China Claims Global Climate Leadership, Slams US Republicans for Obstruction

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

The Global Times, a mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, has criticised US Republicans for obstructing President Biden’s support for Chinese climate leadership.

China becomes a leader in global war against climate change

By Wen Sheng Published: Jul 25, 2021 03:24 PM

China unveiled last week a maglev transportation system capable of supporting train routes which can run at 600 kilometers per hour, the fastest ground vehicle in the world to date. Using electro-magnetic force, the country’s self-developed maglev train would be able to shorten a travel between Beijing and Shanghai to just 2 hours.

The system belongs to a great technology and engineering breakthrough which, together with China’s 40,000-kilometer-long high-speed railways crisscrossing the country, will significantly reduce air flights and long-distance auto driving – drastically cutting fossil fuel use and carbon dioxide emissions, key targets in the battle against climate change.

It’s time for all nations on this globe to get serious in mounting collective efforts to fight worsening climate catastrophe. The world did little during the past four years of former US president Donald Trump, whose administration refutes Earth’s atmospheric change calling it a conspiracy, although severe weather is causing an estimated $100 billion in economic damage to the US every year. Trump was more interested in fighting trade and technology wars than fighting a war to alleviate the world’s climate crisis.

The current Biden administration has vowed to do more than Trump, but his climate agenda and spending agenda is being obstructed at US Congress by the Republicans. Whether his much heralded $1.2 trillion infrastructure and climate bill could win the support of the legislators, remains uncertain after two months of debating and filibustering.

In summary, China has been a global leader in fighting global climate crisis, which is posing increasing and imminent danger to Earth’s atmospheric security, biodiversity, and the very survival of our humankind. The world ought to take even bolder moves to arrest a continuous deterioration of climate change, while dragging feet will only cause more atmospheric ruins and human deaths.

Why the sudden Chinese interest in climate change?

China has suffered two years running of severe flooding, so the leadership may be switching from arresting climate protesters, to viewing climate change as a convenient cover for their shoddy dam construction, and failed promises that all those expensive dams would help control flooding. For example, the following is a video of the disaster currently hitting Eastern China, a followup from the ongoing flood disaster in central China.

The benefit for the CCP blaming US Republicans for Chinese problems is people in China and some people in the USA might actually believe them; if the US mainstream media sides with China on this issue, it could bolster the CCPs increasingly tenuous credibility.

They spew out more CO2 than all G7 countries combned. The upcoming G20 meeting will be a bust – hope someone has this in presentations. Methane including all from coal mines chart supplying them needs emphasized as well.

It’s all about the money with big tech and others. Coca Cola human rights head just refused to disparage the evil CCP and Zi for reeducation camps and disappearing whistleblowers including for the Wuhan virus. Bet profits in China are the reason.

See list below for coal plants

This list is seriously out of date…

UK has just 3 plants, one after end 2022, last must close by October 2024, contributing just 2% of UK power.

in November 2020, the Philippines’ Department of Energy proposed a moratorium on new coal power plants which, according to analysis by GEM, could lead to 9.6GW of cancellations. The Philippine government is as of April 2021 looking to set up a fund to acquire all coal-fired power plants in Mindanao and shut them down in a bid to make the island heavily reliant on renewable-energy resources.

Coal-fired power generation in South Korea is expected to decrease by 23pc by 2030 from 2019’s level, under the government’s ninth basic electricity plan. South Korea’s last new coal power project in Gangwon Province is facing renewed scrutiny as civic activists called for a state audit against Korean financial institutions for allegedly overlooking and condoning risk factors in financing the private-led project, dubbed Samcheok Blue Power Plant.

It is difficult to confirm, but after several cancellations, it looks like there will be no more Japanese coal plants after 9 now building.

There isn’t a single new coal plant planned in the EU now (sorce: Coal Tracker)

and so on.

Let me know when China actually starts to do anything about it’s CO2 emmissions.

Motivation? Part Panda, but mostly money. Where do you think most of the “green” energy infrastructure actually comes from? Funny, the CCP has completely sided with the Democrat, making it clearly evident where they think their support derives from. Pretty ham handed.

The world did little during the past four years of former US president Donald Trump,

… and that is obviously Trump’s fault right. Because no one can do anything without US approval.

Hang on, who is “the world” ?

China got a free pass under Paris Accord to be increasingly effiecent at increasing the “carbon” emissions. That’s Obama’s tenure, not Trump.

India is a “developing nation” so they were given a free pass by Obama too. Same for lot’s of also rans, who don’t even count in the global accounting.

EU simply doubled down on the climate self-flagellation and economic suicide pact.

So how , exactly, was Trump to blame for any of this ???

In summary, China has been a global leader in fighting global climate crisis

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

What “crisis?”

And – LEADER? Assuming (1) imaginary “crisis” to (a) be real; and (b) said imaginary “crisis” to be caused by atmospheric CO2 levels; and (c) said atmospheric CO2 levels to be driven by human fossil fuel emissions, (NONE of which is demonstrable by any actual science) the self-proclaimed “LEADER” is the primary “driver” of the imaginary “crisis” however you slice it!

Next, China will award itself the award of the “country who is most kind to Muslims,” and the country which has the “fairest and most open markets.”

China is a “global leader in fighting the (imaginary) global climate crisis” in the same way that Phyllis Diller was the sexiest woman in the world.

China’s message is to useful fools (hundreds of millions of them in the West) who overlook what’s really going on in their adulation of the regime. China has found it’s impossible to burn up their political capital with these minions.

I fully agree. Climate change ain’t what it used to be. We must act now to restore climate change to it’s former glory.

Diurnal swing has been reduced by warmer nights. Seasonal variation has been destroyed by warmer winters. Massively less people are dying of cold.

This cannot be allowed to continue !

China has shown “global leadership” in emitting CO2 (and many other pollutants) into the atmosphere, more than the USA and Europe combined.

As for their claim about trains at 600 km/hr (about 373 mph), they might want to take a look at California’s Bullet Train To Nowhere to get an idea of cost. High-speed rail can be practical in some areas, but only with the following requirements:

1) Two heavily populated cities about 200 to 500 miles apart
2) Intervening terrain is relatively flat and sparsely populated
3) Necessity of overpasses or underpasses for all crossing roads
4) Necessity of fencing along tracks to prevent collisions with people or animals

High-speed rail has been competitive in some countries in Europe, mostly France, Germany, and the Benelux countries. The French TGV (“Train a Grande Vitesse”) system travels at about 300 km/hr, but special tracks had to be built to avoid sharp curves or steep grades, and all grade crossings were replaced by overpasses and underpasses. This is feasible for flat or gently rolling terrain, but the cost of bridges and tunnels becomes prohibitive in mountainous areas. Try to imagine a train traveling at 600 km/h along the Great Wall of China!

https://www.americaoutloud.com/chinese-communist-party-influence-in-our-universities-must-stop/

by Dr. Jay Lehr and Tom Harris Jul 27, 2021

“Imagine if your primary opponent in the world, a country that regularly steals high-tech military, industrial and medical secrets from you, was able to influence research in your universities solely for their benefit. Unless you had a national death wish, you would be crazy to allow this to happen. Yet this is precisely what is occurring across America right now.

China is actively undermining America’s economic and national security by funneling billions of dollars into elite universities such as Harvard, Yale, and Cornell to stoke the fraud of human-caused climate change, one of the Chinese Communist Party’s chief weapons against the United States of America. This is not mere speculation. The U.S. Department of Education has discovered evidence that it’s happening.”

end excerpt

First the radical Left takes over the school system and now the Chicoms are taking over the American Radical Left.

Human-caused Climate Change is Chicom disinformation. Trump was correct when he said it was a Chicom scam.

Trump supporters are just enemies of the radical Democrat State.

The radical Democrats think that means Trump supporters are against the U.S. No, Trump supporters are against the radical Democrats who are trying to destroy the United States. We don’t like that. We are going to do everything we can to prevent the radical Democrats from taking over this country. We are not going quietly into the night.

Open letter to the people of China the CCP:

So glad to hear that you are claiming global climate leadership. Have at it!

We, the rest of the world, look forward to following the example that you will set in percent reductions of annual carbon emissions. Waiting . . .

Most sincerely,
s/ The (intelligent) rest of the world.
