The climate nuts hurt their cause as much or more than they help it. And their own words doom them to ridicule and irrelevance.
Enter Peter Kalmus, a climate scientist making a living at taxpayer expense. He has been a go-to voice regarding the April 6, 2022, “Scientist Rebellion” event where over 1,000 scientists in 26 countries risked arrest to “warn the world.”
Kalmus glued himself to the entrance of Los Angeles’s Chase Bank headquarters and got arrested. The story is told here:
“The scientists of the world are being ignored and it’s got to stop,” said Peter Kalmus, a California-based father of two and NASA climate scientist. “We’re going to lose everything. We’re not joking. We’re not lying and we’re not exaggerating.”
Kalmus delivered an emotional plea at the doorway of the JP Morgan Chase building in downtown Los Angeles. He was arrested with colleagues who chained themselves to the bank’s doors. Kalmus wrote an op-ed about his experience for The Guardian [excerpted below].
“If everyone could see what I see coming,” Kalmus wrote, “society would switch into climate emergency mode and end fossil fuels in just a few years.”
Problem is that Kalmus is an outlier–a politico in science clothing. Rational, sober, open-minded scientists see his dire views as iffy–and at odds with pubic policy in a rational world. He does not understand such fundamentals as energy density and intermittency–and he seems to not want to acknowledge the case for global lukewarming and benefits of CO2 emissions.

What can the rational say to one Peter Kalmus?
- Check your deep ecology premises.
- Study the history of Malthusian/neo-Malthusian scares and ask yourself: why believe me now?
- Understand the downside of climate exaggeration.
- Study plant physiology, not only climate science, to understand the benefits of CO2. Do the math on forced energy transformation to wind, solar, batteries.
And finally, avoid hunger strikes and self-immolation. Don’t pull a David Buckel, please. And if your civil disobedience turns into a felony conviction, please leave the taxpayer dole in the best interest for us taxpayers.
And in 2025 he’ll be telling us we need to peak in 2030. And then in 2030 … the goal posts will keep moving and moving.
He really needs to read and understand Miskolczi 2010. Adding more CO2 to the atmosphere will not cause any future warming. Not even luke warming.

Clearly the general view is the guy is not quite thinking straight.
Unfortunately, as we have seen in recent times the alarmist community do not value those who think straight. They have advanced the uneducated opinion of a juvenile, giving her open mike time at the UN at the WEF and even gave her editorial right over the BBC morning transmissions a couple of years back.
Clearly, if the movement called Climate Alarm are prepared to go to such lengths as that, we are not dealing with rational thinkers. Then we must not be surprised when a ‘scientist’ with issues is given freedom to spread his unsubstantiated anxiety and fear into the minds of our children.

As of 2017 China produces twice as much CO2 as the US link So i would suggest Mr. Kalmus and friends glue themselves to a structure in China. I’m sure the Chinese government will give them the attention they deserve. PS use superglue.

Excuse me, he is the one whining no crying about a climate emergency. Where is his proof? Mathematical models are not proof., garbage in garbage out. If you are going to cry about something provide proof. Otherwise STFU. The increase in CO2 since 1850 has been around 100 ppm . A slight increase of a trace gas. How the hell could this trace gas be causing a climate crisis? The thermo nuclear reactor called the sun controls the heat output to our planet and we know it’s cyclical.More output equals a warming planet less output causes a cooling planet. The rest is immaterial and is just noise. Simple common sense. It’s the sun stupid.

I frequently like to look at webcams from nature preserves in different parts of Africa. I see gazelles, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, crocodiles, hippos, hyenas, the occasional lions, and all sorts of birds. I’ve never seen anything that looks like “Earth breakdown,” I just see animals going about their lives in natural surroundings.
There are hundreds of nature webcams from all over the world. If Mr. Kalmus would start watching some of them, perhaps he could start backing away from the precipice of insanity that he appears to be teetering on.

Where I live in Arizona, temperature changes by 20 to 25 degrees almost every day from morning to night. Somehow, we not only all survive but a whole lot of people keep moving here. Go figure.

A truly delusional person. He is his own worst enemy. He is living a nightmare put there by the likes of Michael Mann and the many other charlatans who are trying to demonize CO2.
Wake up!, Mr. Kalmus. You have been duped. Your “evidence” for CO2-caused disaster won’t hold up in Court. Your being convinced of it existing means nothing without something tangible to back it up.
Evidence is what you need. Evidence is what you don’t have. You should focus on getting some evidence that will convince people that what you say is true. You haven’t done that yet. It ought to be easy if the evidence is so obvious, as you claim. But your “evidence” won’t stand up to scrutiny. That’s why people aren’t buying what you are selling.
