Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg is looking to the world for suggestions as to how she can re-cross the Atlantic after next month’s U.N. climate summit in Chile was unexpectedly scrapped.
The 16-year-old made it from Sweden to California by yacht, train and electric car before Chile’s government announced it was canning the summit because of political unrest in the South American nation.
The COP25 summit will now be held in Spain and she is pleading for public help to make the 6000-mile trip through carbon-free modes of transportation.
“As #COP25 has officially been moved from Santiago to Madrid I’ll need some help,” Ms Thunberg tweeted from Los Angeles.
“It turns out I’ve travelled half around the world, the wrong way.”
“Now I need to find a way to cross the Atlantic in November … If anyone could help me find transport I would be so grateful.”

Thunberg refuses to fly because of the carbon emissions involved.
Her cry for assistance Friday came after she spent time with Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio discussing ways and means to help the world struggle through what they claim is a “climate and ecological emergency,” as Breitbart News reported. DiCraprio called her a “leader of our time” and revealed they have made “a commitment to support one another.”
Best and safest thing for her to do would be to stay in the US and maybe claim refugee status. It’s not safe for a young blonde girl back in Sweden.
She could discover Skype/videconferencing rather than feeding the cult of Greta by having to attend in person.

The easy way to cross an ocean in a “carbon free” way is on a sailing ship. Too long, you say? A CLIPPER ship. We need to get back into building “tall ships” and chartering them for people who MUST attend in person.
But the BEST way is to use Skype, or GoToMeeting, or TeamViewer or Webex. We should mock – I mean, even more than we DO – any on-site meeting in some luxury resort city. Bali, for example, should be “right out”.
Apparently american woodchip burning for electricity is carbon neutral in Europe, so she should ask for a lift on one of these carbon neutral ships that transport the wood pellets from the us to europe.
Hoist by her own petard. And by making this public plea has driven herself even further into the Klaart.
An Atlantic crossing by primitive means in winter betokens a meeting with the probably thousands of seafarers who are ‘Still at Sea’. So when she runs out of US visa time it’ll be no doubt back to Canada where Justine will be happy to use her as a prop.
No doubt she’ll miss the conclave in Madrid, which may well not please the attendees as her virtue signalling will bring to public ridicule the transport choices of the thousands who are part of the Climate Jamboree. Brings to mind the comments made by Khrushchev about not defecating where one eats, or maybe the means by which little Greta will be thrown to the kerb 🙂
She should have the sail boat the brought her here come back and pick her up but it may not be safe to do that until at least late spring of 2020. The best way for her to attend the meeting would by via the Internet.
Yeah, COP 26 is to be in Glasgow. Perhaps she should be thinking about that.

This is interesting. Usually Swedish citizens may stay in US for three month’s. If staying longer we will not be allowed to enter again. It’s not enough to go to Mexico, she will have to leave the continent before entering US again. So please do not help her !

As inviting as it is to comment on Greta’s self-imposed and silly predicament, it offers an example of a an increasingly common form of climate derangement especially in Scandinavia – the moral aversion to flying because of the GHG emissions and the consequent desire to shame anyone who uses modern aviation. This is lunacy but lunacy that has a continually growing cost. The European Union has translated this aversion into practice by requiring airlines to purchase offsets for a portion of their flights and the International Civil Aviation Organization, with US support, is working on a global aviation emissions offset program that will commence in 2021. The effect of the offsets, in fact, is to raise airline operating costs which results either in reduced profits or, more likely, in increased passenger and and freight costs. We will all soon be paying higher fares as a form of indulgence to compensate for our sins of using aircraft. With climate hysteria, the absurd has become the common.

There is a certain chutzpah in demanding the world pay for Greta’s neuroses.
Any diesel-powered ship will do for Greta. As they cool the planet. At least the IPCC thinks so. NOx and SO2 are expected to cool the climate more than CO2 is expected to warm it.
I will start believing in mr Di Caprio’s sincerity when he scraps his private jet and cars and travels only by earth-bound public transport. Or on a donkey, of course.
See the thing is this is normal for them, their foot print, as enormous as it is, is normal for them. And they are pure, so only our emissions, the poor people, really do the damage. So in their minds they don’t need to reduce their “footprint”.
Didn’t you read the “open letter” from a bunch of these celebrities that came out the other week. They’re “stuck” in their high carbon lifestyles with out systemic change and won’t change their lifestyles (regardless of the “damage” they claim it causes) until everyone is forced to change by government decree.
