Barf Challenge: Watch AOC Read the Entire Green New Deal Resolution

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Can you endure 20 minutes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez trying to look like she understands climate change, economics, manufacturing, farming and indigenous issues, without reaching for a sick bag or strong drink?

When the Green New Deal originally reached the senate, all the Republicans voted against, and Democrats voted “present”, allegedly in protest at Republicans forcing an early vote, but in my opinion more likely because they didn’t want to have to answer questions from their voters.

Occasio-Cortez seems to believe that the reason people oppose her brainchild is they don’t understand that if the GND is passed, everyone will have a guaranteed job, all native treaties will be honoured, everyone will have free healthcare and the nation will run on affordable 100% renewable energy.

Here in Australia, the Greens want to pass a bill to declare a Climate Emergency, which entails the declaration of marshal law to combat some existential threat . In this case, “climate change” has not even been defined-an unknown “enemy.” It has not even been debated. It is a blank cheque in terms of power. Note, under marshal law, freedom of speech disappears. It will be like a climate version of Hitler’s Enabling Act. Like Socialists in general, they seize power as quickly as they can (before people wake up that they were duped) and do not relinquish it.

It will likely pass the House of Representatives and could get through the Senate with a couple of CINOs (conservative in name only) voting for the Green lunacy. Zali Steggall will also be introducing a climate Bill.

Went to a rally on Sunday to hopefully hear Zali make an idiot of herself, but alas, no. What was startling was that it was a crowd of around 500-600 OLDER people-70s age group , worried for their grandchildren. This was in an affluent area! It is one thing to be a 5 year old sucked in by propaganda and fairy tales, but all these 70 year olds believing fairy tales?

It is up to us to wake people up that propaganda did not end with the defeat of Hitler’s military industrial complex. propaganda and brainwashing are alive and well-flourishing in fact.

In Australia, we need to get out of the bad habit of voting for the major parties-Liberal, Labor, Nationals and Greens are all a pack of traitors. Remember, they smear those they fear. Those that cop baseless smear are the ones the corrupt traitors fear.

Australians that regard themselves as patriots MUST be part of the political process. Join the party that you usually vote for to expel the traitors that are destroying it. You can also join and support One Nation. A strong One Nation presence will force the Liberals to move towards sanity without any political repercussions. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. It is up to us to maintain our freedom. Our elected representatives are failing us-badly.

Disclaimer-I am a One Nation party member. I will hopefully be creating a bit of kerfuffle at the next Federal election.

We should all get behind AOC and support her 110%. The ‘normal’ Democrats would be so horrified that they would probably begin impeachment hearings on one of their own, immediately. It is starting to get entertaining just watch them implode so badly…it is downright embarrassing. Maybe the thing we need to fear now is the sympathy factor, that people will feel so sorry for them that then maybe some support them. But I doubt it. Never have I seem such a bunch of losers all barking at once like a pack of Chihuahuas all yapping at once.

This is why I think Crooked Hillary will have to jump in at the Convention, (there is no credible Democrat candidate-or one that will still be alive or cognizant in 8-9 months) and she will have boatloads of cash in the SuperPacs to support her. But as soon as that voice of hers starts to get shrill, most will tune out, like fingernails on a chalkboard. (except New York and California and the other die hards) There isn’t any amount of money than can change this reality now. JFK would gave to come back from the dead to beat Trump, as things currently stand.

Donald Trump just has to throw on his ‘professional switch’ and not get baited into low life democrat hoaxes and ignore the low life stumbling blocks they throw out in front of him. That is the only thing that can go wrong now. Now is the time to to make some international deals (e.g. India-Israel) and maybe China and Russia for the best deal he can get, and show some real international leadership, the Art of the Deal. The world is hungry for over all real solutions right now with this virus panic, and not climate BS. Show us the money, and real leadership, and get everyone working on the same page and just make sure it is for the good of the working folk everywhere around the world, and he will be re-elected in spades. DJT is definitely a transformational President, and the next 8-9 months will shape the medium term future for the planet. If he can maintain the performance he displayed this past weekend, it is a done deal.

Honestly, as soon as I heard the sound of her voice I had to turn it off.
I heard no more than three words and it was too much as it is.
It offends me she is not only in congress, but is somehow about the only one we ever see in the press talking about science.
It is way beyond shameful.

It’s also pure political theater. Remember, last year this “Bill” went down in FLAMES–Republicans shot it down 57-0, not one Dem voted in favor though one or two voted “present.” It was dead on arrival and still is, for the life of me can’t figure out why anyone’s still even dicussing it.

But I concur with the poster above who called it the “suicide note” of the Democrat party!

From Wikipedia (I know, I know, but let me finish…), “renewable” energy accounts for 11% of our total energy supply, so if we toss everything else, we’ll lose 90% of our energy and there goes Western civilization!

It’s obvious AOC is devious and dumb, and I’m not sure which is dominant!

But when the destructive forces against our country are this blatant, then we’re in real trouble! It’s time for a Great Awakening! Armed conflict can’t be far away!!

11% of which most (if accounted for in the usual manner) is hydroelectric, with a pittance for wind and solar. And that pittance is only applicable when it has virtually 100% fossil fuel backup, which makes it worse than useless.

OK, I listened to it so you don’t have to. I guess having nothing to do with the USA, I’m a bit more immune to it than some.

First off, she gives us 8 minutes of terrorism. There’s no other word for it. She attempts to terrify her audience by making claims that are wildly over the top. They are certainly not in the IPCC reports, although they may exist in political summaries and reports. They are laughable.

Then for 2 minutes, she goes on about some lofty hand waving, basically saying things along the lines of, wouldn’t it be great if the world was perfect. Literally nothing of substance, so I’m a bit vague on that.

Now we get to the meat at 10 minutes. What? No substance again? 4.5 minutes of vague wish list stuff. Affordable this, free that, and sustainable the other. Zero substance.

So, at 14.5 minutes, she starts her second bulleted list. So we’re going to get the mechanisms that will bring about those wish list items? No. Not all all. For the next few minutes we get a load of socialist agenda points. Again, no information on how she proposes to get free this, affordable that and sustainable the other.

Finally, she pleads with the audience (if there was one) to sign up to this socialist manifesto in order to save the planet and destroy capitalism.

🎶 Th.. Tha.. That’s all folks! 🎶

Alexandria was obviously raised on daily readings of fairytales, I suspect she is still reading them and is keen to create her own version of Utopia. I would love her to try to explain how her Utopia could possibly become a reality, her happily ever after.

Of course it will all end in tears. Fractured fairytales is more the reality.

Humans being tortured using poetry read by a green alien.

Oh come on. If you are going to take the work of the comic prophet in vein, at least get it right. Your “green alien” is the award winner Vogon poet , Eclectic Vogon Zeltz, the aim was not to torture the humans ( only one of which was human anyway ) it was a poetry recital.

Please show more respect to the late, great Douglas Adams !

If you are going to criticise the author, you should get it right.

The scene in question is Arthur and Ford being read the vogon constructor fleet’s captain’s poetry by the captain.

The poet you mention was the galaxy’s 2nd worst poet, referred to before this scene (iirc). The galaxy’s worst poet had died with the destruction of the Earth by that vogon constructor fleet.

Listened to the whole monologue.
I am in a state of chock now and need a beer.
I will have nightmares all week and dream of AOC, GT, XR, Suzuki in one big multi tasked cocktail of disbelieve.
The only way of overcoming my nightmares is strong medicine or the revival of Mini-AOC, or the unlikely event that AOC is held in contempt of sanity.
In the two years I lived in the US, I never felt such a distance to any person there. I actually met mostly very smart and sensible people. What has happened since I last worked there in year 2000?

There is nothing to understand. It’s all airy-fairy wishing-on-a-star stuff, with no actual information about how it will be done nor funded.

In my opinion, that is the main difference between socialist and conservative manifestos. I say this as someone who has a few socialist ideals, but with fairly specific plans on how they might be enacted. I’m not sure they are truly workable ideas, mind, but I prefer that to handwaving whishy washy liberal-think.

“I say this as someone who has a few socialist ideals”

I saw a tv special on socialism the other day (Fox ought to air the entire series free on the Fox News Channel instead of only showing the entire series by subscription to Fox Nation) and according to the inventor of socialism, some guy in Gary, Indiana, the three principle pillars of socialism are to abolish private property; abolish religion; and abolish marriage.

I bet you don’t believe in any of that. 🙂

What you call socialist ideals is really just helping people out through social programs. I am for helping out people, too. I think most reasonable people feel that way.

Real socailism doesn’t help people, it hurts people. The real socialists just pretend they will help people in order to gain power and then instead of helping the people, the socialsists in power just help themselves to everything in society.

Btw, the fellow who established socialsim also established a socialist community that was to live by his ideas. The socialist communty, the very first one in history, fell apart, and the founder’s son wrote that socialism was unworkable. Not a very good start for socialism and it’s been downhill ever since leading to the deaths of countless innocent souls.

I understand that Bloomberg has a firm grasp on how agriculture and manufacturing work. IIRC (paraphrasing somewhat perhaps), farmers dig holes, plant seeds, cover them and wait for stuff to grow. In manufacturing they stick the metal in the machine, turn the lathe crank in the direction of the arrow and presto!

Ok Bloomer…

Karl
March 2, 2020 5:28 pm

Prediction:

– Biden & Sanders have a toss-up at the Convention, and the Party pragmatists push for a brokered nomination, meaning Bloomberg/Clinton get the nod. Or, Sanders has the majority of delegates, but the pragmatists insist on someone who is more “moderate” to appeal to “moderate” Democrats & disaffected “moderate” Republicans who hate DJT. Again, Bloomberg/Clinton. Clinton is the “balancer”, in this case to produce a possible female President & to bring in her cohort of Second Wave Feminists. Either way, Sanders, AOC, and the rest of The Squad, along with a massive chunk of the base, leave the convention & run Sanders as a third-party candidate. No idea on his running mate, but it can’t be anyone “moderate”. That wouldn’t be tolerated.

The resulting rupture could take years to heal, especially if DJT wins re-election. I doubt the admirable strict party discipline that unites & maintains the Party could easily undue that mess.

AOC claims that rising sea levels would destroy $1 trillion in coastal real estate, but her plan would cost $93 trillion over 10 years. That’s only a 1.08% return on investment over 10 years, or 0.09% per year. What reasonable person would ever make such an investment?

It won’t be anywhere near $1 trillion, because the sea level rise will be far below whatever alarmist crap she based that claim on. The real amount of damage due to sea level rise will probably not be significantly different from…

And no, there IS NO “return” on that “investment.” It’s an “investment” of $93 Trillion over the next 10 years and supposedly heads off $1.5 Billion in imaginary “damages” that are expected to occur 80 years from now. That’s a massive loss on investment, not a “return” of anything. And that’s before we apply discounting for the time value of money.

Reminds me about those awful seventies deep meaningless films plays and sundry stoned arty farty poetry sessions when you were trying to be cool with a good looking hippie chick from uni and you were really just suffering the necessary preamble to getting into her pants. Didn’t take long to work out if they’re not into throwing a leg over the back of the mobike they’re not worth the hassle and let that be a lesson to you young blokes.
