for “residential purposes.”

“We’ve never had a private propane tank come to us,” said a member of the town’s review board. Typical residential storage for back-up generators is 100 to 500 gallons.

At a time when his successor’s economic war on Russia is wreaking havoc on the world and the U.S. economy teeters on the edge of an abyss, Obama’s 2,500-gallon scheme suggests he wants his 6,900-square-foot, seven-bedroom house to be ready for many weeks of energy independence at a time.

Is there a zombie apocalypse nobody told us about? Maybe Obama noticed something others didn’t, last time he visited the White House.

Whatever the explanation, installing more propane gas storage than some service stations, at his seaside villa, is what I consider a real vote of confidence in our green energy future, which President Obama did so much to make happen.

Obama is likely doing this for power generation to avoid power outages.
He has, or will have, a fully automated, whole house generator (25KW or more) powered by the propane so that when the grid goes down he will be fully operational and living large.
It is very common now. Many people with the means to do so install generators. They are fully automatic, quiet, reliable and relatively affordable. But they are usually hooked up to Nat Gas or propane already servicing the home.
Obama is spending much more to add the underground tanks.

It’s look-the-other-way propane for the media.

At least he doesn’t have his “head in the the sand” on the need for more fossil fuels for the winter.

“Toe clips, Joe, toe clips.”

The secrete service guy on the bike behind him failed to remind him.

Says Biden, after the fall, “Any of you guys ride bikes? Well, they have some that have this thing you put your toe in, it restrains your foot so it doesn’t slide off the pedal. I was getting off the bike, and it got stuck on the right side.”

As a result, he will lean even further left.

(Training wheels Joe, training wheels.)

What a con job of a President.

It was always a dream from my father to install his own personal 2500 gallon propane tank. Sadly, all he had could do was to use natural gas. But that was before it was evil.

Using Natural gas from a utility supplier is still way cheaper than propane on a BTU per dollar basis.

Yep. But my NG bill is now triple what it was last winter. I can tell just by the bill for the pilot light.

Isn’t Obama concerned that the rising sea levels will wash away the house and the tanks?

No.
Not concerned about SLR
Not concerned about hurricanes getting stronger or more frequent
But he is obviously quite concerned about the power grid becoming unstable.

I just ordered propane from my local company for $7.40/gallon. Round numbers, his tanks will take about 2,000 gallons, so about $15,000 to fill once. He can do that just by gaslighting an audience for five minutes. Must be nice.
