Job Killer Joe’s Climate Team Promises to Replace the Fossil Fuel Jobs they “Sacrifice”

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Perhaps it might have been a good idea to create these promised new green jobs, before destroying the old jobs?

Biden Energy Nominee Jennifer Granholm: ‘Clean Energy’ Jobs Will Replace Ones ‘That Might Be Sacrificed’

KYLE MORRIS
27 Jan 2021

Jennifer Granholm, President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the U.S. Department of Energy, insisted Wednesday that “clean energy” jobs will replace those that “might be sacrificed.”

Granholm’s remarks came during questioning from Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), who pointed out the significant loss of American jobs due to a long-term ban on oil, gas, and coal leasing and permitting on federal lands.

So far nobody has offered to pay the bills or guarantee the mortgages of the union workers whose livelihoods Biden just “sacrificed”.

There seems to be a lot of reference to “union” jobs. Biden declared “we will create new Union Jobs.” Others are lamenting “thousands of union jobs are being destroyed.” As a Brit, I am baffled. What’s the biggy whether a job is union or not. I’ve never heard anyone in the UK use the prefix “union” to describe job losses or job gains. Is this an ideological thing or something?

It’s an emotive word used to cover up the fact that you are lying. It’s an argumentative fallacy but I forget its exact name.

Nah, he s hoping if he says Union jobs enough, they won’t get mad at him for eliminating their jobs. Sort of like saying “yeah, we are going to screw you but we WILL use a lubricant first”

Unions support Democrats. More power to unions means more money to Democrats.
The only people who have ever benefited from unions are those who run the unions, and those politicians who support those who run unions.

I heard a Union supervisor earlier this week on the radio – he was broken up about being laid off and having to deliver the news to all his workers that they were also laid off, something like 100 of them I think he said. His Union had endorsed Biden.

When challenged on it, he continued to support his Union.

I don’t feel sorry for him. He STILL hasn’t learned, even though he’s been personally affected. Until he does, he’ll continue to support those who would harm him.

I really can’t understand that mindset.

At one time, pre-OSHA for instance, union did provide a useful function in changing working conditions for all kinds of workers. Since the 50’s however, the typical union leader has become more focused on destroying employers and lining their pockets. That’s why union membership has fallen so badly over the past 20 years – they provide nothing to the common man.

Nice myth, unfortunately no truth to it.
The reality is that worker safety has been improving for as long as they have statistics on the matter. The only impact that OSHA had on this long term trend was to slow it down a bit, as companies had divert money to filling out the paper work.
Union leaders have always been primarily concerned with lining their own pockets.

Every single claim that has been made to justify unionism has been shown to be nonsense.
Unions had nothing to do with reducing the length of the work week. Productivity growth did that, and has been doing that since long before the first union.
Unions had nothing to do with increasing wages. Productivity did that as well and wages were rising long before the first union was formed.
Unions have been bad for workers since day one. It’s just that like cancer, it was a problem that started small and grew fast.

If you had ever worked in a sweat shop or a coal mine you wouldn’t say this. Why don’t you lay out some claims made for unions that have been shown to be nonsense?

Perhaps you don’t realize it but guilds performed as quais-unions and guilds lasted for a long, long time. I would also point to the qualifications you have to meet to become a journeyman in many unions. That’s not to say that you *have* to be a union member to garner the same qualifications but the unions at least establish a baseline.

If you’ll notice I agree that the union bosses became corrupted, especially after the 50’s and 60’s. But that has nothing to do with the gains the unions made for a lot of workers.

“There seems to be a lot of reference to “union” jobs.”

To Biden and the Democrats only union jobs are good jobs.

Biden and the Democrats get lots of donations from labor unions, that’s why they always emphasize “union” when they speak about jobs.

Unions are declining in numbers, so Joe’s powerbase is getting smaller.

Which is why Democrats always try to change the laws to force more people to join unions, whether they want to or not.

For every barrel of oil they leave in the ground – and the jobs that go with it – they will import a barrel of oil from a country that does much less in terms of the environment. It’s pure fantasy to think the oil will be replaced by wind and solar.

My brother lived and worked in Mexico City 40 years ago. He still tells the tail of watching three Mexicans with slegehammers, picks, and shovels tearing down a building while travelling to his work location. This literally went on for months. When he asked the people at work why they didn’t bring in a bulldozer and dump truck and complete the job in a couple of days they told him “but then what would the workers do for a job?”.

This silly Leftist NEWSPEAK canard of “green jobs” available for the forcibly unemployed oil and gas workers is as fake as the CAGW scam.

There ARE no “green jobs” for the millions of Americans who will eventually be unemployed from the unintended consequences of Clueless Joe’s insane Neo Green New Deal.

Fossil fuels are the life blood of the US economy.

It is utter lunacy to believe wind and solar (and the 100% immediate backup power they require) can miraculously replace fossil fuels, especially if it’s impossible to build new nuclear power plants, as is currently the situation…

Clueless Joe’s ”Build Back Better” actually means Build Back Stupider…

Leftists are going to absolutely destroy the US and the world’s economies if they aren’t voted out in the midterm elections..

it’s like living in a nightmarish cross between a Kafkaesque and Orwellian novel..

These idiots are completely insane.

I’m sure you’re familiar with Einstein’s famous definition of insanity which goes, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

if that doesn’t define a Leftists, I don’t know what does…

Leftism is an evil and immoral philosophy that literally robs people of their property, freedoms and individual inalienable rights…

it’s based on exploiting human’s worst emotions of: hate, envy, resentment, avarice, revenge, cowardice, and covetousness..

it has never worked as history has so clearly shown in tragic detail.

We must not blame Biden who is simply a puppet on a string. We must blame the foolishness and self-interests of most politicians, the naivety of voters and the flood of deceit from the media. None of them want to reason carefully and discuss frankly the benefit of adapting to climate changes, economics and hard work, upholding law and order, promoting individual responsibility, holding politicians accountable, exposing slander and defamation in the media.

When I think of Climate Change I think of corruption, income distribution, misery and greed at the cost of the ability of people to feed their families. I guess I missed those millions of “Green” jobs Obama created in those 8 years at the cost of millions of dollars in subsidies. These efforts bleed us they do not feed us and these evil, corrupt, pandering bastards know it. But since it makes them more influential and wealthy they do not care. And they pander to people so ill informed, weak or feckless as to have signs in their yards that read “kindness is kindness.” And but for the corrupt, evil establishment media this would not be possible. I don’t believe there is any way the white suburban women in my neighborhood conceive of the pain and misery being inflicted on their fellow Americans. They believe they have restored “kindness” because “no human is illegal” and “water is life”. And their evidence to allow their contentment is that CNN no longer tells them about any meanie, mean tweeting President Trump did yesterday. OMG, some days it’s too much.

Perfect. Kerry wants them to make solar panels. Which means he wants to send the workers to China where they’ll likely work for a few cents a day and be forced to return their Covid masks so they can be resold in America. Which, in turn, makes room for the Dems Real Workers – the “migrants”, formerly called “illegals” as part of their Green Card Highway to votes for 2024.
Just the new normal.

There’s a reason why Democrats are completely opposed to having someone prove they have a right to vote before being put on the voting rolls, as well as being completely opposed to having someone prove who they are before voting.

And it has nothing to do with ensuring an honest election.

ResourceGuy

Kerry and Joe are speaking in political tongues. What they mean is continuous subsidy for the UAW making EVs and batteries. In the solar biz they aim to benefit the high cost rooftop install segment and other small-scale developers with the most lobbyists and count the temporary jobs at utility scale projects like they are full time. Competitive solar panel production itself is done in highly automated factories in China and to a lesser extent the U.S. Sunpower could not compete on a cost per watt basis and closed its factory in Oregon. They knew Joe was not thinking of helping them when they took that action.

I’m sure there are naïve liberals willing to believe these lies and media sycophants that will trumpet them.
The democratic party is built on lies supported by three constituencies:
1. The ignorant people who vote for them to get “free” money.
2. Academia and the media who rake in the bucks by capitalizing and reinforcing the ignorance of group 1 above.
3. Big business which benefits from the consumer hating policies of the democrats which have been designed to line their pocketbooks.

This notion that “green” jobs making “solar panels” will take up the slack created by destroying energy production is absurd. The truth is that PV module production lines are highly automated because labor costs have to be kept to a minimum in order to compete and make a profit.

These people are lying morons.

The BLS Even confirms it:

But when you click on the details, the increase from 2020 to 2029 is 10,400 Jobs.
