From the “climate change is ubiquitous and omnipotent” department comes this desperate attempt to capitalize on a social crisis. I think the most likely reason this PR exists is that people aren’t paying much attention to climate change, so they are trying to be “relevant” in today’s brick-throwing activist street narrative. See our previous story on the topic.
Climate activists have been trying to link racial inequality, poverty, famines, wars, refugees, and just about anything socially problematic to “climate change” for years in an attempt to make it more “relevant”. Only the low-information types actually swallow that kool-aid.

| For Immediate Release: June 2, 2020 Contact: Subhan Cheema Climate Power 2020 Statement on Racial Justice Washington, D.C. – Today, Climate Power 2020 issued the following statement: “We stand in solidarity with those demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the untold number of Black individuals murdered because of systemic racism and white supremacy in this country. “From police brutality to discriminatory housing laws, from a corrupt legal system to contaminated drinking water and polluted air, our country has been built upon racist systems that we must all work together to break down. “Climate justice is racial justice, and all those dedicated to fighting for a just America must stand together in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. “This year is the defining moment for our nation. We must do the work to empower our leaders to intentionally take the actions necessary to dismantle these racist structures and build a just and equitable future. We must also hold individuals, like Donald Trump, who further injustice and incite violence accountable. “If able, we encourage you to support the organizations on-the-ground fighting racial injustice: Black Visions Collective, The Liberty Fund, The Freedom Fund, the Bail Project, and other organizations dedicated to creating systemic change.” Climate Power 2020 is putting the Trump administration on defense every single day for ignoring experts, refusing to believe in science, surrendering our government to big oil executives, and gutting public health protections, all at the expense of future generations. The 2020 presidential election is the defining moment for how our nation addresses the climate crisis—our leaders must be emboldened to take immediate action on climate change and to build a just and equitable economy. The time to act is now. Learn more: climatepower2020.org |

From the article: ““We stand in solidarity with those demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the untold number of Black individuals murdered because of systemic racism and white supremacy in this country.”
This is the poison that the Left pushes on the nation.
There is no evidence of systemic racism. For every unjustified killing of a black person, there are many more such killings of white people. Some by Black cops, but we don’t charge them with racism. It doesn’t even rate a headline.
Just like other propagada, if you repeat “systemic racism” long enough and loud enough, some people will buy into it.
There is no denying there are racists among us, and they can be found among all racial groups. But there is no evidence that “the system” is driving any racism. These are lone-wolf psychos. They are not involved in a conspiracy to hold Black people back, or worse. There is no such conspiracy. That’s a Big Lie.
Most of the “unjustified” killings aren’t as “unjustified” as the protesters make them out to be.
That’s true, and whether they are justified or unjustified is for the courts to decide, not a mob. Although George Floyd’s case looks cut and dried.
Each circumstance is different and a judge and jury are the ones to decide. Justice is served when the jury decides. They don’t always get it right, but most of the time they do, and there are appeals that can be filed about any jury decision.
Our laws will work if given a half a chance.
It is reported that all four police officers involved in the killing of George Floyd are now criminally charged.
A brief but complete summary of the whole of the climate power 2020 website.
“Donald Trump bad.
Climate science good.”
… in so many breathless buzzwords and phrases.
Here is a current banner headline on the Fox News Channel:
“Riots Blanket Streets of American Cities”
Now, at the present time no riots are taking place, although there are a lot of demonstrators out and about, but no riots yet.
Yet, here we have Fox News Channel of all things, spreading fear and panic and completely distorting the current situation.
And they have had similar headlines running all day long, and are showing scenes from yesterday and talking about them as though they are happening now.
I don’t know what they are thinking but they are spreading misinformation which might encourage some to take part in riots who otherwise might not if they didn’t see a false headline saying it was blanketing American cities.
Fox News is disappointing me. Why would they blow the situation out of proprtion like this?
We need to keep our heads, when all those around us are losing theirs, even if it’s on the Fox News Channel.
Quoting myself: “Now, at the present time no riots are taking place, although there are a lot of demonstrators out and about, but no riots yet.
Yet, here we have Fox News Channel of all things, spreading fear and panic and completely distorting the current situation.”
It looks like the riots *have* calmed down considerably. I’ve been watching Fox News for the last two hours and they have not reported on any violent incidents that took place last night, so I assume there was not much to report on. Instead, Fox News keeps talking about what happened yesterday, as if it is still happening today.
It’s almost like they want to keep the bad news in people’s heads and ignore the more recent good news.
We have to hold the right wing accountable for their actions just like we do the left wing. If they distort the truth, then we have to call them on it.
I don’t think it’s such a terrible misstep to say “Riots blanket American cities,” since that’s exactly what’s been happening for days. Sort of pushes everything else off the front page, y’know?
Why do you assume that the headline is referring to present.
It makes much more sense to assume that the headline is past tense.
Your eagerness to find fault with Fox has caused you to make a fool of yourself.
“Riots Blanket Streets of American Cities”
Why wouldn’t I assume that refers to the present? I don’t read the above as past tense.
In your opinion, it makes more sense to see it as past tense. You are welcome to your opinion.
I’m not eager to find fault with Fox News Channel, I’m complaining about their leftwing tilt.
They are pushing the leftwing narrative on their banner headlines and their text that scrolls across the bottom of the screen. I assume since they acquired new leftwing upper management that this leftwing way of looking at the world is seeping into the Fox News Channel, and I don’t like it.
We have enough leftwing lies on tv as it is.
Ave a read of this Tom see what you can see, taken from a mixed article on the BBC
Far-right activists charged with inciting violence
Three alleged far-right activists in Las Vegas have been charged with trying to exploit peaceful protests and incite violence, according to prosecutors.
According to the local prosecutor’s office, the three men are alleged members of the “Boogaloo” movement, which prosecutors describe as “a term used by extremists to signify a coming civil war and/or collapse of society”.
“Violent instigators have hijacked peaceful protests and demonstrations across the country, including Nevada, exploiting the real and legitimate outrage over Mr Floyd’s death for their own radical agendas,” US Attorney Nicholas Trutanich said in a statement.
“Law enforcement is focused on keeping violence and destruction from interfering with free public expression and threatening lives.”
The three men were apprehended late last month after attempting to use a molotov cocktail, officials say.
I’m not sure what point you are making, B d, but if they find righwing extremists involved they should arrest them and prosecute them, just like they should arrest and prosecute anyone else who is disrupting society.
Btw, rightwing extremists are very small in numbers and are not embraced by conservatives. Conservatives would codemn them just as fast as they would condemn leftwing radicals.
I’m doing that now.
My point Tom is the article is loaded
It opens claiming 3 right wing antagonists fueling the fire of riots in one place, ok that’s fine if it’s TRUE
Then the article refers to further wide spread riots across some cities in the USA without attributing any faction.
Then the article at the end refers to the right wingers again.
Its auto suggesting all the riots are caused by right wingers, its loaded to make people think in a particular way.
We already know the BBC is a left wing rag, and is forever attacking the American administration.
I get it now, B d. 🙂
A week’s a long time in politics. In Oz it was the drought then bushfires then Covid then lockdown now opening up while National Reconciliation Weeksters tried to piggyback off US BLM but not police lives matter-
https://www.reconciliation.org.au/national-reconciliation-week/
The MSM dramas and hysterics come and go but come election time we all look up briefly and get a feel for who to anoint among the choices at the time and then mark the ballot. Yep lots of things matter but what are the incumbents and hopefuls really gunna do about them all and where’s the money coming from? Don’t get too far out there with the vision splendid and the big promises or we’ll sense the BS and overreach with our hard earned. Politics is the art of the practical and a long hard slog and not many problems get sorted before evening news time much to the chagrin of all the expert pundits paraded before us. The impotent are always so pure.
“…all those dedicated to fighting for a totalitarian America must stand together in solidarity with the Marxist-Leninist movement.”
There, fixed it for ya.
How on earth can anyone use the phrase “believe in science” and not get laughed off the planet?
Look very few can actually follow the science in detail but that does NOT mean we just blindly believe one side or another. Belief is for religion NOT science. We also are not allowed to go with what “the majority of scientists say”. Consensus is for politics NOT science. So what do we go with? Predictions, predictions and more predictions. That is the scientific method in a nutshell.
Everyone can follow predictions. Copy, paste, save and check back later to see if it happened. Always get dates and values attached to the predictions. 2020 to 2040; Hotter? Colder? By how much?
Currently in France: pro-Macron, pro-EU, anti-Raoult types mock any person who believes HCQ might help with Covid, for allegedly using “polls” (of medical doctors) to come to that conclusion.
The same people who for years have been using polls of “climate scientists” to “prove” the climate science was “the consensus”, and also accomplished, mature, stable…
“We believe in science, Donlad Trump does not”
Perhaps you can enlighten us as to how you know what Trump believes? Are you psychic? Do you use a Ouija board.
Do you even know how science works?
In the case of these misbegotten goose-stepping cretins, that would be “no.”
Liberals know everything about everything.
If you don’t believe me, just ask them.
If they knew half as much as they think they know… they’d know twice as much as they do.
