Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h/t Dr. Willie Soon; Mark April 1st in your diary as the day everything changes: Inspired by Suffragettes, Ghandi and Martin Luther King, Extinction Rebellion has announced their intention to recruit 2.3 million non-violent climate activists, to force real climate action.

Extinction Rebellion say they will mobilise 2MILLION protestors to take part in ‘largest act of civil resistance in UK history’ starting in April

  • Extinction Rebellion says it wants to recruit 3.5% of UK population to its cause
  • Group says its activity slowed during pandemic but targets 2022 for a comeback
  • XR wants to mobilise the ‘largest act of civil resistance in UK history’ next April

Extinction Rebellion has pledged to mobilise two million protestors to launch what it says will be ‘the largest act of civil resistance in UK history’ in April next year.

The environmental campaign group made the pledge today after criticising this month’s climate summit, claiming it did not go far enough to tackle the crisis.

The group said that the number of activists taking part in their demonstrations had dwindled during the pandemic but that they hoped to rely on record numbers in 2022.

In a video which draws on images of the Suffragettes, Ghandi and Martin Luther King, XR spokesperson Nuala Gathercole Lam calls for action and says: ‘When millions of people come together to demand change, governments have no choice but to act.

‘This is what’s needed now. Let’s do what works – prolonged, disruptive, non-violent civil resistance.’

My question: Given Extinction Rebellion’s unfortunate experience last time they tried to mingle with normal people, will the recruitment drive include East London? Or will they stick to recruiting from their base of posh upper middle class elitists?

Update (EW): Extinction Rebellion’s April Uprising Announcement. They forgot to mention the date of the uprising in the video, but you can see it in the video description.

Brexit had over 17 million supporters and that was touch and go so 2.3 million has no chance.

Quotereal climate action

What is this, What ‘real action’ can you do on weather let alone climate, which it’s patently obvious none of them knows what it really is anyway.

In fact, does ANYBODY really know what ‘climate’ is?

What do these people really want.
Really want

I refer yet again to the track ‘Loaded by Primal Scream’
Lyric:
Peta: Just what is it that you want to do?
Them: Well, we wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do
And we wanna get loaded and we wanna have a good time

fine. right. OK.
Everyone wants that.
What do you want that’s different, what’s the fuss all about?

If you’re single these are great places to get a date. There’s a reason cults are so popular.

In my comment (under moderation) on the talk by Roger Hallam, he says he wants to recruit people who are willing to lose their jobs, their homes and their freedom. Whether he’s willing to join them he didn’t say. But he sounds a bit like a modern-day David Koresh. You have to feel sorry for the poor gullible souls he recruits to his cause.

Well, isn’t that clever of them? I can only wish a highly localized blizzard to inflict itself upon them, no matter where they are. 🙂

Practice sessions for April have been going on already – as this gif shows:

Here is another example of the how XR understand how the world works, or this case the force exerted by a fire engine hose. Who’d of thought it would be that strong? Also, listen to the ‘narrator’ who keeps going with his ‘message’ even though there isn’t anything of any substance.

People can be very badly hurt by one of those. Unfortunately none of them were.

Isn’t the First of April, April Fool’s Day. How Appropriate.

Once again, comparatively affluent people who have only known material comfort for most if not all of their lives without having to work particularly hard for it if at all arrogantly inflict their political vanity upon those who do have to work go get by.

Once America gets “Universal Basic Income”, it will be inflicted with this insanity everywhere as well.

Eric, that is not an unreasonable suspicion. Millions more than before have been relieved of the burden of having to work in order to sustain basic human needs. And what has happened subsequently was entirely predictable; inflation, degraded economic efficiency, and social unrest. Many will choose a lower standard of living in exchange for the luxury of unencumbered free time. And then many will use that time to complain about how they don’t have as much as others seem to.

After a period of time, the whole country will start to resemble Portland.

It’s fitting that they’ve chosen April 1 for this event because they’re fooling themselves by believing it will cause either governments, consumers, businesses or industries from taking any more climate action than they were before.

Ghandi??

You mean this guy?

Also, while real world has – to our best knowledge – never nuked anyone, he never actually believed all the ‘People of Colour’ were equal and was, let’s be honest here, fairly racist.

Suffragettes used violence. Claiming them as role models is to play the Gender Card and wave ‘Woman’s Rights’ in people’s faces and ignoring the path they chose to take.

As for MLK? Again, quoting his name and ignoring his vision. Show me the parts in his vision where he called for smashing the state.

2 Million? They will be lucky to get 2 thousand.

What a suitable date; the festival of ‘All fools’. Should we resurrect the French custom of sticking a paper fish (poisson d’avril) symbolising gullibility, upon the protestors backs?

Surely this is the true joke, XR/Insulate Britain plan to pull this on April Fools Day. The mugs that turn up to participate are being (remarkably easily) fooled by organisers who actually reject the notion of CAGW, by shepherding them into actively making the Climastrophic Message as deeply unpopular as possible.

Don’t get mad at these flockwits, shake them by the hand and congratulate them on making the general public even more disdainful of the Corporate BS CAGW message.

They have no idea that a place called China even exists.

As if 2°C global warming, if it were to happen, would end life on Earth. Anything that XR calls the ‘truth’ is guaranteed to be false.
