Biden Energy Nominee Jennifer Granholm: ‘Clean Energy’ Jobs Will Replace Ones ‘That Might Be Sacrificed’

27 Jan 2021Jennifer Granholm, President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the U.S. Department of Energy, insisted Wednesday that “clean energy” jobs will replace those that “might be sacrificed.”
Granholm’s remarks came during questioning from Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), who pointed out the significant loss of American jobs due to a long-term ban on oil, gas, and coal leasing and permitting on federal lands.

So far nobody has offered to pay the bills or guarantee the mortgages of the union workers whose livelihoods Biden just “sacrificed”.

Very few politicians really care about the interior of the United States. All most of them care about are the left and right coasts, where the votes are. Why would they care about thousands of jobs lost in the Empty Quarter?
Killing the opportunities available to the public is NOT the role of the federal government. Stop killing jobs. You don’t destroy the livelihood of families and then say you will create some “shovel-ready” job at some point in the future. That is not the function of the federal government. Read the Declaration of Independence:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
You are destructive to our unalienable Rights when you destroy someones Right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. The Government is instituted to SECURE these Rights not trample them.
It seems that there will be no additional energy generated, no additional vehicles built, no real increase in economic activity at all beyond replacing one kind of thing with another. Yet we are to accept that this will result in millions of new “green” jobs.
When did it become a good thing to significantly reduce productivity in return for jobs?
