Quebec politician praises coronavirus for reducing carbon footprint in Wuhan

Barrett Wilson

Quebec politician and radio talk show host Luc Ferrandez has suggested that the coronavirus has had one “positive” outcome for the city of Wuhan, China—it’s reduced the carbon footprint.

On Saturday, he tweeted: “Wuhan. No automobile traffic. No air flights. The only city on the planet that will meet its GHG reduction targets. The way to this necessary degrowth will happen when all the debates have been in vain.”

After facing a social media backlash Luc Ferrandez apparently tried to “clarify” his position.

This is not the first time greens have praised mass death. Prince Phillip, husband of the current reigning British monarch, once saidIf I were reincarnated I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.

The infamous Club of Rome, a major promoter of the population crisis theory, also seems to hate the idea of lots of humans. The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself.”

Wait, you mean that there is a misanthropic, nihilist, murderous, anarchist, eco-terrorist from Quebec? Mon Dieu! Quelle Surprise! Next you’ll tell me that a double-gaited, back biting, self-righteous dancing instructor has been elected Prime Minister. That’ll be the day…

It would behove Mr Ferrandez to acquaint himself with the families of some of the poor victims of this cruel virus. He might realise that they are actual people who have Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Spouses, Children. They are not pond scum. They deserve some dignity and to relate their unfortunate deaths with some kind of positivity about greenhouse gas emissions is insensitive at best and inhuman at worst. He should be prosecuted.

The common enemy of humanity is green man. Evidently.

Luc Ferrandez is probably correct …
This demonstrates the state most humanity will have to suffer to achieve ‘The Green Ideal’ of a reduced carbon footprint;
except the Chinese have power, the greens don’t want us to have that either.

China is going to take a big economic hit over this, too.

Its one thing for greens to praise the virus. But you know that “on the other green hand,” someone will very soon blame global warming for the virus and/or its spread.

if the Club of Rome believes”The common enemy of humanity is man”, which people are “humanity” and deserve to live, and which people are the “enemy”? Does Luc Fernandez believe that Chinese people deserve to die? How racist of him!!!

The fact that this moron made his comments on the day before the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz says all you need to know about this excuse for a human being!

I have noticed that Greens don’t usually include themselves in their calls for human genocide. Surely if this is so serious they would be the first up for the modern equivalent of Soylent Green?

Sure, reducing GHG is the ultimate virtue. That’s why North Korea is so much more virtuous than South Korea or indeed most of the world.

I had a similar “evil” thought. This would solve all sorts of problems in China and around the world if enough people die. Better yet, people don’t die, but the disruption caused changes things for the better.

There are ALWAYS winners and losers. The trick is to be a winner.

Some climate activists seem to see a positive side to people standing at the edge of a severe hunger, water, hygiene … [ fill in appropriate] crisis when a people of ~1.5 bil. can’t leave their homes for everyday duties.
